you missed the hand where daniel tells the guy he has pocket Ks and can not beat pocket KK but informs the opponent that he knows he has KK and bets so the guy assumes daniel can beat KK and lays down the winner
I've done this to someone who had a set of 9s at the casino and then I jammed all in and he folded the set of 9s because he thought I had a set of kings. I had a bluff. Ace high. Was insane wordplay.

I agree so much! I don’t play poker at a high level whatsoever, but these explanations help me get a better understanding of the full breadth of a player’s thought process.
The most impressive thing about Daniel Negreanu is his his hair transplant. No joke, his hair transplant is truly WORLD CLASS. If I didn't know who Negreanu was (never seen old footage of him) I would have never known he had a hair transplant.
Great Video! On another note: 15:00 Few things at the poker table piss me off as much as someone who is not in the hand talking to someone who is. Especially in an all in situation. Just shut up until the hand is over...
Excellent video. Great commentary and insight. I’ve watched so many different channels on poker and enjoyed yours more than any other one yet. Thank you! 👍🙌

Daniel's overall body of work in the game over all these years has him FIRMLY as the best player ever in my honest and humble opinion. He's simply beyond special.
Ive been playing online poker for 18 years, live for 30. Ive studied Negreanu and my reading skills are always complimented by people who watch my streams, friends etc, little do they know i learned all of it from the master. He may not be the best player ever, but his reads are uncanny.
can somebody please explain to me why is Foxen winning at 20:45? Obviously i'm new to this. edit: i get it. 5 best cards win, and foxxen can have 2 pairs with an 8, while neg has 2 pairs with a 3
Because the board paired and the winning hand at that moment became 8(high)-K-K-9-9, daniel was basically playing the board with 3(high). In texas holdem poker you are making a combination of 5 cards. Sometimes, the best 5 cards are the ones on the board.
he can be a motor mouth (and I do think some of it is calculated to push his opponents around subconsciously), AND, he always stays civil and respectful, and earns so much respect from his opponents. The last two clips especially are just great players having it out and conceding respectfully to him playing really well. love that aspect of the sport.
I think Negreanu and Helmuth are some of the absolute top players to ever play the game. The difference in them is that 1). Helmuth is easily tilted. 2). Helmuth is just unlucky. You can't count the number of times he makes the RIGHT call on the flop... on the turn... and gets a bad beat on the river. It happens FAR too often to be coincidence. He's just unlucky. 3). Negreanu is neither lucky nor unlucky. He just makes great calls and the percentages, most often, fall in his favor. 4). Negreanu is very charismatic. This is the most deceptive part of Negreanu. He uses this ability to read you by being charming and talking up the table. It's effortless and disarms almost every single player in the game. 5). Helmuth has better instincts. When he listens to them, he lays down lost hands almost every single time. He has GREAT instincts in the game.
Could you create a compilation of instances where Negreanu's assessments are incorrect? Given the sheer volume of televised hands he has played and the amount he talks, it's inevitable that he will occasionally get it wrong.
Watching Negreanu play justifies me not pursuing this as a career when I started beating my friends and locals at the pub and thinking for a minute I could make something of it lol. It's like thinking you can be a pro golfer but can't read the greens on day 3 after a little rain and some afternoon sun. It ain't gonna happen, you're just not smart enuff lol. Good call me! haha. Damn our boy is WICKED SMART! :P
That last hand makes no sense. I know I have hindsight bias, but the small bet for value? To get him to fold? That last bet did not help her out at all. Literally could only hurt. Four options 1: Negranu calls. She wins. You are telling me he would call with less than a 9 in his hand? 2: Negranu calls. He wins. Very likely to have above an 8 there. Or a secret full house (unlikely but not a possibility) 3: Negranu folds. You win. He may have been ahead, but hard to see him folding any face cards. So you are saying he has a nine ten, or maybe a jack? 4: Negranu raises you. Now you have to give him the chance to double up just to see if you were already gonna win (with mid odds) As opposed to: Just check. Either he already is beating you, and you keep him short stacked, or you beat him, devastating his stack. The raise makes no sense. Brilliant raise by Negranu. She pretty much gave away her hand with the raise.
Was wondering if I was going to be clickbaited with an AI-commentated compilation of super-old hands again, but nope; recent clips, great voiceover giving some helpful contexts but not detracting from the hand as a whole... very pleasantly surprised :)
Daniel is the greatest of all time for me. I know people say it's Phil Ivey, but he never talks at the table so those 'sick reads' could be luck. With Daniel who speaks out loud you can't blame luck or anything else.
Can someone explain 3 bet and 4 bet in this situation with what the blinds were and how the bets equate to a 3 or 4 bet? I thought you have to raise by the previous raised amount. If someone 3 bet, how can someone 4 bet right after? Wouldnt the next raise have to be at least a 5 bet?
never understood poker here, can anyone please explain how on the last hand vs foxen, she had the high hand with 8 7... wouldnt his 3 beat that? with the trip pairs?
I've gotten autographs from 14 Main Event champs on a Stetson hat. Only one ever refused to sign. He's in this video. (I also drew a sketch of Negreanu which he happily signed.)
No doubt the guy is a good player. One of the best. The thing is though that this guy talks every hand, he's constantly guessing what other players have. It's part of his read process, so if you record enough of his games, he's going to get a lot right because he's constantly guessing.
He's reading while he talks; the other players have to withstand the barrage of words and not react, and most can't not reveal info while he's "yapping". Its weaponized yapping and if you can't see that you're missing out on why he's one of the two best players of all time, period, full stop, bar none.
@@zbou23 I'm guessing you didn't read my post. I said he's "one of the best". The comment was on these videos that make him out to be some clairvoyant by guessing exactly what's in your hand.
