Home 2 our heartless Council destroyed communities by bulldozing often good housing that may have needed some repair that was very feasible. These homes were ALWAYS labelled slums so that whole districts could be flattened including little family run shops. This vandalism destroyed close knit communities .Of course they got away with it

@@johndean4765 Its shocking how a handful of people in a council can devastate whole communities with their own short sighted stupidity. Who keeps electing these morons.

Destroying so many of the terraced streets shops and pubs was an evil thing to do as it split up close knit communities.. and they then replaced those streets with ugly 1960s buildings that are soul destroying.
      Same thing happened to London.

I was born in the Princess Mary Hospital on City Road in the centre of Newcastle in 1969 and I've never left.
The city has changed but not as much as the people. And no, it's not immigration. It's the amount of snobs and kids who have no respect.
I still live in a council house but the once lovely area is now like Bogota.
As a young lad, nobody cared if you were skint, if your garden was a bit untidy or whether you were in work or had a car etc. Now it's like our neighbours are strangers, the youngsters never play outside, the teenagers all smoke weed and the elderly are scared. The people my age seem like privileged snobs with there only source of entertainment being fake tan, teeth from Turkey and Facebook gossip.

John Fenny the successive governments decided to betray the people of the UK and really want to see the destruction of the British way of life and this is happening in every city town in Britain. Even in the 1980s we never felt like a foreigner in our own country. Its all been planned to destroy British way of life and culture force rents and house prices sky high and create division the divide and rule is part of the evil plan.
