Thanks Mike. I bought a 1-way plane ticket to Makati; arriving in 2 weeks on Feb 21st. Plan was to hit Cebu then Boracay after, but I'll prob cut those and focus more on the provinces instead. Your videos have been instrumental in planning my trip.
This resort is nice. Super cozy cozy! It feels spacious and homey. This is the kind of resort that makes you feel relaxed and comfortable. It's not cold luxurious nor exclusive. Just a nice tree-shaded spot for you to while away the airy sunny summer Iloilo day while the rest of the world is occupied at work. Carles, Iloilo, here they come!
What a fantastic resort! You really go all out to show the different type of rooms and amenities. This place is a must stay when I'm in the area. Can't wait to see what the rest of your stay here
you release vlogs more than any other you tuber awesome i see more of philippines i hope you go to mindanao some stage. some vlogers are boring show just one place angeles city walking street .....yawn
Gigantes was and still my favorite spot so far, even better than Boracay. Less crowded, better beaches and just picturesque all over the little islands. Can't wait to go back again and actually stay the night at Antonias beach! Enjoy it Mike! You'll love it!
Carles in the northernmost part of Iloilo. Neighboring Estancia. Always remember Mike, Panay Island only has 4 provinces: Iloilo, Antique, Capiz, Aklan 😅😊 Carles is also Scallops capital of Iloilo
I stayed at Solina in 2019 for 2 nights in a pod, it was much less than what you quoted, it’s a wonderful place especially for families. You’re going to find out that you wasted your money on those scallops because when you go island hopping your lunch includes all the scallops you can eat lol. It’s the best jumping point for Cabagao Gamay. You brought back a lot of memories.
I was thrilled to see this video as my wife and I have a small home just up the road from Solina Resort in one of the many barrio's .. The market area by the city park was under renovation when we were there in 2020 building our home .. we were chased out by Covid and the shutdown. We're planning on a return later this year and a possible stay at that resort for a day or two and were so glad to see such a great video about it. Thanks and come see Carles again ..
We stayed there 1 year ago. But we rented the huts to the far right from your room. We had a beutifull big bathroom with a bubblebath. Weather was not great when we visit but it was a nice place with good service. We lived in Iloilo 3yrs. You already met some of our friends there like Chris Bøhn, littleperson. Understood you had dinner in the german resturant, Bavarian.
Bavarian (& their delicious beer in huge beer mugs) was featured several times in Michael’s original channel. Videos still may be viewed on that channel, I’m sure. Bianca & he love the food (such as the variety of sausages!) & the ambiance. (& the family /owners). 🍻🍺🇩🇪🇵🇭
The owner of that resort is a cousin of mine. That very place is where my father grew up. They are also developing an in-land farm resort but it is not open to public for now. I have been to Solina multiple times even before they open to the public. Missing the place a lot. Thank you for featuring Solina and Carles.
Wow..wow...wow.This is a beautiful resort and more space for your own privacy and lots of amenities. There prices I think are very reasonable. This is a great advertisement for the resort and you featured it vey well. I hope the owner will give you a deal on your stay or even free. I would (wink!!). This will be on my bucket list.
It was calm and peaceful. No electricity. We used a generator only during the evenings. I had fun swimming in the beach. Look for the ancestral house of the Solis Family.
@@ThatPhilippinesLife a lot has changed. Before very few resorts. And roads are mostly rough. So travelling there from Iloilo City takes like up to 5 hours.
Living in Iloilo is advantageous because it is accessible to one of the most beautiful beaches, Boracay and Sicogon Island. On the east coast of Iloilo, where Solina Beach Resort is located in Carles, it takes approximately 3 hours to drive. Boracay is slightly 5 hours away.
Im from guinticgan.... just outside solina... try to visit greenland just ask the locals for the location just 100 meters from solina its a great place it is now dubbed as " Little Batanes of Carles".
Girls run the markets, Guys run the transportation bro, Go to a market and it 90% women doing the selling, nice So Hospitable to, They taking good care of you, 😁, You are a real asset, I found that to here, Where I built, The Hotel pampered wife and myself as Famiy. Still Close to them, Been in house over a year, God Bless
Well the derma shops are in ILOILO. I saw one at the Smallville area at Diversion Road, ILOILO CITY's new central business district. The name is SKINETICS, 5 storeys of a whole package of skin and body care pampering. At the ground floor is a Japanese restaurant. No need to go to Bangkok or Manila. Iloilo is a medical tourism destination. Aside from being the Philippines' UNESCO CREATIVE CITY OF GASTRONOMY.
Wow. What a top notch resort. By any western standard. I'm positive this would be hundreds a night or more anywhere else. I Don't know how you finagle these deals but you are a lucky man.
Huni Sicogon is more Premium than Solina in my own opinion. Where most of the local celebrities stay. Anyways enjoy your stay and explore Gigantes island
I have heard from my friend who stayed there, it's about twice the price of here as well. But that's a almost all private island owned by Ayala corporation including the airport.
wish you would add more info,,,,what island you are on ! we dont all have time to watch every video ,,and follow your every move,, and its helpful if you put the names on the screen of the towns,,so we dont have guess the spelling for our notes !,,thx !

It is! We were there in 2017 & in the kitchen area they have this separate " brick oven pizza " spot & when we ordered they said it was " not available". Couple hours later from our porch we looked over there & there loading about 30 pizza boxes into a van. Wi-Fi wasn't good either & they acted little snarky about giving us a portable unit.

Any surfing areas near there? For advanced surfers?

You haven't said Hockey yet so I don't compute
