ESP-NOW and microROS broadcast string data

  • Here is a demo showing an implementation of microROS, ROS2 and ESP-NOW which allows each ESP32 to broadcast strings of data without worrying who the recipient is
    I imagine this could be used in the future to facilitate Robot to Robot communication similar to V2V (vehicle to vehicle) that is employed in cars
    Robots that need to transmit location data or request help or that need to localise in a robot swarm could make use of this software.
    Right now the name is AetherSync but I have yet to come up with a new name
    Later iterations will allow each robot to send more than just strings of data but a whole host of different message types. Possibly even point cloud data
    Also worth mentioning freeRTOS is being used here where the esp-now is a task and the OLED is another task
