I tried really really hard to play as a mage last time in skyrim and what i learned is that there really is a reason everyone eventually becomes a stealth archer
I never played a stealth archer in Skyrim in fact never used a ranged weapon I really suck at aiming to a Franky upsetting degree and frankly don't have the patience for any stealth builds I just mostly went for heavy armour orc berserk battleaxe build
13th playthrough and still haven't become a stealth archer, most of the time I am stealth mage or just run and gun, but lately I have been playing as a grim reaper
Nah, pure mage with illusion and conjuration is fun as hell, and being a badass heavy armor tank is more cool. If i go stealth its with daggers and the shadow warrior perk to spam 30x sneak attacks
There's very clear inspiration in all of them -- but this one in particular just reminded me of how I never fail to end up picking the exact same marriage candidate every single time I start up a new save in Stardew Valley, even when I initially plan on trying out a different one to see how it goes, LMAO ^^; *The heart wants what it wants, I suppose.* x'D
There has been studies to show that rewatching favorite movies is calming, since our brain knows what to expect but is still being stimulated. Replaying games is likely the same. You aren't chasing variety, you are looking for cozy nostalgia.
Oh I’m absolutely chasing variety. But I’m also almost definitely ADHD. If I pick a similar play style it's because it's easier for me, especially in new games. I tend to be more timid and stealth everything. But later I just run in and strangely die more. I only started using Conjuration out of desperation when I never used it much before. Was a bit under leveled. So I tried something new cause I was determined to get past the quest. And didn't want to leave to grind. But I do like to switch it up and it will absolutely be harder, as it's more interesting.
Another thing is that so many quests rely on you being sneaky with two prominent factions as well as many other quests. Thus: stealth archer. I've done all melee, and I still used stealth. Stealth is super important. You can always substitute with daggers. So archery isn't necessary for stealth. It's just easier.
"One arrow to the eye!" I'm a 48 year old mother, but I spend most of my time in Skyrim playing a stealth archer who shoots everything in the butt. And I laugh every time. 😂
@@MsLomanita I really should do that more 😂 I once made a library with some NPC's in it whose affiliation was set such that they were always peaceful with me, but if I fus-ro-dah'd in the room, they'd fight each other. It was a scholar battle royale. Come for the books, stay for the blood. 😂

I love the fact that the player cuts off the npc. That is the most authentic quality right there (skipping cut scenes and dialogue on second+ playthrough). 😂
Yeah ik right? Why play only 7 times when you could play over 20 or possibly more times like I have across my whole childhood. 😂 Although I'm usually more of a stealthy dagger girl myself (as a member of the thieves guild/Dark Brotherhood😅) but every once in awhile I do love me a good bow.
Without mods, bow and stealth seems to be the most effective way to play. I use mostly magic, but I have multiple spell mods. In lieu of sniping with a bow. Using the Forgotten Magic Redone mod I cast Discord on multiple enemies from far away. Then when only one's left I use Stormstrike, Ice Lance, or Fire Blast to finish them off. All the spells in that mod are upgradable and when used successfully a % shows up on screen. So you know Discord hit without having to see that you hit.
My first Skyrim playthrough was kinda a mage warrior hybrid (restoration, destruction, one handed.) everything playthrough since has been stealth archer
