On Amazon there are some product reviews complaining of difficulty with the installation. By studying and following this video and the manufacturer's installation video carefully everything went smoothly.

Enjoyed going through this journey with you, actually lol. Just ordered one myself and will be attempting to replace tomorrow. Went with a matte finish that requires a "wet application." Supposed to eliminate the adhesive issue and bubbles? Shocked that Samsung didn't offer better support for this. With it being new tech, it's going to turn off a lot of customers. Sad. It's been a great little phone. Don't think I'll ever go back to flat.
I love the flip aspect, but the screen protector cracking has put me off alone. The screen might as well be cracked all the way across the fold and Samsung don't want to do anything about it? First and last flip phone for me unless they do something to either improve the screen protector or make it so it is not required. Why should we have to pay for a new screen protector and fix it ourselves?

Phone looks brand new, no air bubbles or imperfections. You saved us a few dollars and a trip of about 35 miles one way. Sent my phone to samsung since it was under their warranty. Since the lcd has a small black mark they will not replace the protector with out fixing the screen. I do not need to fix the screen for 240 dollars. This just saved me so much money. Thank you. Just bought the one you suggested from amazon. Thanks again and great video. Read in the comments you switched to the 4. Hope that screen protector is still on for you!

It's always lasted longer than the original but I upgrade each year to the new flip, so I have kept it longer than the year to see how long it actually lasts 😳

Just got back from Samsung and was told they have to wipe my phone to change the screen protector. As I had driven over an hour and was in an unfimilur aria I was reluctunt to wipe my phone as I would need to get home and log into my mobile carriers website to activate a new e-sim. What a waste of time. I think I am going to give this a try on my own. Thanks for the video.
My wife’s protector came off completely in the middle fold. I guess, we are not ready yet for the foldable phones and it’s why there’s no Apple equivalent yet. Might attempt the same.
Check out Moto Razr 2022 and Oppo Find X Both phones have no gap in between when folded and both have no hinge when unfolded. Their screen is completely flat when unfolded u can barely notice it, nothing like samsungs trash. Apple has no foldable phone yet because apple is simply 5 years behind when it comes to phone development in general. They still had a huge notch last year while other manufacturers like ZTE were already selling phones with underdisplay cameras in early 2020. Apple is just good in cameras and userfriendly UI and has nice designs but thats it, if it wouldnt be the Apple brand propably no one would buy their phones, period.
I bought this after seeing this video, same as you it went on ok apart from the top part I actually had to cut round the camera lens and the first fold of the phone it bubbled and a few more folds of the phone it cracked, so I returned it, so now I don't have a screen protector on.
A couple of weeks ago the screen went completely, luckily it was still under warranty, lost everything on the phone as they wiped it completely, I think they just sent a new phone back to be honest, we shall see how this one goes, but now I don't fold the phone at all unless I go out, hopefully it will last until the end of my contract which is another 18 months away.
The phones been perfect and I agree that I would have let Samsung do it, if they were able to actually do it local to me and had the stock. 🙄 If you're not sure about doing it, then don't. 👍
Not 100% sure as not willing to try it but Samsung say the warranty is void if it doesn't have one and my guess is with the battering that a screen protector takes, you would be mad to let that happen to the screen which you can't just replace easily 🤔

Hey, thanks for the question. Yes it's still on and looking perfect 👍🏻 As for fool proof, nothing is foolproof as you saw me mess it up slightly in the video but it all worked out okay in the end; it's as close as you can get without letting someone do it.
I think i might be taking this route. The same has happened to my wife’s Flip 3. Contacted Samsung and was told the first replacement would be free. They arranged for the phone to be picked up and it was sent to a third party company. Got an email this morning asking me to pay £309! They claimed there was impact damage on the screen and they wouldn't replace the screen protector without replacing the screen! So I asked for a photo which they emailed to me and it was literally a microscopic nick on the corner edge of the bezel due to wear and tear. Just seemed a poor excuse to make money. Obviously I’m not paying, so the phone is being sent back to me.
If it's working fine then just replace it yourself. They probably just don't want to be liable incase it breaks the screen, which I get but still that price tag hurts.
I got the same issue. I also heard your not supposed to remove them because there is risk of damaging the phone... I tried to see if the warranty would cover this. happened to me after 8 months. But.... Nope... Even tho they say not to remove the screen protector so it's basically apart of the phone in my eyes & should be covered. The nearest place to me to do it is like a 2+ hour drive & I would have to pay them out of pocket a fair bit... Never the less as your proving it can be replaced! I can buy this same brand of screen protector. How long did this one last before you got issues like the original one? Or is it still good?
It was still good for 6 months (longer than the original) before I upgraded to the flip 4, which I've just replaced the screen protector on that one as well.
You need to buy the kit version in the link. They do sell just the screen protectors but it's not something I would try, although now that you've got them, nothing to loose.

I had mine for almost 10 months no problem but the other day it was really cold so we put the heater on and some moisture got in were it folds now I have a big air bubble in the middle that I can't get rid off.
the same problem, I sent my 1st z flip 3 to samsung they changed for free screen, batteries etc for free, but 10 days without phone, fortunately that time I had spare one, I sold that one. I have another z flip 3 the same happen even faster than first one. This time I removed my self screen protector - nothing happened besides screen is much better to read and much cleaner I can't see reason to keep it.
Hi, Does the pre applied screen protector good enough for protect your device? i've had a flip 4 for 2 weeks now but i kinda see a little bit a scratch that can only seen by a reflecting light (not a big deal scratch tho)
Yeah the flip 3 was the same, after about 3 months it was starting to irritate me, but it's better for the screen protector to be scratched than the screen.

Samsung will replace the screen protector at one of their stores or you can send it away. If You're traveling it's worth checking they have the protectors in stock as someone on here was disappointed when they traveled to the store to find out they had no stock.
I'm debating this vs heading to a UK Samsung store to get them to sort it, any idea if they charge and if so how much? (It's a design flaw that they break so easily so almost feel it should be free but suspect they'll charge)
I'm pretty sure it's free 😳 but last time someone said they went there they didn't have any in stock so couldn't do it. Might be worth ringing and making sure before the trip 👍
I had mine done only a couple months ago and it's coming off, they charged me £20 saying its not covered under warranty. They also had none in stock so kept my phone and posted it to me, not great service

Yeah they give you a little slip of plastic film which just slides under a corner and then you peel. So much easier than trying to use fingers or anything else.

It's actually better than the original, mainly because it had been put on square. I expect the center to go again at some point but that's just wear and tear. Ha great that he warrantied the hole phone 🤣

Aww sorry, I've only used that make and can only see it on their store here in the UK, it won't show me international sellers. Maybe just search for the make and see what comes up 🤔
Awww man, yeah it wasn't the easiest. What I did note was although I had glue marks from where it had lifted, after a day they disappeared. I almost didn't wait to see if they would go.
I'm terrified of dust. Just one teeny weeny spec of dust under the protector does my head in! When I change a protector I look like like a brain surgeon ready to operate. There I am, so relieved to be finished, and there's STILL a spec looking up at me! I usually go through a pack of the bloody things before I get it right!

Yeah sorry, I should have done better getting those extra shots. But all I can say is, that the screen was in perfect condition under the screen protector, which shows that the screen protector was doing its job 👍🏻
I asked Samsung for help replacing the screen protector and the guy told me they'd have to remove the whole screen😂😂 (and charge me like 400 for it). I'll definitely try this
To be fair it’s still on and the original lasted almost a year, so that’s not bad considering I was replacing an iPhone one every couple of months because it became cracked.

Fair point, suppose I did as it is part of the kit, I wasn't trying to replace the instructional video they provide but more over the fact that it worked amazingly and how easy it was 👍
No it doesn’t , what Samsung do say is that if you somehow damaged the screen whilst removing the protector then the warranty would be voided. The screen protector will be classes as a consumable item, by it’s very nature - If it wasn’t then you would just have a screen. Hope that helps.
Technically they are right with the above statement 'removing the the screen protector', what they say in their terms is removing it and causing damage will void warranty and using it without a screen protector will void warranty. Basically the screen is really vunrable and they are coving themselves but if you manage to put one on yourself or by a third party then as long as all is good, their warranty is still good. You did the best thing though getting them to do it, I just don't live near a centre and when I checked originally they didn't even have stock.
MY screen protector is so cracked, I can't stand this phone. Its only been 6 months of ownership. I don't really want to purchase 2 screens protectors each year. I might just not use one
The choice is yours, do some research as to how people have got on without a screen protector (it voids Samsung's warranty btw) but as it's a fairly expensive phone a screen protector every six months should be a cost issue.

I upgraded to the 4 and then the 5 so not seen the long lasting results more than 8 months but they did last longer than the OEM ones.

With the kit comes a fine piece of plastic which slips under a corner to lift it and then just slowly peel it off 👍

Im on my 2nd Flip 3. Apparently these screen protectors only last 5 to 6 months. Im gonna do this. My warranty expired anyway.

Is there any info if samsung will repair this for a small cost? Or any info from customer service bout this issue and how its usually handled? Thanks :))
Samsung will replace the screen protector at one of their stores or you can send it away. If You're traveling it's worth checking they have the protectors in stock as someone on here was disappointed when they traveled to the store to find out they had no stock.
I'm debating this vs heading to a UK Samsung store to get them to sort it, any idea if they charge and if so how much? (It's a design flaw that they break so easily so almost feel it should be free but suspect they'll charge)
I'm pretty sure it's free 😳 but last time someone said they went there they didn't have any in stock so couldn't do it. Might be worth ringing and making sure before the trip 👍
I had mine done only a couple months ago and it's coming off, they charged me £20 saying its not covered under warranty. They also had none in stock so kept my phone and posted it to me, not great service
Ah man that's really bad. I think they should make it clear on their policy and put the info in plain English on their website.
I tried this yesterday and the moment I closed the phone, the screen protector popped up in enormous bubbles on both sides of the fold. Trying another brand today:/

How did you take the original screen saver off? Did you use any tool? I'm just worried of messing the screen up when I take the original off
Yeah they give you a little slip of plastic film which just slides under a corner and then you peel. So much easier than trying to use fingers or anything else.

@@TerryLivesey i know had to use an iphone while i was waiting to get it back which was awful lol it seems the people on the online support dont actually have any direct contact with the repair centres but ordered a whitestone dome so hopefully will be able to sort my screen out tomorrow

When my first one came off the T-Mobile dealer warrantied the entire phone :-o
It's actually better than the original, mainly because it had been put on square. I expect the center to go again at some point but that's just wear and tear. Ha great that he warrantied the hole phone 🤣

@@TerryLivesey here in germany its so expensive its 26-27€ and thats almost the price that samsung charges for a replacement in their service Center, i can get it done there for 35-40€ and have a original screenprotector on it.

Aww sorry, I've only used that make and can only see it on their store here in the UK, it won't show me international sellers. Maybe just search for the make and see what comes up 🤔
I had to reorder another kit as i messed up with removing the top layer (the same difficulty you had, except i had less luck)
Awww man, yeah it wasn't the easiest. What I did note was although I had glue marks from where it had lifted, after a day they disappeared. I almost didn't wait to see if they would go.

Yep it was removed with tools included in the kit which made it really easy. I was amazed how easily and effortlessly it came off 👍

I'm terrified of dust. Just one teeny weeny spec of dust under the protector does my head in! When I change a protector I look like like a brain surgeon ready to operate. There I am, so relieved to be finished, and there's STILL a spec looking up at me! I usually go through a pack of the bloody things before I get it right!

Yeah sorry, I should have done better getting those extra shots. But all I can say is, that the screen was in perfect condition under the screen protector, which shows that the screen protector was doing its job 👍🏻

I asked Samsung for help replacing the screen protector and the guy told me they'd have to remove the whole screen😂😂 (and charge me like 400 for it). I'll definitely try this

It's just with a little bit of plastic film which is provided in the kit. Really easy and quick.
Don't see the screen protector staying on for very long especially after a few folds.
To be fair it’s still on and the original lasted almost a year, so that’s not bad considering I was replacing an iPhone one every couple of months because it became cracked.
How delicate is the screen underneath. Anyone ever just ditch the screen protector?

@@TerryLivesey my screenprotector has no scratches other the the breaking in the middle....( yes mine doesn't come off it just like sort of cracks in the middle.)
I obviously use mine too much 🤣 strange about the cracking though but at least it came off

Fair point, suppose I did as it is part of the kit, I wasn't trying to replace the instructional video they provide but more over the fact that it worked amazingly and how easy it was 👍

if you have a warranty, removing the factory screen protector will void it.
No it doesn’t , what Samsung do say is that if you somehow damaged the screen whilst removing the protector then the warranty would be voided. The screen protector will be classes as a consumable item, by it’s very nature - If it wasn’t then you would just have a screen. Hope that helps.
I came back from a Samsung Center and they exactly said it voids the warranty, besides they changed the screen protector at no cost.
Technically they are right with the above statement 'removing the the screen protector', what they say in their terms is removing it and causing damage will void warranty and using it without a screen protector will void warranty. Basically the screen is really vunrable and they are coving themselves but if you manage to put one on yourself or by a third party then as long as all is good, their warranty is still good. You did the best thing though getting them to do it, I just don't live near a centre and when I checked originally they didn't even have stock.

MY screen protector is so cracked, I can't stand this phone. Its only been 6 months of ownership. I don't really want to purchase 2 screens protectors each year. I might just not use one
The choice is yours, do some research as to how people have got on without a screen protector (it voids Samsung's warranty btw) but as it's a fairly expensive phone a screen protector every six months should be a cost issue.
@@TerryLivesey I removed it. I'm very happy. I enjoy my phone again. I'll just be careful with it. I'm gentle with my stuff, so I'm not worried.
