Hi Julie & Martin, as I live just over a mile from Ferry Meadows, it was lovely to see it from a different perspective, both from the water and from the drone. Thank you for this wonderful video, as always. Take care Helen 😀 (& Barney 🐕🦺)
What a beautiful recreation and preservation area! I was surprised there weren't more people out there enjoying it, but perhaps it was a weekday and not the weekend? In any case, it sounded like you both had a wonderful time being in that gorgeous environment, and got to visit with so many friends and family. The River Nene has been so lovely; of all the NB vlogs I follow, yours is the first one I've seen to travel on the Nene and share the journey with us. I'm so grateful!
Aww so glad you’re enjoying these river Nene videos. It is a beautiful area and Ferry Meadows especially is stunning! We loved it there. Thanks Chris xx
What a fantastic trip on such a glorious day. I fancy having a go at painting the scene of your favourite bridge on this video. Milton Ferry Bridge near Ferry Meadows I believe. I do like painting scenes with bridges in, so will give this one my best shot. Barry x
Aww thank you so much! We loved the river Nene and this was definitely a highlight for us. We had moored at Ferry Meadows before a few years back when we had our grp cruiser, but this was really special to take our narrowboat, our home and moor there, it’s just stunning! Thank you! xx
Hi Julie, Ferry Meadows is a beautiful place, especially by boat, as it’s quite busy during the day, but you have it all to yourself in the evening. Thank you! xx
Thanks Julie and Martin for the Peterborough video been waiting for that. Lovely to see the river embankment and brief view of the key theatre. The over side river by the main bridge has changed considerably over years. Had wedding reception in key 44 years ago. The 1st big lock you went through as little girl used to go and catch little tiddlers in water a little way to side. Ferry meadows is amazing place walked round with dog on few visits to my parents when they were alive. You had the weather. Always enjoy your video but this meant most for my memories thanks again!
Aww so glad you enjoyed it Sandra! It was so windy at Peterborough so I couldn’t do my usual commentary lol, but Ferry Meadows was stunning! We used to go there quite often when we lived local, it’s surprising how we took it for granted then, it’s such a beautiful place. Thank you for your lovely comment xx
Just watched this video Julie. The scenery is stunning! You are so good with your photography skills. It’s definitely a part of the country we need to explore. 😃xx
We went with my cousin the Sunday after Crick and spent the afternoon there. what a fabulous place it is. It was really super because my other cousin who lives in Peterborough came down and we spent the afternoon with them too. They moor at Stibbington and a lovely cruise. We stopped at Alwalton on the other side and had a BBQ. The kids look just like the ones that gave us grief too. Luckily late afternoon so they went home and left us after throwing stuff into the lock.
Hi Liz, yes Ferry Meadows is a beautiful place, a little oasis in the city! It is such a shame that the kids have found Alwalton lock, it’s quite intimidating when they’re there, not to mention how dangerous it is! Can only imagine what it’s like in the school holidays. Apart from that though, the Bebe is just stunning! Lovely that you got to spend time with your family! Thank you so much xx
Hello Julie and Martin, it's me Shameme, the girl who emailed you!!. Glad to see you're doing well. What a lovely video. The River Nene is SOOOoooooo scenic and picturesque!. Do keep intouch!! 🥰xx
I always enjoy your vlogs but rarely comment. This one is stunning! I enjoyed it so much. Loving the sights of the UK through your eyes from my Oregon, U.S. home.
That cutting at the beginning looked amazing … another terrific video … great perspectives, particularly all those Swans and more my speed, incredible infrastructure…👍🏼
Another brilliant vlog guys, beautiful area, What a great idea with the pull out disposable bbq grill on those seating areas. Seems strange watching you this week on the tele when we are moored next to you 😂
Haha, we’re just about to do the same and watch you leaving the marina! Thanks for the lovely comment, it’s been lovely spending time with you both 😃 xx
Hi guys wow that lake was so beautiful I could get used to that. I noticed on the animal display panel a snake. Do you get many snakes in England and are they venomous? We have to be careful in Aus there are some very nasty ones around in summer. I must say I'm really enjoying your videos, I don't know what I'll do when I catch up and have to wait for the next episode.😯 🤣 Julie I hope you are feeling better I hope it wasn't covid that can be horrible. Stay safe guys and I 'll catch you on the next vid that comes in my feed.👍🏻👍🏻❤❤
Hi Geoff, it was so beautiful there, especially in the evening, when everyone goes home and it’s just us and the wildlife! We have grass snakes, but nothing venomous thankfully 😃 Unfortunately, it is Covid, I’m starting to feel better, but Martin has gone down with it now. Hopefully it’ll not hang around for too long. Thanks Geoff! xx
Ferry Meadows is beautiful and so is the nene between peterborough and Wansford, in fact right up to and beyond Oundle. I loved the drone footage, it looked so green and wooded, dotted with lakes and rivers. Never seen it from above like this . Great vlog , thank you. Are you just a little bit sad leaving the area again, or do new waters call you.
Thanks Tessa, the river Nene is absolutely beautiful and Ferry Meadows is one of our favourite places! It was sad to leave, but we just love going on new waters! Thank you so much xx
Hey Guys fantastic vlog, I am visiting my elderly aunt this Sunday who lives near Ferry Meadows and what a stunning place. Anyway keep the vlogs coming especially the drone footage which I really enjoy. I have a DJI mini2 but I am a novice pilot but seeing your vlogs makes me want to explore more from the air. Thanks again guys 😄
Aww snap, we have the DJI mini 2, that’s what I use, they are great! You are right, Ferry Meadows is a beautiful place! Thank you so much and good luck with your drone! xx
I love these narrow boats but i'd never trust them on the lakes around here. The lake i live on is the size of the county of Devon in southeast England. I mean the lake is the same area as the entire county. and thats just 1 of the lakes. they are wonderful to boat on but when storms roll in, you get 15-35' breakers, and for that you really want a Deep V trawler. narrow boats though are so beutiful and peaceful and would be great for running the rives and canals... just the lakes would be scary.
@@JulieandMartinonRIB we have canal and lock systems off the lakes, but to access them its often a 30 mile or more trip across a lake, or following one lake into the next to get to those lock... @JulieandMartinonRIB My wife Colleen and I watch one of your blogs every night since we found you on TH-cam. We are slowly working our way through them, and honestly, we love every one. We have hired boats on the norfolk broads for twenty + years, so we understand the boating "buz". Regrettably, we never tried narrow boating, (Colleen scared of locks ha ha), so following you and Martin is the next best thing. Keep up the great job you are both doing and looking forward to your next blog already xx
