A couple of things. I ran 17 psi with just the stock tensioner and had no belt slip issues. Also, yes, you can run NA in an emergency if you break a belt but I wouldn't run it for any amount of time as it'll be running on the super rich side.
Well actually, if you run ecutek as your ecu tune , the ecutek software will actually regulate the air/fuel ratio & adjust it in real time as you drive. Also I'd say you're very lucky to be running a constant 17psi on the vortech v3 SI blower without any belt slip or over spinning! A lot of people in the supercharged vq community around the world actually suffers from this issue that stillen did not address ! If you look at there previous model supercharger kit from the vq35de/hr, you will noting the tensioner pulley for the supercharger belt is actually on the top of the belt!
@@Patrick370Z it's not "good" but if you check, all your IAT TEMPS , AFR range , & timing degree adjust themselves properly at normal levels while you drive ☺ just don't floor it!
I've had to do it (unfortunately), shredded the sc belt. If you keep it at low rpm, it should be fine. I kept mine below 3k and had no issues. I just didn't want people to think they can pop the belt off and drive it like a normal NA car.

I have a Single Turbo , N/A, & Supercharged VQ & I prefer the supercharger. It definitely gets more love in public as well. Much easier to work on. But turbos are cool too.
If you look at the only LS Q50 in the world @lsq_50 you will see he's been building an ls7 Q for well over 6-8months...the parts list is longer than a CVS receipt..wouldn't say it's cheaper by any means, considering you don't have any clue how much I actually spent on my build. I'd go ask him for advise on it since you seem to be in left field deciding between supercharging your 3.7 & a full LS swap 🤣

There is no manual Q50 unless you swapped the transmission from the 370z or G37, if you decide to do that, the manual transmission will hold up to 650+ ft lbs or torque...you can always upgrade the clutch & flywheel!!
I believe so, just have to make sure there is enough room on the driver side engine bay after your intake piping & manifold is removed, also if the fuel lines are long enough for the return kit, & keep in mind the clearance you need for an intercooler if you decide to go A2A!!

Are all the trans the same in the 3.0t? Or the RS trans is needed? Also is it plug and play electronics wise ? I've been thinking of going manual because I can source the pats cheaper than building the auto. This is the first I've heard of the 3.0 trans swap.
@@pdubsouthwest so yes the 3.0t transmission bolts right up, kinda. the only thong you have to do is drill a slot for the crank shaft sensor in the bell housing & a single piece drive shaft, as far as electronics go, you switch the tcm from your old trans to you're new one. Personally I wouldn't recommend MT swap in a Q50 because you have to cut up the interior & there is really no way to make it look "good". Thats coming from someone who owns 3 manual cars lol
It's a direct fit. Crank shaft position sensor has to be relocated also a single piece drive shaft. I'd also recommend upgrading to a FI billet flex plate.
depends on how far you push your application. out the box with an A-2-A kit & a modified fuel system & you should have a very well running daily supercharged Q50

If it's anything like the transmission that's inside of the 3.0 T as far as lengthwise I don't see why not the only differences you have to cut a slot for the crank shaft sensor besides that the drive shaft and everything else is pretty much identical
I run E85 so it burns quick, but only $1.40-$1.90 per gal. & I fill 2 5 gallon gas cans every time I got & just keep it aside & fill it when I get to half tank at home.

@@vz6235 you & your turbo can go have a room together lol 😆 But nowhere did I say superchargers are superior superchargers are better from a perspective of consistent power delivery, driveability , & reliability that's why I have a procharger on my Q50.. turbos work better for me on with track when drifting because the torque compensates for grip & allows me to have more wheelspeed to break traction on a bank....I use both applications of forced induction on all 5 of my cars 🙏 glad to be in the position I am, if you need any other info from the know-it-all mechanic..you know where to find me buddy ol' pal 👍
@@vz6235 plus, turbos are too mainstream, I know exactly what configuration turbo kit I would need & be happy with the power...but I like the challenge of being only one of few with a procharged Q50 with over the average horsepower threshold, its a perfect builders daily. It brings a lot of value for other people who want to do this build, plus I think I'm the only one in my state with one !

This is "redondoaveb". You know my build 🤣 And actually, it was my tuner that told me not to run it without the belt for any amount of time.

It does, but you need to modify the bell housing to fit the crank shaft position sensor to the vq37 location.

LSX swap is way cheaper than that and you get way more power out of the LS6

Meh, superchargers are power-parasitic and will never be able to match a turbo setup in terms of power and torque.
Turbos will never match a superchargers seamless drivebility & power delivery..you'll learn that once you build a few cars & drive them.
