  • This Micro Game Changer fly is called the Party Size M&M or Micro Minnow! I developed the fly after studying small minnows that live in a local stream. I wanted it to be translucent, have a prominent lateral line and match the color. After tying it, seeing it swim and fishing it, I was blown away with the action and the smallmouth and trout LOVED IT too!! The other cool thing is just by changing the color of the ice and laser dub you can match any baitfish that swims!
I also recommend tying it with either a brass bead or with no weight! Just by changing the weight the fly will fish in different water columns and allow you to fish it slower. Also when fishing the fly, I encourage you to twitch your rod as frequently as possible. What you'll notice is the more you move the rod, the better the fly with move and look alive! Oh so good!
In this video, I will share my simple, step-by-step tying process! I hope you enjoy the video!

Fantastic!! Can't believe that orvis 25lb spool is still kicking after all these flies!

HA! That's a new spool, had to get another last year! It only took a few flies to use an entire spool! ;)

Thanks I only make videos when it's warranted and I only share flies that I catch fish with and believe in!

Thank you Rick! So much fun to fish... the browns and bows just torpedo out of the water to get it! Enjoy!!

Could you add a second hook to this ? And if you could what kind/size would you use ?

Yes! Small B10S #10 instead of the 2nd shank!

Great pattern...one suggestion, ditch the background music loop...

Bruce it's always a challenge to have background or no background music... thanks for the comment.
