Next month will be 2 years since I purchased my 2016 F150 and the X-act Contour mats. They have been great for protecting the carpet. They clean up really easy and look almost new each time. I also have the rear mat. The front mats fit perfect, the rear mat almost perfect. I use my truck for daily use; I live in the city...so the mats do not get heavy mud/wet usage. I am very please after 2 years.

Nice review. I had WeatherTechs in my last F-150 and Husky Weatherbeaters in our van. I prefer the pliability of the Husky, the WeatherTechs deformed quite a bit over the years, curling up on the edges. Went with Husky in the new truck and like them. Both are lifetime warranty and made in the US, I like that.

I'm just curious as to why you chose the weather techs? not to be bias towards one or the other I've just heard a lot of people prefer weather tech vs husky (I prefer the x-act contour between the 2 husky models). Is it more of a popularity type thing like well everyone else has weather tech and they like them so I'll get them. Or is there particular reason such as certain features people enjoy more? thank you!

I own a detail business and have been detailing vehicles for almost 20 years! Weather techs make life SO Much easier as you could imagine! Theonly thing i do not like about Weathertech is the black color mats....they ALWAYS looks like absolute ass when they are dirty...when you clean the black they just look all scratched up and really faded looking...i have a light beige color interior in my truck so i have the tan ones and they look brand new everytime i clean them up...as well as the cocoa color we have in the ol ladies jeep overland.....I def recommend WeatherTech, but would avoid the black color if possible! They just do not clean up as well as the other ones, they show ever single scratch and always stay looking dirty even when cleaned up, afte using them for awhile of course

If you want to shine them up once they look like crap after awhile they become very slick..and trust me I've tried MANY different dressings and sprays and anything that actuslly works and makes them actuslly look decent makes them really slick.. Ive had weathertech in my last 3 or 4 pickups and opted for the RAM oem slush mats in my new 5TH Gen ram and I like them a MILLION times better than the weather tech options for these new trucks, so that's always an option too! The ram mats have a much better fit and finish to them and look alot nciwr with the ram logo etc..

      @jimshort9266 2 ปีที่แล้ว

@@DirtNassty … I was wondering if you tried 303 protectant to shine them up. I’m not recommending 303, I’m actually curious. I have only used it a few times on exterior stuff. I doesn’t leave a high gloss and it’s recommended you wipe it off after letting it sit a bit so it might not leave a slick surface. I don’t know though is why I ask. It could leave it slick and it may not hide the scratches well. If you don’t have any experience with it I guess I’ll just have to give it a try.

None of the 3 would let that amount of debris through to the carpet. I'm a Husky Weatherbeater fan. I've used them in 2 trucks and a car. They look good, after years of use, and keep your carpet looking like new.

@@mtkreger I am a fan of the Husky Weatherbeater's as well. Had them in my Ford SuperDuty & they worked great. Easy to clean as well. In my 2016 Tacoma, the factory floorliners were very similar to the Husky Xact fit & they were nice too but required more to clean them & keep them black. I found using a tire & wheel cleaner on them worked best to keep them black.

I have a set of the weather tech ones in my main vehicle but I thinking about getting these husky rubber ones for my truck. I find that the weather tech ones make the car sound a bit louder inside since it is so rigid. I really like the idea of a more maluable rubber mat that reflects and possibly deadens more sound.

Dude, two things. It may have helped to prove the effectiveness of the liners if your carpet was clean. I have a 2016 and my carpet still looks brand new. I use the factory rubber mats but I keep it vacuumed out. Secondly, do you think you may have had a better opinion of the Husky WeatherBeaters if you had the proper model and fit? I will thrown in a third, what about price and warranty in the comparison as well. I recently found the WeatherTechs on their site for $199.99, the Husky X-Act Contour were $209.95 and the Husky Weatherbeater is $119.00 on their site. All three for a full set front and back. Otherwise, great comparison because you actually show them in the truck and I do understand as you stated so well, "it is up to you because it is your truck." Thanks for the review.

2nd, no I don't think fitment affected my opinion, I just didn't care for the material is the weatherbeaters but I know a lot of people do.

I own weathertech’s in a different truck.in mine and in most vehicles I’ve seen them in they don’t fit well. They usually end up with weird gaps near the trans hump and kick panel area. I tried heating mine to flare it out wider so it would be a tight correct fit but still didn’t help. I won’t buy them again I’ll probably go Husky or 3D maxspider. I have seen the maxspider in dozens of vehicles and they always fit great.

I have the opposite opinion. I’ve had weather tech mats in my old cars but due to the plasticy materials once you get it dirty it never looks clean ever again. The plastic material shows every scratch and the only way to make it look clean again is to use tire shine which defeats the purpose.

Had my 2018 f-150 for 5 days now and this video just made me drop $107 on amazon!!! I have husky mats in my ford edge and ill be going with weathertech this go around. They have the best coverage where your muddy boots are likely to rub on. Very high sidewall coverage is where im basing my decision this go around. My husky mats are very nice but after 6 months they start transforming and peel away from the walls. This was a constant battle that let dirt beneath the mats. Had to use a 3m double sided velcro to secure them. It worked til the summer heat kicked in and then they gave out.

  • @budman46360

I recently purchased a used vehicle that had a Husky rear floor cover
but had to remove it. The material was decomposing and emitting a foul
smell that was reminiscent of a very old vehicle left out in the sun its
entire life. Additionally it was curling up making it look awful. I
have since purchased a complete set of Weather Tech mats (as I have for
several of my past vehicles) and have been mostly pleased with them.
The only negative thing I can say about them is that they don't extend
upward all the way to the top of the dead pedal and of course that is
where the ball of my foot generally is. So as a consequence water/dirt
can easily get behind them. Unfortunately I know of no other brand that
    completely covers this area

Maybe put a piece of that tacky clear film dealers use to protect there cars carpets and their courtesy vehicles.Or just any clear vinyl on that "dead pedal" area.Overlap it onto the mat so the water will go down the mat and not behind. Its just an idea to maybe remedy your issue hopefully it works or gives you an idea that does.End rant.

Great video. My primary objective is to contain winter messes and prevent road salt from getting onto my carpet and staining it. With that in mind, I feel that Weather Tech is going to provide the best protection from the elements. I like the visual design of WT, the locking mechanism, and high sides. I would prefer a more rubbery mat, but ultimately protection will be my priority. The OEM rubber/all weather mats in my Honda Fit, particularly the driver’s mat, are shamefully inadequate and not inexpensive. It would be nice if Weather Tech would give us a choice on the firmness of the material, as Husky does, but price aside they seem to edge out Husky in many reviews. I’ll probably stick with OEM for the rear seats, as I don’t carry passengers that often, and have not experienced carpet staining in my 3 years of having this car. Weather Tech seems to be like Apple in their no haggle no discount pricing model. They also seem to take longer to ship. In the end, it’s all about interior protection.

ronnie greher I feel the same way. I want to replace the OEM liners in my new GMC Sierra; which are very nice, but have a large area underneath the accelerator pedal that I can’t stand. I like the X-Act contour Husky’s, but I want maximum coverage for muddy boots and winter slop.

brs rafal There is a very good video on TH-cam where a guy talks about three different floor liners, then he actually puts all three, one at a time in his truck which shows how much each liner covers the floor. Then at the end of the video he puts the OEM floor liner back in to show how little coverage there was. It’s a very good, informative video, you should watch it.

Had weather tech for 2017 f250 platinum , they are OK often over priced , they will deform after a few years from heat and cold, now have the xact contour and I feel like they are better since they are more rubber like and will mold better. Also weather tech fades faster I didn't like that
