No way!! the tight Yorkshire man will go find his own sheep. Then Dawn will have it on the new stove within the hour. James is a southern softy, he gets his food delivered.🤣🤣🤣🤣
The Tight Yorkshire man did it in an hour. It took James two weeks (still love you James) the tight Yorkshire man is an absolute no nonsense this is how it goes.
Sorry mate I can't resist, its the tough northerners against the southern softies.we built the standedge tunnel while they were still thinking about how to do it, eating their sausage butties. I know its only banter but in these hard times we need it.😂😂😂 by the way I love James channel hes great. But I'm more a pudding and peas man.😂😂😂
Proven danish stove from the small island of morsø, cast iron with good heat retention adequate burining chamber and variable spots for cooking. Excellent choice.
Word of warning to anyone fitting a new squirrel or swift. .Remove the smoke hood inside the fire (looks a bit like a half cup) its situated above the baffle. These are not to be fitted on a narrowboat which has such a small flue length. Have been to two boats where the soot blocks the chimney. Once removed the fire draws better..and you won't die. Read your squirrel instructions.
Proper Job 'winging it'. Dawn is there too. Nice and toasty, time to get a brew on? It's looking like a really good space now, great decision to keep the existing roof and windows.
Well done guys - the new stove is bound to make your working lives so much more comfortable this winter. One tip I would pass on seeing you spreading that fire cement. Invest a few bob in a plasterer's small tool - it's got much smaller & very flexible blades & would have made that job a lot easier.
Don't forget to seal the top collar fire rope on its own will not seal and keep the water out. I found to my cost few weeks after fitting mine. I heard dripping water. I've used a rubberised high temperature silicone sealant. It's now been done four years and hasn't leaked yet.
@@WingingItBoatingonaBudget Check it as I first used a fire cement after fire rope the heat made the cement porous and broke down resulting in another leak that's why i finally used a rubberised heat sealent. That is still good as the day I did it. Love your videos. You certainly have taken on a project. Can't wait to see the finished result. I'm sure it will be worth all that hard work. Stay safe guys.
Flue silicone would have maybe been a better sealant. The cement tends to crack and fall out. Still working life will be so much better with the heat on
Stupid question is the roof glass fibre. I want to install a wood burner for my 7.5 ton truck conversion. It’s got a glass fibre roof. If I followed your instructions is it going to be safe in my truck??
Weve just bought a Morso Squirrel stove 1412. What size roof collar did you use? It's hard to get a straight answer from anyone- online or in chandlerys.
I've seen it done both ways, and on Nuts n Volts its done like I did this and had no isues. But when I refit it after we build the fireplace I may add the rope just to see what if any difference there is...
Hi guys, reminds me of when I stripped Changing Pace out to do the spray foam insulation, the only thing I left in was the wood stove 🥶 it will make working alot more comfortable. How much clearance did you leave between the hole in roof and the collar? Would try to get some fire proof insulation between if possible. Dave
Heat is vital at this time of year, really didnt want to be freezing all the time working on it. Left a bit of a gap, and during these first burns ive been checking the roof and its not getting hot... but the fire proof insulation sounds like a wise move!
It will just add a bit of peace of mind, even if you don't think it needs it. Also something to think about when you insulate and board the roof around the flue.
You don't want those insulation boards too close to the flue. You can get fire proof webbing to fill the gaps and internal collar to add a neat finish.
We got this by keeping an eye on the adverts on Facebook marketplace. We knew which one we wanted and kept looking til one came up at the right price within travelling distance...
Hi mate I have found a 43 ft boat in a yard in West Yorkshire ( dont want to say where on here) could I ask you some questions, its been out of the water a few years. Its on hard standing so a survey would be easier than having it lifted. My worry is I don't have an endless pot of money can you advise me how I could just walk round it and what to look for. Obviously the marina are selling it without any liability. If I could end up with what you had before you ripped if out I would be happy. They are saying it got a lister engine and the boat is 1970s. Any help I would be really grateful for. Its the same price you paid for yours. If I could private message you please let me know. Cheers Andy
James is coming round with some lamb chops
So long as there's plenty to share for us all, I'm happy with that! 😋😋😋

Love this. Hearing your accent reminded me of the darling singer Kate Rusby. I want one of these stoves in my little house in Atlanta.
I'd not heard of Kate Rusby but just 'youtubed' her and she has a great voice!

We have a morso squirrel on the other boat and love it, so we purposely looked for one for this boat. 🔥🔥🔥
Love it working in the warmth was surprised how thick roof was. Keep them coming great enthusiasm 🙂
Thanks! Will do!
Impressed with your paper tearing skills!
Many years of training for that! 😁😁😁
You make it look so simple! And here I am just trying to paint baseboards...
I'd rather fit a log burner than paint... I HATE PAINTING!
What a difference a solid fuel stove makes :)
Heat, drinks and cooking - literally a game changer!
Got to say it’s coming along lovely can’t wait to see the end result, take care keep safe,John
Cheers, hopefully within a few weeks it will start to feel like a boat again... Although will be a lot longer than that til it's done!
Interesting that you are doing all this and the furnace before anything goes in. Smart
Heat, hot drinks and hot food all taken care of. Logical thinking!
Brilliant! We love your videos. Boats really coming on and your stove is fab. Xx
Thankyou, hopefully over the coming weeks it will really start to look more like a boat again!
That roof cut so easy. Unlike my steel roof. Ooh nice warm boat now. Dry it out as well.
One advantage to wood and fibreglass - easy to cut!
Bonus all round with log burner fitted.
I was shocked at how thick the fiberglass was of that roof.
Get the Kettle on!!!! nice one its coming along!!
I think it's fair to say my priority was ALWAYS making sure I could make a brew whenever I wanted! 😁😁😁☕☕☕
Good move in this weather 😁
Seemed logical to get it fitted. Warmth, hot drinks and food all sorted now!

Don't fill the gap with fire cement. Put the first bit in then force fire rope in the gap between the flu and stove and then top with fire cement

how do you stop all the black gunk dripping down the outside of the flu?
The chimney is double skinned so any residue is sent back down the the inside of the flu..

Do you not need a bufferfly in the flu pipe.
There is enough control on the log burner itself, we haven't needed a butterfly on the one installed on nuts n volts.

Wood?
?
Way too much paper to start it. Also needs more air.
We got there though... Main thing was, not a fire lighter in sight! 🔥🔥🔥
Sorry to be a bum but don’t use paper to start the fire because the chemicals in the ink can damage chimney use cheap fire starter blocks
Never heard about that before... I will investigate! 🤔
You need a bigger pencil mate you can't work with that stub
Hahaha! yes think I should get a new one ready!
