Yooooo! Whats up up my website creation peeps. Today's video is on where to get free images for websites. And they're all royalty free! I'll also show you how to optimize them for website use at the end of the video!
Instead of Optimizilla I'm using Kraken for all images on website including thumbnails. I take all pictures from WP backup zip file, drag and drop pictures on Kraken website, one click and I get them back optimized. I like that it keeps the original file name, so I can just replace all images via FTP. Optimizilla adds "-min" to every file name. I could quickly remove that "-min" with batch rename software (Advanced Renamer is excellent freeware) but why do that if there's Kraken with no difference in quality and file size.
Can I add that instead of Fotor use Befunky befunky.com/create/ because Fotor is so bloated and slow. For images for web using Befunky is enough I think.
great solution and tips bro!! thank you for your video. I have created my e-store!!!)) but also from time to time, a had some trouble with product photos from my supplier. Or they were too small or had only one product photo which is too bad for my conversions. I have found way to download image from website via e-scraper maybe it helps somebody too.
An optimized (compressed) 1800px width image is a pretty good standard header size. The height just varies on the image (: A regular image can be anything underneath those same dimensions as long as it’s optimized. I always optimize my images as much as possible before I start seeing a visible reduction in quality.
Thanks a lot! I'm currently doing volunteer website design for small, startup, local community non-profits, and they don't have a lot of money to spend. Anything that reduces cost, without busting (in some cases) nonexistent budgets, is a great boon.
I'm glad to hear that my videos are making web design a bit easier for you! Hang in there, and don't hesitate to reach out if you need more help. Thanks for the kind words!
Thank you so much. I am making a “go” at designing my own website for my new business. You’re easy to follow and straight forward. Great content. I appreciate you.
Absolutely! Thanks so much! I'm glad you found the content efficient and to the point. That's exactly what I aim for! 😊 Let me know if you need any more help or have questions.
This is a great resource. Do you have a rule of thumb for responsive WP websites and image file size and pixel sizes? If an image is to used as a background image with a white or black shading over it, why not reduce the quality of the image which will make it smaller. If you always tweak the image size, do you need an image smasher plugin? How wide is a desktop monitor in pixels?
You're very welcome! I'm thrilled to hear that you found the guidelines helpful. If you ever need further assistance or have any questions, feel free to reach out. Happy to help anytime! Keep up the great work! 😊👍
Had to SUBSCRIBE!!! It's smart and helpful men like you I would love to marry! lol Seriously. In just one short video I've learned several websites that offers free images and how to edit and optimize them as well. I mean, who does that within that small amount of time? Had I seen this on another page, I'm sure it would had been a 30 min. vid. Thanks a million!!!
Hey, I liked your work, and it's true I have to appreciate it. Though I have one question that is. I am doing the programming and I want the image for it. So, can you please tell me any website through which I can get these images in a link format ready to be on my website? Thanks.
Hi, thank you for a very nice video. I want to use pictures of old artists on my website. I can only find their images on google and not through free stock images. Could you please suggest if there are stock image websites which share/sell such pictures and if not, how can I best use those images from google without getting into any trouble? Thank you.
Awesome two years ago and I'm learning something new! God bless you, bro.
