What they show here in this story (and so many Chinese dramas) is just a pathetic man who thinks a half hearted “I’m sorry” will magically earn him forgiveness with no real work or evidence that he has truly changed. 😂 a story with a good redemption arc is great-IF they show the male lead realizing his wrongs, apologizing sincerely and in a way that shows he understands he is wrong, working hard on himself and to right the wrongs he has done -with no expectation of forgiveness but because it is the right thing to do-these stories are good. But they almost never show this.
