Great videos like a shot from the past of guns that family and friends had back in the day it`s been so long I don`t remember which day. Reminds me too back then quite a few people had those chamber adapters to fire different rnds out of different guns.
Check your velocity sources, please. Wikipedia (from Accurate Arms Data) has it at 3097 fps for a 55 grain bullet - the ballistic twin of the .222 Remington.
No, but from the prices I have seen you probably would want to do so. $65 to $80 a box of 20. Pre-formed brass is also not cheap $1.50 per case, but you can make it yourself from 30-30 which is cheap 33 cents per case and cheaper for once fired.
similar to aftermarket sights that Hickock 45 uses on his older lever action rifles, He just had a vid out 2 days ago with the aftermarket site on it . I think it was a factory option then but could be bought aftermarket also.
It wasn't at all uncommon. Aperture sights mounted on the cocking piece of the 1903 Springfield were very popular. I have a number of old copies of The Rifleman, Gun Digest, etc. that prominently feature such sights.
Just inherited one from my Grandpa. He literally drove a Cadillac. Your comment at the end made me smile. RiP Tutti
Very very accurate I have one 3/4 inch pattern at a 100 yd. Love that gun.
