I'm Moroccan, and you know what? I like yours videos very much. I think that your are very honest and we have a detailed point of you and your perspective. So thank you for the videos, and you're welcome anytime in Morocco❤️
I visited Morocco last month and visited Tangier (Tanja for me, of course), Rabat, Casablanca, Essaouira, Agadir, Marrakech, Tetouan, Samir Marina and Chefchaoun. What I missed was Fez and Meknas so next time. So your video is really enticing me to visit ASAP.What I found amazing was the clean street food as it does not cause any health issues. I wish to go there every month actually.
Yes im sure most are. Its just sad, that there are so many trying to rip you off too. Like people telling you the wrong way, to guide you for money and stuff like that.
Awesome videos. The finer details and nuances. The aesthetics. The tanneries. The camel meat koftas. The background music. Amazing. Keep it up 👍 Much love from Kolkata, India.
Excellent video Chris. Really enjoyed it. We are looking forward to visiting in April and this will be so useful! I had a quick question please, where exactly is the colourful district of The Arab Muslim area please? It starts round the 14:17 mark of the video where at some point you show a bird with a Fes in Fes.😊We would love to visit these narrow streets and was wondering if you had a nearest landmark that we could point to in our map. Do you reckon we’ll be ok to walk around this area without a guide? We already have a planned guided tour for the main Medina. Thanks in advance and keep up the good work!
Thanks and no problem! The area you're looking for is the mid-town - Fes El Jdid. Look for Semmarin Medina Gate on Google Maps. There's Quartier Moulay Abdallah, Mellah (Jewish district) and the royal palace. All a fairly easy walk from the medina and I did it solo without a guide. There's not as much hastle around there as in the old medina.

I found your videos yesterday Mr. Funfair. I'm very glad I did because I have travelled extensively throughout Morocco, a country I love. You have captured all aspects of the country very well.
Loved your blog for Fes and the Desert Tour. What is the name of the Riad you stayed in Fes? It looks very good and we plan to book it for out trip in November. What time of the year did you travel to Morocco?
The University of Al-Karaouine (also written al-Quaraouiyine and al-Qarawiyyin) is considered by the Guinness World Records as the oldest or first university in the world, established in 859 AD in Fez, Morocco (Guinness World Records, n.d.).
Hello Chris! Your vlogs are very good. What did you think of the prices of rugs and tapestry in the places you visited in Morocco? How much do they cost? Are they made by the people even there?
i have so many questions -- going to visit FES too and going to vlog a bit. I would like to ask you, Crhis were you recording the video with a camera or a cell phone?
Fes is an interesting city. Its just sad that so many people (try to) rip tourist off. And yes i just got ripped off when buying ceramic for more than dubble the price and found out the true price later.... It is not just about paying too much, but also more about feeling cheated afterwards.
Such lame comments after the video, one saying Google map doesn’t work and asking how to get around. Why not just get lost? Or asking him how many days they should spend in Fes. These commenters are feckless. Aside from that, a good video and Fez is one of the best places in Morocco. The walls and cemetery outside of them magnificent. And the city park he showed- 1975, Marci and I waiting there under a full moon to head towards the desert at midnight. He fails to mention in comments about the Mellah, the Jewish quarter, that there ain’t any Jews left. Maybe a few. All left since the Arab-Israeli wars.
Partially, I hired him for a couple of hours in the morning to show me some sights in the old medina as I didn’t have much time. It’s a handy way of saving time not just by avoiding getting lost, but also avoiding hastle and fake guides.
@@sealand000 No, just through my hotel. I ended up with bad food poisoning in Fez so in the end only had one day to explore, I had to make the most of it!
Here a little info guys ! Do you actually know why the streets are so narrow in the madina’s !! The reason is that in the old times if the city was under attack the invaders couldn’t fully charge with the solders and have too fight and the rest have to wait in line for there turn to fight and that is after you breached the wall that coast half the man and bye the time you would take the medina you have no solders or defender’s left . Like modern nuclear war attack is Equal to suicide
Hey Chris, I'm From Fez Medina right next to the blue gate. the reason for having food poisoning comes from the camel meat you had at the market. the butcher not selling good quality meat in my point...
I see you don't have a guide because you missed a lot of monuments in Fes like the first university in the world is called alkarawiyin and other beautiful places

Chris, I’m going to Fes in June. How were you navigating around the Medina? I understand google maps doesn’t work…or did you have a guide.?
Hi there🌺
Gorgeous video, very interesting 🙏
Thank you😀
Fez is fascinating. I'll be there for the 5th time next March. Can't wait to see my friends!

Thanks for this beautiful video

There are riyades with incredible swimming pool at the ziyat place in old Medina
I love the hidden beauty of some of the riyades in Fes. The place I stayed was stunning, no swimming pool though

What time of the year did you travel to Morocco?
Thanks, it was Riad Damia. Do check the latest reviews as it was a while ago that I was there. My trip to Fez and the desert tour was in May
❤FES 👑🇲🇦👍.
Brilliant video mate 👏
Thank you!
Great video like all your Morocco videos. Little talked about fact, Fes was once the largest city in the world according to some historians.
Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed the videos! Interesting fact, I can believe it from walking around the medina.
I love the simplicity of your videos❤

Hello Chris! Your vlogs are very good. What did you think of the prices of rugs and tapestry in the places you visited in Morocco? How much do they cost? Are they made by the people even there?
Thank you! Sorry I would have no idea on rugs and tapestry, I wasn't looking to buy either so have zero experience.
Handmade textiles are much more expensive than machine-made ones, because handmade textiles are of higher quality
Did you get to go inside the “oldest university”? I have heard it’s very beautiful
No, sadly I didn’t get to go inside

In this place I purchased my nice lether jacked.
Hi Chis. Have you see any gyms during your travels?
It’s not something I’ve been looking out for so I couldn’t say. I’m sure you’ll find some with a quick hunt on Google though

Can you give the info/name of places (riads) where you stay? What time of year did you go?
Sure, I was there in May and stayed at Riad Damia. I wouldn’t recommend their smallest rooms but the bigger ones are decent
How many days do you think are enough to spend in Fes ? We are restricted to 3/4 days
Personally I was ok with just a couple of days there
Great video! Thank you for sharing. One question, in your experience would it be safe to visit the Medina during the evening? Cheers!
I only went in the day myself. As long things are open I'm sure it's fine, if things aren't open then there's probably no point being there anyway!
رائع ❤
Thank you for watching!

What place did you stay at? And do you recommend it?
I stayed at Riad Damia Suite&Spa. I thought it was good at the time, but check the latest reviews online. It was a while ago that I was there
I see what you mean about the reviews. Did you stay years ago or months ago? Thanks for the quick reply!
Thanks for warning the chicken to flee...😊
