- This is a comprehensive comparison between the stock mufflers and the Nameless mufflers with 4" double-walled tips and 5" mufflers. Subaru owners are faced with endless exhaust options for their cars. For those wanting more and better sound without upsetting the neighbors too much, this Nameless system is the one to choose.

Every company should pay you to make these videos for their exhaust! Amazing work!
Thank you!
This style. I love it. Great job going straight into what we were all looking for. The sounds on cold start, revving, and hard accelerating, and shit, you even got where we love hearing our car the most, echo inducing areas. Good stuff my man.
Thank you my guy! Appreciate it!
One of the best edited and on point exhaust videos I have ever seen. Of any type of car. Well done!
Thank you!!
Hands down the best video I've seen for comparing stock to nameless. Great job.
Thank you!!
The nameless definitely sounds better, it brings out some of that subie engine sound.
Definitely the best video on exhaust I’ve ever seen thank you for this!
Glad to hear it!!
Thank you for this great video! This was exactly what I was looking for and just bought these for myself! Can't wait!!
Dude I’m surprise you don’t have any comments that was a super great edited video. May I ask which brand cat back/axle back to used
joseph patterson thank you! The brand is actually just called Nameless
Just got myself a 2021 wrx i really want an exhaust bc the stock is too quiet and I’m thinking about this Nameless exhaust bc it sounds so good thanks to this video 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👏🏽
This video convinced me to go 4” double walled 5” muffler, good video
Same here. I'm too old now for another straight piped wrx
This was perfect thank you
super well made video!
thank you!
Great video. Thinking of the same set up, but catback, so mid pipe will have a resonator - hoping to control the drone on the highway. I also have the COBB AP with air intake (Stage 1 - 93 setup), so should get some good crackling.
That sounds awesome!
So I installed the catback a few months ago. For those wondering, with my setup above, I have no droning with the 4" tips and 5" cans. It's louder than stock, but no drone. And yes there is some nice crackle and pop with it.
Hell ya! Representing Texas bro!🤘
Great comparison video! Quick questions; is there any drone and are those 4” single or double wall tips?
Alex S. These are double-wall tips and there is drone at 70mph+ but none at 60mph or below
Good video, bro. but I am wondering why ur car can pop, cuz I got a 2021 cvt wrx and installed the ets exhaust but the sound is not good, backfire is very little.
It is almost certainly because of the CVT transmission. This is a manual WRX and the exhaust mostly pops when I shift up or down.
Is the 5 and 4 Muffler too much of a difference?
Not sure, I haven’t heard the 4 inch muffler in person
Great video
Was there any other changes done to the exhaust? Or was it the camera angle that made even the stock system sound raspy
Yeah, I think it was the camera angle. It didn't sound that good in person. It was totally stock.
I’m currently stuck on wether to get the 4” or 5 “ muffler. Keep hearing muffler deletes and they seem a little to loud and raspy
The 5” muffler was plenty loud, seriously. Highly recommend the 5” muffler
Have you gotten the mid pipe yet too?
@@luisdelgado8815 no, I never planned on it. I’ve heard good things, but I was happy with just the muffler
I had an exhaust on my last car and honestly it became annoying. But, since getting a WRX, I really am thinking about upgrading the exhaust. I'm thinking double walled either 3.5in or 4in with the 5in muffler. How is it? I only want it to be slightly louder and pop. I HATE droning exhausts.
Even with the 5 inch mufflers there is still some drone, but as someone who is just like you and can't stand exhaust drone I found it bearable and worth it. But I had already installed butyl and foam sound deadening in the trunk, trunk lid, doors, roof, and front + rear fenders so it was great. I highly HIGHLY recommend doing this. It added about $200 to the overall cost, but made the car feel thousands of $ more premium. Once the exhaust breaks in after a few months, the pops and bangs shifting from 2nd to 3rd are fantastic, as well as downshifting. This video barely captured any of it because it had been installed the day before. Occasionally I'd get a pop so loud on the inside of the car it almost sounded like gunfire. I laughed so hard, I couldn't breathe. Hope this helps lol. I loved this exhaust system. 4 inch double walled tips are the way to go imo.
@@TheCarEnthusiast awesome, thanks for the info! Yeah Double walled looks ten times better than single wall!
Have you done any dB tests? I live in california and had the muffler deletes and they were deafening!
F.B.D I haven’t done any, but since these have the 5 inch mufflers they really aren’t too loud. Definitely louder than stock, but the perfect level in my opinion. Not deafening in any way. Although, I did put a lot of sound deadening in the trunk and under the rear seats
Mostly for the purpose of reducing road noise
@@TheCarEnthusiast what did you use for sound deadening
@@aidanmcdonald7574 I used Noico 80mil butyl and then Noico foam on top where it would fit.
@@TheCarEnthusiast Awesome would you say it makes a difference?
How's the sound difference from the inside? I like the tone of mine stock but I can barely hear it, I know a j pipe would help that a lot but this is cheaper for now
Connor Dunckel I’ve installed quite a bit of sound deadening, but I can still hear the exhaust from inside. Not too loud at all, quite an enjoyable level of noise.
Does this exhaust pass emissions?
Absolutely, it’s only axle-back, so no changes to the catalytic converter
If you still run this how many decibels was the set up
Unfortunately I sold this car in 2020 /: wish I could help with that! I’m wondering myself tbh
@@TheCarEnthusiast thanks for responding I’m curious cause I live in a nabor hood and don’t wanna make everyone mad
@@Jnh_photo I doubt this would make people mad. The 5” muffler was perfect and I’m the same way as you, I didn’t want to be annoying
Hey guys, I just got a 2019 wrx and I want to get the exhaust done but I know dirt shit about these cars, I don’t want it to be loud but more on the deeper low tone , do you guys recommend anything for me to check out ?
This exhaust sounds like it would be perfect for you. Really deep tone, but not too loud since it has the largest muffler option from Nameless
@@TheCarEnthusiast so I look up the 4 inch muffler tips?
@@halaxzeus350 go to Nameless’s website and search for the 4 inch double wall tips and 5 inch muffler. Nameless is the name of a company.
The 5 in would be fine, I have the 5 in on my Sti and it’s definitely not illegally loud. If I were to drive next to someone with a r400 or similar exhaust you wouldn’t even hear mine. It gives it a very nice deep exhaust note loud enough to hear your shifts. But it will also have certain parts of the rev range that depending on throttle input will be dead silent. This exhaust is louder than stock probably 30percent and quieter as well. It does get rid of all the annoying booming shit the stock exhaust does. You may wanna look into the 4 in muffler as well. The 4 in on the Wrx is closer to the volume of the 5 in on the Sti. Also 4 in tips might be great if you use the stock hanger to fill out the space however, if you go with nameless hangers it will tuck the tips up to the bumper with enough space to barley slide your finger tip through. I went with 3.5 in tips and nameless hangers, had I gone 4 it would be touching my bumper.
Do you need to tune the car if you install these?
Antony Leung not at all, and it’s really easy to install these. Just 2 bolts and an exhaust hanger on either side. Took me 20 minutes in total
Does it pop/crack?
Definitely. There were some awesome backfires shifting from 3rd to 4th!
Would you say these are pretty reasonably loud or are these ‘neighbors leaving notes on your car’ kinda loud? 😂
Evan Engstrom hey, great question! Totally reasonable. I think the same is true for the 4in muffler setup. I would definitely expect notes and/or threats if you went straight muffler delete.
TheCarEnthusiast awesome! Thank you very much!
Let’s goooo thousandth subscriber ☺️ great video
Emin Gharabagi YES!! Thank you!!
Been watching your video so many times now. And it’s such a good comparison between stock and the nameless. But I’m still on the fence of getting a 4” or 5” muffler. With a 3.5”tip. Any thoughts and reviews for the 5” mufflers? Did you ever wish you went to 4” instead of 5”?
I really don’t like drone on the highway and Nameless claims no drone, but I live in Texas where highway speed limits are higher (70-80 mph) and I do experience quite a bit of drone. So for my uses, I wouldn’t want the 4” muffler. I have a bunch of sound deadening material in my car and I can still hear the 5” just fine-especially all of the pops and bangs. Thank you for watching!
Plus, even the 5” muffler is waaaaayyyyy smaller than the stock mufflers
TheCarEnthusiast Ahhh such useful information! You’ve helped me make my decision. Thanks for the video and for the additional info! Looking forward for more videos from you!
@@TheCarEnthusiast I'm a HTX guy, myself. Just ordered the same exhaust as yours. Been on the fence between this and the 4inch muffler. I fear drone will be annoying for me because I drive between Houston and Austin quite often.
@@tylera733 I wish I had documented this much better in the video, but the drone isn't bad above 75mph so that highway 290 drive won't be awful. It drones around 60-70mph the most. Getting the 5 inch muffler was definitely the right choice. I installed a bunch of butyl sound dampener material throughout the car (especially the trunk) and I strongly recommend it.

This is the worst company you could possibly go through. Terrible customer service! Shipping took forever to get here so my local shop was able to take care of me instead. Called to make a return on an item I would no longer need and Jason was completely rude the whole call just stating how he would be losing $100 in shipping if I returned it. I’m sorry your business is doing that bad that $100 is killing you but returns happen at the end of the day. Like I said I old definitely recommend a different company. The exhaust isn’t even all that great anyways. Welding on it is very amateur. But overall I would return anyways after speaking to them on the phone and receiving the worst customer service ever. Have a video of the audio on my TH-cam I’ll be posting today with my business account if you want to listen to this asshole. Once again take your money somewhere else this company does not deserve your business!
Dang, that sucks. My experience was pretty easy.
