- Being a normal person in a fighting game seems like it has its disadvantages with all those other fighters that can manifest energy into a projectile and such. However, with the right determination and maybe weapon or tool, those normal characters can defy the odds and win. It also helps that these characters are in a video where realism takes a back seat. In this video, I go over my favorite normal dudes and ladies in fighting games that have to contend with the fighters that use abilities that you are less likely to see in real life.

I argue Cody in the fighting games he features in deserves an honorable mention. In games full of martial artists, monsters, the enlightened, angels, and demons, Cody is a literal street fighting scrapper who generates tornadoes not with ki, magic, or technology, but sheer force of his swings. He's a total freak who'd be a god in the arena if he had any ambitions, but because he's so complacent he only does what's always worked for him: throw rocks, kick sand, use pipes, wrenches, and knives, and good old fashioned beatdowns.
Gypsy Squid It's funny because according to his play data, he's on the same level of power as Oni or Shin Akuma if I remember correctly.

A Capcom character encyclopedia book had an entry on BB Hood. It referred to her “as the only normal character on the roster, normal in the sense that she was regular human and not in the sense that she wasn’t completely insane”.

How the heck Shingo Yabuki the guy specifically designed to be "the normal dude in KOF" isn't on this list, but Yuki, the Kushinada girl with the special bloodline ties to the Orochi revival is? She also had abnormal attacks in Gals' Fighters(which isn't part of KOF canon, taking girls from multiple SNK games beyond just KOF.)

irina1296 plus he is one of the most useless characters in mk, he adds nothing to the "plot" he's just a stupid grease ball cop that raiden plucked off the street to increase the body count, mother fucker would get murdered by 90% of the mk rosters that exist, he's bland, dry, and is no threat to any character. Any attempt to make him a cool acceptable character has been failed and is null and void, which is why he's only been in 3 games. How's that for an opinion sweet cheeks.

Cammy is an enhanced human with drugs, brainwashing and other stuff. Zangielf...Mika is the better choice. BB Hood is not a little girl, she's just a petite agent hunter of the Darkstalkers.
Other honorable mentions are
Alex - Street Fighter III/V - trained wrestler no ki moves, with the sheer power can chop projectiles like the hadoken.
Makoto - Street Fighter III/V a young girl trained well in karate no weapons no powers, just brute strength and her training.
Norimaru - A guest character in Marvel vs Street Fighter, a comedian in real life that uses everything in his back from papers, books, rulers, toys etc to fight.
Ran Hibiki - from Rival Schools. Even before Frank West and Cassy Cage this girl uses camera for fighting and selfies, she also uses news papers and a rolled up paper for attacks.
Iincho - Rival Schools/Project Justice an ordinary chair person school girl learning basic self-defense and karate.
Zaki/Aoi Himezaki - Rival Schools Project Justice, she's a gang leader that uses chains for weapons and brawls.
Kisarah Westfield - Aggressors of Dark Combat/ Neo Geo Battle Colosseum, her old moveset are somewhat wrestling, but now in the updated ver in NGBC she fights with her hand bag and like her old super Jealousy Bomber she makes the opponent jealous by kissing his his boyfriend...wtf?!
Mika sort of was Number 3. I just wanted to talk about the tag team, but basically Zangief started as Number 3 until he got his new moves after the first iteration of SF2, followed by Mika taking that role once she officially became his student. Also, yes Kisarah Westfield! I didn't think anyone would remember/have heard of Aggressors. I'm talking about her in an upcoming list, so I'm glad at least one other person out there will know who she is off the bat!
Yeah Mika is the better choice than Zang who even in the cutscene can break swords with sheer muscle power.

In the Japanese she's called Bulleta her age is unknown she's only said to look like a 10 to 14 year old girl. She's part of the organization Darkhunter's who hunts darkstalkers for money or their relics as trophies

Arnold Peralta Zangief is beyond human he can break swords with his muscles alone and if Capcom ever returns his glowing hand that cancels out fireballs and projectiles he's superhuman, but yes I agree among all the grapplers Zangief is my top fav along with Alex and Hugo.

Speedwagon from JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Eyes of Heaven, although it's kind of different than the usual fighting game but hey, he only uses his sledgehammer, some gangsters from Ogre Street, and also his Oddjob-like hat, plus, he fights against guys with solar energy, a vampire with a steamroller, ancient tribal macho vampires, some stoic guy who likes to punch people with his ability, a gay priest, the president of united states with alternate reality powers, etc.

Nice choice! Team Normal Guy was just brought up in UMvC3, so Norimaro never had a chance to participate. As a character, yeah, Norimaro fits the description of a good normal human in a fighting game. I didn't want to have too many joke characters on this list since they tend to be more normal than the standard normal fighter, so I ultimately didn't think of him over joke characters I haven't discussed before. I discussed Norimaro in my Strange Guest Character video, so he has at least gotten some spotlight from me in the past.

That's until Zangief was upgraded to have the Green Hand specifically designed to cut off projectiles, so I'm kinda convinced that slightly better choices could've been Honda or two of the Shadaloo Kings, Vega and Balrog
Mika technically is the final Number 3 since I mentioned once Zangief learned his green hand move, it eliminates him from the running, so his student inherits the normal character award for Street Fighter. That being said, Honda's also a good choice and Balrog got lumped in with the other sub-entries for Number 6 since he's a boxer who lost out to Little Mac.
Stryker is my favorite character in the game! Too bad he want in mkx, would've been awesome.

Both were close! I don't have a reason I left Hercule off, so I'll chalk that up to forgetting, even though I discussed him in my fighting game joke character video. Batman's reason was technically in Injustice, he had that Kyptonian Nanotech plot device powering him up, but I only took that into account since the number of normal humans in fighting games on the list before I narrowed it down to 10 was pretty long.

As far as Tekken goes, Miguel from Tekken 6 always struck me as the most normal character in the game. If I remember correctly, he is an untrained fighter who is just very naturally skilled and the only real experience he has is just learning by doing. He basically just gets drunk and then fights, which is why he sways around a little bit in his stationary position.
I guess you could argue that he doesn't really qualify since he was only in Tekken 6 and hasn't made a return in 7. Either way, a drunken street brawler seems pretty ordinary to me by comparison even to Lee.

my entries would have been:
-sakura kasugano (street fighter) instead of zangief. she's learnt how to fight because of ryu but she started off as a fangirl that emulated her idol
-ky kiske (guilty gear) maybe? as long as I remember he's got no powers whatsoever except his electric sword
Sakura's a good one. Since she can still utilize ki, I omitted her, but you could make an argument since she's self-taught. Mika is actually the true Number 3 since she took the spot from Zangief once he received his banishing flat attack in later versions of SF2, but I still wanted to highlight early versions of him that would have qualified him. Ky is also good considering the universe he lives in with gears, vampires, robots and such.

Isn't Pyrrha influenced by the demonic powers of Soul Edge? If there's someone who's actually normal, it would be her mom and her aunt, Sophitia and Cassandra respectively. 😊
The Soul Edge is what keep Pyrrha alive, but it doesn't seem to affect how she fights, unless she's in her omega form. Regular Pyrrha's moveset seems to just be based off her trying to survive, rather than the Soul Edge doing the work for her. Sophitia or Cassandra would have made for equally good and legitimate entries, but I found the Pyrrha one more interesting due to her success with lack of skill before going omega.
@@MrTopTenList It does affect her, but Sophitia and Cassandra aren't normal either, they have "LIGHT power" . If anything characters like Mitsurugi, the Seoungs, Rock.... 75% of the characters are "normal" and still you chose Pyrrha xD

Lee Chaolan is far from an ordinary person. Have you seen his ttt2 ending? Also, he stood toe to toe with Kazuya and didn't, well, die so he does have superhuman strength and reflexes. I'd nominate Lei, coz he actually is pretty much an ordinary human (although still with really good technique) and he chases after people who are pretty superhuman like Bryan Fury and Feng Wei

Arcueid Brunestud Normal by comparison to their in-game counterparts. Zangief and Little Mac are normal compared to a raging demon named Akuma and a pink blob that can kill you by falling asleep (Jigglypuff), respectively. He said at the beginning, normal by comparison to other characters on the roster.

Little Mac is 17 years old, 5 foot 7 inches (170 cm) in SSB and Wii (but only 4 foot 8" inches in the NES version), and weighs 107 lb (49 kg). I always thought that he was a regular sized guy and everyone else was just huge.... nope he's tiny as hell and some examples of shit he can beat up include... reality warping witches (bayonetta), a hedgehog that can break the sound barrier (Sonic), The original and still one of the strongest pokemon in all of pokemon (mewto), and a freakin giant dinosaur (Bowser)!!
I disagree with Frank. Considering the combo weapons, this is him AFTER DR2, meaning he has been through two seperate zombie outbreaks, each at least a week long. I think the top spot should have gone to Wright, who has little to no combat experience and his magic lawyer powers are basically just an extension of investigating the environment or his assistant interrupting the fight.
Also, a good one for the list would have been Nathan Drake from All-Star Battle Royale. An adventurer who goes up against genetic mutants in diving suits, a psychotic killer clown, a cyborg ninja, and the God of War with only guns and guts.
Phoenix doesn't have magic lawyer powers really. Sure there's the magatama and psychlockes, but that's only for interrogation and he doesn't use it in Umvc3 as far as I know. All he's doing in that game is shouting and pointing fingers at people.
That shouting-and-ponting-with-the-finger thing is usually compared to Ushiromiya Battler, from When the Seagulls Cry. He do the same thing. And I don't mean it looks like that, HE DOES THE EXACT SAME THING. Battler fights against magic using blue truth, actually created by magic.
Why am I saying this? Dunno, I felt like it.

daredevilpwn Yes, it is. And not necessarily, people thought magic existed by thousands of years, yet most of that "magic" was some exploding sparks generated by chemistry or medicinal herbs use. There's a whole field to display anti-magic arguements.

As for Frank West, he's a backyard wrestler and journalist. Well, backyard wrestling isn't really fight training, so...I'll let that slide.

MrThorpedro I'm not sure it was ever truly explained but I think it's got to do with the sheer force of it.
@MrThorpedro *it was mentioned that zangief could get away with it to be on the list because he was only updated to have it later in the series, plus they gave it to him so he can deal with cheap projectile spammers. Also the move was removed for him in SF5*

How could you forget that Little Mac is the only character that jumps like a real human being in the game, too? Everyone else has extraordinary jumping heights, well Little Mac legitimately needs to be close to a ledge, like a real human being, to grab it. If he's just a sliver away, it is game over.
Part of the reason is I didn't want the segment to be too long since I also spoke about boxers in general for Mac's commentary. However, I'm mildly surprised that I didn't at least make reference to his reveal trailer when Doc Louis said he's not an air fighter.
***** Yeah, it was just funny that you didn't note that at all. It makes him unarguably the most realistic Smash fighter for that reason alone, that he jumps like a human would. Not that high, obviously, but you get what I'm saying. A real human can't just magically go to a ledge when they're close to it, they have to be pretty much on it to grab it. It's a cool thing about Little Mac that makes him seem the most human for sure.
