Really like the intro of this one with the drone shots. That was such a fun lake back in the day, I think we can all remember the day of "GET THE NET, IT'S AN ALPERS!"
Intake 2 was off the hook a couple weeks ago after one of their stocks. Literally cast after cast. Pretty epic stuff. Thanks for the videos and cheers!
@@DoctorSess I think we got lucky with the stock the day before but yes catching fish after fish got to the point where I was glad I had changed all of my lures from treble to single hooks and even more so on the barbless hooks lol… wasn’t sad about fish that came off the hooks on their own 😆
Blast from the past, I spend many a day there. Remember catching nice fish there. I have seen huge Alpers caught there too. South lake had the tastiest trout. Long and slim looking but great eating. Back around 06/07.
@@fishingparadisecalifornia7764 I killed it in the lower twin on my tube fishing gsf minnows got a few 4lb and a thick 5lb...also fished virginia lakes and murdered it there
@@donaldstephensen8654 i mostly swam at lower twin.. Its pretty late in the year for holdovers. The virginia lakes were dead when was there not a single person on shore getting a bite.. The bites i did get at big virginia were smaller fish. Virginia creek was off the hook with hogs and west walker. Green creek was alright for some small wilds.
Such a pretty little lake; I'm surprised to see it so empty. A few years ago I was up there at the end of the season and there were still quite a few fishermen. Thanks for the update!
. Is it part of Bishop Creek? How far up the canyon is it? How far is the parking area from the inlet where you fished? Sorry there aren't more and larger fish. We use to camp and fish Bishop creek and the upper lakes but it has been a long time. I want to go back.
Appreciate the update UO. I have to drive up in October for my bday and do some float tube/ fly fishing. Not expecting much, just need to see my favorites and will definitely be at that spillway. Obviously we all remember the alpers, but who remembers the metal DFG tags that they used to put into the gills of the big DFG fish they'd plant? That's how good fishing was back twenty years ago, DFG wanted people to know it was one of their broods and not an alper 😅😅
It's a crying shame! The majority of the fish I caught were Brown's and this bad example of a state has ruined it! No one probably will agree with me but fisheries should be closed for a couple of years and let them grow up, too much pressure on the fisheries..Good video, love that area.
It's the same thing in Oregon. Fish & Game hates Brown Trout. They would rather have anglers catch 'Silver Sardines'. They don't care about the Sportsman at all.
Ten, twenty years ago that whole damn would've had families and friends catching many decent sized trout. I can not believe the current state of our eastern sierras fishery, so sad. Not even a fly fisherman (like myself) on a float tube in this video. Jeez
@@TroutWest I been to second intake and i got skunked nothing i did fish the Owens river i did good there. Oh to many rules on the river you have to read
You probly wont see him but he will see you.
I am so lucky to live 30 minutes from this place
Thanks for respecting the bears give them space keep them wild
Home stoppin grounds, back in the day...North, South, Sabrina and Weir pond, Bishop Creek...and Parchers Camp....
Many years ago, we fished there. One day it was wild and fast. The very next day it was dead.
I'm uploading a full video of my trip last June
@@BrandensOutdoorChannel well check it out
Tnx for sharing ! Got the opportunity to fish this last summer and caught 2 small browns on the spoon. But the bite is so finicky and nothing big

All good, a day out fishing is better then nothing. Thanks for sharing.
I've had good luck there using fly and bubble

Yeah a lot has changed for the worst in the canyon but the views are still the same. I miss the Albert bite too.
Love the vids bro..just got home yesterday from bridgeport spent 7 days there... can you float tube there?

@@stevejimmy3347 ok cool

Such a beautiful place and amazing video. I love fishing great way to spend summer. ✨
I fished this same spot in mid-June. Lots of action on brown mouse tail. All about 15”. My 1st time here using your inputs
Thanks for sharing. Love the Bishop area
Fly fished there 30 years ago, no crowds and some nice brookies. 😎
I've caught many casting into that intake flow to the left of the shot.
Caught 4 rainbow and 1 brown in the spillway section in early december with my young son it was quiet and fun!

It's technically part of bishop creek, it's about 3/4 mile down the hill from Aspendell. 1/4 mile walk to inlet pipe.
Nice video bro! Keep it up!
