5yrs per edition should be the standard. Plenty of time for us to get to play with all the rules before they change them and we have to wait again.
They change the rules every few months. Three-year edition cycles are a problem only because of the cost of codices and rule books, but they don't do that much to contribute to the cycle of rules changes.
The extent of the post-publication rules changes to the Sisters and AdMech codices is pretty wild.
You don't give our lord GW enough money for 5 years.
Or how about refine the rules and only release a new edition to update and balance?
Eventually, it gets nailed down and no more rules need be published.
After all, they said themselves, they're a model company and not a rules company (in answer to us fans complaining about the rules)
@@theophrastusbombastus1359 That's hilarious and I wish it wasn't.
Valrak vocabulary lesson 1.
"This are rumors" = "I've seen the models, furthermore I have them right in front of me"
"These are rumors, I'm playing with the new models right now"
@@monsterxs8383 😂😂😂
@@monsterxs8383 but they still aren't painted
Arent we getting a little ahead of ourselves here
He's iron hand now
Yep
Not even slightly. Especially now they have nailed down the 3 year life cycle, they can look ahead to the next set of rules they will spectacularly mangle, on purpose, for the NEXT 3 years.
Yea thinking 11th ed was going to be in 2025 is crazy pills. Was always going to be 2026
Of course but it's GW's schedule. Stop buying their kits and especially rulebooks if you want to stop this kind of schedule.
40k is literally turning into the "just consume the new product" meme
Turning into? You know it's been like that for about twenty years right? :P
This is what 40k has always been, grow up.
This is the way
@@DT-ce1fb not realy. Before 8e it was bearable. Tactical marines was tactical marines. People could play with the same models for 20 years. Now it's a hamsterwheel of FOMO.
Welcomes to 5th edition.
I feel like the Tyranids narrative fell flat pretty quickly because they don't know how to give a horde/hive mind army a personality. Stories could be written from the viewpoint of the army observing the tryranid invasion, but imo other xenos factions have greater access to introducing characters that have a meaningful impact on the reader.
I liked the voting campaign GW did at the start of the edition to determine the fate of the planet. In hindsight i think they could have continued this interaction so that we can be the 'hive mind' at war with different factions in different systems. They could have ran store campaigns as well.
Anyways thanks for listening to my ted talk 😆
They had a reference through the Tyranid campaign in Battlefleet Gothic 2, where the perspective of the narration was through other characters being in a horror movie.
I mean they've done it before. Devastation of Baal had the lictor POV, a more recent example is Victoria Hayward's Imperial Guard novel which focused on the Guard during a Tyranid invasion which was excellent. Even the Cain books have decent depictions of Tyranid invasions. They just didn't and decided to do everything else (i.e. Pariah Nexus) instead
It's not a narrative, it's just a set dressing. The 4th Tyrannic War is as much a worldbuilding detail as adamantium and chainswords.
I'm thinking the end of Crusade: Nachmund story will end with the Lion at the front of a combined Unforgiven and Sanguinary Brotherhood force.
I know people are excited about him going to the Nexus to see his brother and fight Vashtorr, but this makes more sense from what we got with his story.
Necrons are also on Armageddon so an even bigger fight. Have the planet's fate be decided by player's victories I think will be the best choice.
I haven`t even built my 9th edition boxset WTF!!!!
I haven’t even built my 8th edition boxset LMAO
I've built my 9th and 10th get crackin!
Game of thrones nun: Shame, Shame, Shame
I've built mine, just haven't painted them yet. Gray shame!!! 😅
Bro it’s been 4 years lol
This fast edition cycle is tiring.
It's 3 years!!
Now if you spent 3,000 a month like Lord GW needs you to spend.. you can get a few extra years..
@JoMARKESE-o1x maybe it's too long a time for some. But before the AoS/8ed release speedrun started, it was quite common to let an edition breathe and develop.
The Grey Knights refresh for the battle at Armageddon makes perfect sense. You're onto something, brother. New threats means new Grey Knights
Maybe Vulkan is still at Armageddon 🎉🎉🎉🎉
The galaxy was torn in half and the Grey Knights got a new Crowe. Guilliman was resurrected and gave the galaxy Newmarines and the Grey Knights disappeared into the background so hard he forgot to give them any. Angron came back with infinite regens and the Grey Knights lost 60 brothers, including a brother-captain, an event supposedly not important enough to warrant Draigo returning (and maybe getting a new model). The Mechanicus started pumping out better terminator armor and every chapter of Marines got them except the premier Terminator chapter, the Grey Knights.
At this rate, I expect Armageddon to involve everyone _except_ the Grey Knights. They'll probably even find a reason to bring in the Exorcists and the Ordo Malleus en force, and have some briefly mentioned line about a threat to the galactic East consuming the chapter's resources. There is literally no reason to think the Grey Knights will take part in anything major.
Grey Knights player here, in case you're wondering where all the salt came from. :P
@@DanielScutt The secrecy of the chapter has been so well-kept that new GW staff cohorts aren't really aware of their existence, just of ancient armor marks and some old treaties with Deimos. They have a bunch of relics in the vault, but not the key nor the clearance lol
I like it when Valrak looks me in the eye and says nobs.

Wel.. stop hidinz ad a hummies.. and show your self.
I have major edition and codex fatigue, I love the models and the stories but have no spare time to build, paint and play, I've given up watching batreps as I have no idea what's going on
In an alternate Universe GW ditches codexes for free online rules and nice lore books every few years as well as the odd campaign book everyone can buy and play together.
@@emchamberlainThis is the capitalism universe though so it's more likely for gw to move new editions to an annual thing.
You never mention how absolutely close to Terra Armageddon is. It's technically closer than Leviathan has gotten, so a much bigger threat if contested.
It felt like nothing happened this edition, hope 11th brings the excitement back
I was excited at launch. Haven't played in well over a year now.
i see salamanders i click
Vulkan lives 🔥🔥🔥
I think we might need an extra year in the edition life cycle
Armageddon is the only regiment beside Krieg and Cadia to receive more than one page worth of lore in the new codex. Definitely raises some eyebrows about the future for Guard in 11th.
I'm really worried we still don't have any rumors about the world eaters... They need aa second wave
@@ragnarokivae6136 best they can do is one character
Thousand Sons have been waiting for their second wave since 2016. Good luck.
God I hate the edition treadmill. It takes them 3 years to get all the codices updated and the last few only get a few months of relevancy before they're for the old edition.
They have a larger range of games now... 40k, KT, 30k, Necromunda, Underworlds, Warcry, AoS, ToW, Lotr, 30k Epic, Bloodbowl etc. Based on this they really don't need to be doing 3 year cycles
We're only now gotten the end of the 8th edition story (Mortarion, Dawn of Fire, Dark Empire). So now we're getting the 9th edition story with the Necrons and Pariah stuff that leads towards the Lion and the Nachmund whatever.
Dark eldar player since 8th here
The saddest part, there's no rumors about Dark Eldar, not from rumors nor whispers of warp. I hope if we get the last codex this year, we'll get something good or more. Well sad when almost entire miniatures from finecast.
11th edition should be Dark Eldar, not orks!
As a person who wants to collect dark eldar as my second army once I'm done with Necrons, I share the disappointment
@@charmlessgentleman I hope if true, dark eldar was big bad guy in 3rd edition, it is time.
DE was my very first army when I started back in 4th ed. Got really into them during their refresh going into 5th. Kinda crazy that practically all of the models are same with only minor I upgrades here n there. Hopefully, the rest of the line will be released in plastic again at some point.
Imo it's plausible that Orks vs Imperium setup will be the end of edition campaign rather than the launch of 11th in the same way that the Imperium vs Chaos campaign was mistaken as being the launch box for 10th Edition. Valrak seems to be getting his information 2nd hand from people who are looking at future releases and then interpreting what they are seeing and sometime these interpretations are wrong. Drukhari makes the most sense of anything for a launch edition faction given the age and holes in their range.
Man i remember joining at 8th and thinking it'd last a while. Now every edition is only just long enough to sell poorly balanced codexes and poorly planned campaigns
Being a warhammer fan is half being excited and half being annoyed that everyone complains about something they love like they havent always just been a consumer. Yall just grew up and things got more expensive. Just because one half of the company is ran....idk like a company, doesnt mean that its shit and that we should let GW burn.
Rejoice brothers! The Beta build of 10th is on its way.
You need to see the crusade book. 11th edition is night lord's vs. white scars boxset . Chaos bikes, dread claw, drop pods, raptors, new stuff for the white scars. 11th is fast attack.
Then here comes Jaghatai
Chaos finally wins. Gets the Gauntlet. Of course the Imperium just happens to find a side-road so it doesn't matter.
Well I'm glad 11th edition isn't coming sooner than next summer :/ 10th has been... well it's been a bit mid in many areas bit I'd like some time to use all the new upcoming codexs
I just want another Space Hulk edition. Praying to the emperor this happens too.
I hope we finally get Nazdreg in 11th!
fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me; fool me 11 times...
What about Grey Knights?! They were shown in the picture collage….
We are keep talking about armaggedon and not mentioning Yarrick
We're only halfway through tenth and everybody's already fawning over the prospect of eleventh edition.
3 years is the new standard edition length
It's normal to look to the future when you here whispers of what might be.
Yeah but the sooner they can ram a new edition out the sooner they can increase prices across the board again. Shareholders need that cheddar.
Tbf, 10th is about 2/3 or like 3/4 the way through and people where sick of 10th almost as soon as it launched.
That's 'cause 10th is shit
GW would miss a trick if they dont do an armegeddon campaign in the style of the Badab War books
All i care about are the rumors of the return of my boi, Vulkan. Orks vs Salamanders would be a great way to bring him back and somehow have him still fighting the Beast after 10k years😂
Dark Elder, we need something meaty to replace the tantalus
gw normally do a new edition around june/july and it was pretty solid that it would be next year as gw do new editions every three years and have done since 6th ed.
rules cycle
2024: aos new ed
2025: horus heresy 2.5
2026: 40k 11th ed (probably a 10.5 rather then another hard reset
I want to see a grudge match between the Red Angel and Da Pofet of de Wagh!
“You really going to die over a human, Greenskin?”
“Sumone iz!”
Commissar Yarrick is not dead. Maybe it will be Abaddon or Angron who does the dirty deed. That would surely piss off Yarrick's best frenemy, Ghazghkull Thraka, who will not take kindly to being deprived of his 'Old Bale Eye.' Good foes are hard to come by
Suddenly it's VULKAN with the steel chair.
If they allow digital bones to create the 11th edition trailer, you know I'm buying like 10 boxes
Angles to lights on the ceiling create an arc. But definitely don't make the ground a ball.
Even if Orks vs Marines was pure speculation it would still be my expectation. It can only be Orks or Dark Eldar anyway, no other army is going into a box against Marines. Orks totally suite a wide range release and are a popular army and, are a thematic threat to the galaxy like Necrons and Nids.
Gaz vs Angryron as revenge for Warboss Ole Bale Eye’s death
Cathay will have an awesome range of models representing the armies of the Orient. Can't wait to see them.😊😊
I was hoping the 11th edition announcement would be longer gaps between editions and a revamp on how rules in general are released. I don't know anyone that likes 40k and how they go about rules.
What about the rules, models are temporary but rules…rules are forever!!!
Fast attack refresh next edition would make sense. Im still better on The Khan being the next loyalist to come back so a fast attack refresh that they could use to push Scars would line up. Plus theres also the fact that Dark Angels Deathwing got a refresh this edition while Ravenwing wasnt touched. So doing a general space marine fast attack refresh and giving the Ravenwing their unqiue variants would also make sense
I really like the existing Nobz kit, so I may have to get some more before it disappears.
unlikely I know from a 'boxset' perspective, but I wanna see some crossover collaborations in 11th, something really different: . . .
Dark Vs Light, the holiest of Saints Vs the nastiest of Sinners:
Sisters + Black Templars + Grey Knights Vs. Emperors Children + Night Lords + Drukhari (yes, I know we (NL/EC) hate Xenos!!...humour me)
With 10th having Sternguard and Ballistus Dred, it is totally plausible that the 11th boxset has a Landspeeder variant and Vanguard Vets. Not sure what else they could toss in there but instead of making more weapon specific units, a remade tactical squad or devastator squad mixing in all the different armor mark parts would be cool. You had mentioned recently there was talk about finally seeing that mix and match rather then just Mk. 10 all the time. I know the orks need a couple kits updated but I am not sure how many. Any new ork model is always welcome though! Now most importantly, WTF is Huron Blackheart?!?!?!?!?!
armageddon story. Yarrick fights angron 1v1 and that is how he dies. However his death is what allows angron to be banished again.
We need so many plastic models For Dhurkari..
I can't wait for the space wolves refresh
Long time fan! Exciting new edition. Side note what's the choir track/music you use in the background?
Monday morning waffle is just what I needed, thanks Val
Can't believe Valrak's comments are outnumbered 3 to 1 with bum bots
What an insane non-consumer friendly business model.
With all the factions we got now i wish will go up to every 4 to 5 years for a new edition, it feels really cramped
And now super special codexes for chaos
Thank you Chapter Master.
Call me crazy, but a new narrative surrounding Orkz and the 4th war of Armageddon would be the perfect setup for Vulkan to return.
Definitely not next year - But maybe at the end of 11th?
As always, just report the bots here and move on
Vulkan and the Old Man. Would be better as a Guard and Ork box
"I am Valpharius. Rumors are lies."
With the Tantalus for the Drukhari stealthily disappearing, does this make it more likely that our beloved Asdrubael Vect is returning, riding his Dais of Destruction?
The Tantalus has vanished from the Field Munitorum, no longer has a datasheet, is absent from the GW app, and isn't even listed in Legends. Of course, it's out of stock in the store-but given the general availability issues with the Drukhari range, that alone doesn’t mean much. However, the disappearance of so many references across multiple sources seems too deliberate to be a mere coincidence or a simple oversight at GW.
Additionally, it's interesting to see how much the lore has moved away from portraying Yvraine as a major player in the latest Aeldari codex. Once the supposed savior of the Aeldari race and a unifying figure between the Aeldari and Drukhari, she has now been relegated to the leader of a small and extremist cult. Eldrad, Jain Zar, and Lelith no longer associate with her. How the mighty have fallen.
Could this signal that GW has abandoned its misguided attempt to merge the Aeldari and Drukhari into a single faction-something none of us wanted?
With the Drukhari potentially remaining an independent and unapologetically evil faction, there’s room for more intriguing stories centered around their machinations. This could even pave the way for the return of some beloved characters like Lady Malys and Duke Sliscus-or, at long last, a long-overdue refresh of the Drukhari range.
I'm hoping it's new vanguard veterans and a primaris version of the tactical squad, then most old firstborn units are covered and we'd be able to use old firstborn units or primaris for either.
You had me at multi-part outriders
11th edition is the ZOATS EDITION
Saturnine pattern!? Emperor be praised!! I thought they were retconned
Man I wish 10th edition get a year so these codex can be played
3:45 Boyz, I love orks but I wish 11th edition was match between Grey Knight vs Chaos Undivided
Damn. I joined at the tail end of ninth and havent even finished collecting a solid 1000 points for my necrons just been building and painting what i have. Hopefully they dont get rid of the models i pick by twelveth at this point
I had a feeling they’d do Armageddon again. I hope this is true. Also tyranid kill team set
if we are getting a starter set which might as well be called assault on black reach 2 then hopefully we also get plastic steel legion
If we get 11th edition before 2027 I'm going to just give up and go TTS only at this point.
They always launch in summer when sales will be better received, the end of 2025 was a dubious claim to begin with
It appears that GW has slowed down with Kill Team, since we have no idea what the next box will be and when it will hit the stores - I presume they are just shuffling some stuff back due to hitting max production output they can achieve.
what if the rumoured saturnine dread is an homage to the 1st ever dreadnought
with the release of the nachmund gauntlet narative book, could we hope for new chaos jump pack models as a surprise release? like come on, night lord raptors are literally on the cover and we got the new and awesome jump pack chaos lord recently
A a very casual player, as soon as i catch up to to all the rules changes, they change editions. So far I'm stuck 2 years behind. I hate this. OPR is looking pretty good right now.
If the Orks win at Armageddon, it's serious, because the planet is in the solar system (on the edge in the south)
Im still thinking we will get 10.5 ed rulebook. The rules have been changed so much that the book is a pale shadow of itself. Though, with that said, the same thing will happen to 11th edition, 12th edition, etc.
they must release all codeces at the same time or face either e revolution or a mass dropout.
maybe 11th edition wont just be a slow deluge of classics being sent to legends
What i need is brand new dark angels. Particualrly raven wing amd ezekiel
Horus Heresy new edition, bolstered by the Black Library announcement of the new Scouring book series. FYI
I haven’t even opened my Leviathan boxset yet!
Is there anyone else who gets put off by the constant changing of editions? I haven't played 40k since 7th edition. I don't have many friends to play against. And even when I do, we usually end up playing Middle Earth. I now have a friend who is going to start 40k. I'm actually fairly hyped about finally getting into 40k again. But I don't have a 10th edition rulebook and I'm sceptical about getting into it if we are going to see a new 11th edition soon. Especially since I bought indomitus with every intention of learning the rules and learning to play, but the one friend who i would be able to play against took covid very seriously and took ages to come out of lockdown, meaning by the time we could start to play, he was a) not bothered anymore and b) 10th was out. So 9th passed me by and it feels like a blink of an eye that I bought indomitus. And now 10th is quickly passing me by. And now I'm thinking if I get 10th, I may end up only getting a few months out of it. Its just too quick a lifecycle. Do I wait for 11th? I don't know. We've just had to change editions for middle earth and its worse than the previous edition. What if I wait for 11th and its worse than 10th, just like what happened to middle earth? It's just ridiculous to have to keep playing catch up and for the game to keep changing, not necessarily for the better
It's a little disappointing to see Orks getting the starter box position. I mean, the drukhari seem to have no models left. Is it not time they got a big update, like maybe a starter box. Same with Leagues of Votaan who have such a tiny range. They need a big refresh more than anyone. Seems like they could do with it much more than Orks.
Hello mate, great video again. What date have you heard about the EC boxset going up for preorder? Was it the 15th? Just so I know not to touch my wallet until then 😅
They could have the orks come in with a folded chair and beat the shit out of chaos and the nids. That way the pressire is off the Imperium for a bit and they can recover without it being a 'lol the imperium just wins' because the orks are still orks.
New Edition Starter Content Revealed: 2 x Five Man Monopose Squads and a piece of paper with a QR code to download the rules as PDFs (accessed only via Warhammer+ - 1 month free trial included). £250.
Valrak rumors are fact. The only 1 he got wrong was the BT Ancient
So it begins...
Any whispers about what’s coming next for Legions Imperialis?
They need to finish the Dawn of Fire series and start the next series. They may as well start it with Armageddon, as Nachmund is already mostly known. The one issue is that this entirely ignores the Fourth Tyrannic War, so who knows what they'll choose to do? I know that people may not be so enthusiastic to buy new primarch models and they can ruin their lore if they bring back another one and he gets the Lion treatment.
It's sucks that they are taking forever for Cathay because that is what they previewed along with Kislev years ago when they said that they were going to bring Warhammer back.
I want to play it, but I sold my High Elves in a fit of rage over GW with them ending it the way they did. Now I don't want to rebuy a whole new army again. Warhammer Fantasy Battle is what got me into this, so I don't know if I will ever forgive GW over them ending it and bringing it back like this.
Maybe if they made a full Araby army, I would. Or something Ottoman or Safavid looking.
The Foil is like the butchers Nails, Mate, You cant scape them
7:35 Kick the imperium down a notch- make us crawl back to our old ways and look at our selves in the mirror and make changes and make imperium 2.0!
*WAAAGHHHH INTENSIFIES*
Hopefully GW give us back some kind of force org chart, I'm so sick of C'tan spam.
I hate that release an army near the end of the edition and a month later they rrlease a new set of rules and indexes again, they did it with the wolves a few editions back, i picked up the codex, got an army ready and then got hit with the index for nearly a whole edition...
Going to assume the reason why they haven't closed the story in 9th and 10th edition for Necros and Tyranids is because they wanna make a pseudo 'end of times' scenario where different factions deal with a greater big bad.
When drukhari
C'mon double green box, Salamanders vs Orks run it back
