Got my turned boat cracked by rivered quads last night as well brutal feeling... later got Aces in vs kings and queens and lost the main pot vs kings luckily broke even with the side pot ... pretty brutal ...
I had the same thing happen for the first time in my life. my card holding 10s flop 9-10-9 turn brings the 9! river brings the last 10 in the deck. They guy shoves I snap call his all in off and he has 9-4 off lol
I want to say got crushed by quads after flopping a full house like 4 sessions in a row back in 2015 when I used to play as a hobby. It got worse as I was then crushed by a straight flush and then a royal flush. It's not all doom and gloom as I always played small small stakes and still was up like 3K that year. But yeah, to note I've never hit a quad, royal or straight flush unless it was a large multi table tournament where they are worthless. So you can still have terrible terrible terrible god awfull $#!+ luck and still make money if you have patience and self control.
Uh what? Who was being cocky? I’m trying to record the hand for the Vlog. No one was celebrating and in my mind I’m way more likely to be losing to overpairs like AA/KK who have a two outter. I’ve lost enough of these types of hands to know nothing is guaranteed.
Ya I think their regular chips are meant to be consumed daily and so even the spicy version of their bigger bag isn’t so bad. I am NOT looking forward to having to eat this thing haha.
Imagine the flood of excellent, quick, fast, professional dealers that thier hiring during this time..... lol well a slow dealer is better than no dealer 🤷♂️
The funny thing is I feel like many seasoned veteran dealers actually become quite lazy/slow because they’ve become disillusioned with the job...much like many of us do with any job. I think people used to tip way better and so they’re making less than they used to 5-15 years ago and now they’re just going through the motions. I’m obviously not a fan of it when someone isn’t trying their best at their job but I also understand where they’re coming from. I’d like to think if I were a dealer I’d be trying my best to deal as quickly and efficiently as possible in order to maximize tips but who knows. Difficult to put yourself into the shoes of others.
@@CzechRaiseCharles I think he missed the bad beat because you didn't show the other players card and we actually thought you won. I had to watch it 3 times to make sure
Usually you need to play both of your cards to qualify for bad beat, so if river is a T it still wouldn't qualify? Unless your poker house allows just 1 card.
So in this room the kicker just has to beat the board. He had K6 and so his kicker would beat the board. Thing is the qualifier at this casino is quad 7s must be beat and so quad 6s wouldn’t meet that threshold which I had forgotten.
Turns out you’re almost right...I asked today and it’s quad 7s. Woulda been funny if I got excited and then got the news 😩 I’ll have to mention it in the next video. Thanks for the reminder
Can you explain the rack attack again? Is the money given to the players evenly? Or the rack of money is added to the next pot? Not very well explained
they call a random table every 30 minutes while this promotion is active. usually like a 2--3 hour period. if its a 3/5 game that gets called then the casino throws a rack of $300 into the pot. every player that is at the table and has a minimum buy in qualifies to play and is dealt a hand. The hand plays as a limit hand instead of no-limit so basically everyone gets to the river if you have anything remotely possible of winning. So yeah the winner gets an extra $300. the pot wont be much over 300 since its limit
Yaaaa just gotta suck it up and move on! It’s a cooler for him too really so I think about it from his perspective. He should have the best hand there with K6hh so often. Ah well!
@@CzechRaiseCharles Two nights ago I’m Dealt king jack off, Preflop raise three callers, bored is king, king, deuce, yadda yadda dude rivers a 8 for a boat. 1k pot. Oh well. Still up for April. 😎 Really digging your format. Keep up the video grind. 🙌🏼🤘🏼
Ya they’re fairly similar in shade but they’re actually different type of chips entirely. The 100s are like metal smooth chips which you see a lot in Southern California card rooms and the $1 chips are heavy clay. The $5 chips are plastic feeling so it’s literally three different types of chips 🤨
On the T9 hand, I thought you might check raise, like your name suggests, and turn your hand into a bluff. Really, what could he possibly have on that board where he bet so small on the flop? Calling, missing and giving up is kind of boring.
Hey Joe! Had he bet smaller on the flop then I likely would have attacked his sizing. He bet 55 into 75 which is pretty large and part of why I wanted to just check fold out of position. If his turn sizing was smaller I’d think about check raising there as well but it actually felt like he was much stronger than he was. All reasons why playing out of position sucks with ten high :( I think this is just a turn fold as played.
Was really hoping a 6 would of came and you would of had the nut straight vs his 9high straight. You would of gotten all the money. Don't think it's a bad call on the turn, just unlucky. But then again only a few 6's to run out to make that possibility
Ya a turned 6 would have been perfect! If I had more knowledge of how splashy he is and how wide he bets I’d have raised the flop in retrospect with only one person left to act. I think OOP for that sizing the turn is a fold unfortunately :(
Hahaha exactly that!!! Perhaps the title for my next awful session 😆 now hopefully I won’t need that inspiration for awhile! Have you come to Lucky Chances at all recently?
@@CzechRaiseCharles if i decide to play live i will go to Graton. I’m too old for discomfort 😂 plus i had very poor experiences at LC when they had the manual wait list outside where i was treated with very little courtesy.
@@sfjeanfrancois ackkk sorry to hear that! Ya I’ve started coming here in triple layers to keep warm. I unfortunately don’t have enough time to make round trips to Graton. Hopefully we play together again some day :)
Oh yes! Haha it really is so hard to get things scheduled like this when you have kids. Most my free time for the next few weeks is 9am to noon at which point I head to get my son from Kindergarten. He ends in 6 weeks then goes back to a daycare program with his younger brother which will be 9-5 freeing me up more during the day. Otherwise nights are difficult unless I specifically carve out a time.
Ya that seems to be the case. I’m hearing most employees are making just as much off unemployment so they don’t care to return. Also many of the dealers here were older and already thinking about retirement so they decided they might as well do so now which makes sense. It’s a well paying job IMO for a fairly low barrier to entry.
Sorry to hear about the bad beat. And sorry to hear that you'll probably have to take the one-chip challenge. (Though I'm glad we'll be see the latter!)
And it didn’t even register for a few seconds 😩 I’m guessing it was probably a three outter as I expect the other guy maybe had like AA/QQ or perhaps AKcc and drawing dead 🤷🏼♂️
What was the total of the bad beat jackpot bc u said you'd get 20000 ... that means the loser the other guy would have got way more then that since obviously u would of won the hand if a 10 came
So it’s 100k total here. 20% to winner, 50% to loser and the table shares the other 30%. I had forgotten there was a minimum requirement here though which is quad 7s beat so I wouldn’t have gotten anything if I hit a 10 other than the pot 😆
I’m really trying but I think I’m a day short! Being busy with family this weekend really set me back. Going to have to find a way to put out two the last day or it’s chip time for me!!!
if your 10th video is a video of you eating the chip, do you therefore not have to eat the chip? #thezenofpokervlogs keep up the great work man looking forward to this month's dramatic finish!
Hahaha I actually thought that might be the only way I could get to 10 by months end 🤣 now I have a major headache and feel awful tonight so I may just throw in the towel for the rest of the month. It was a valiant effort if I say so myself.
I’ve gotten some tips on how to deal with it. I’m really going to try to attempt to avoid the milk and see how long I can go before I lose my mind. Very likely to be a bad idea.
