This is not even footage of Stalingrad, the general of the 6th Army „General Paulus“ was the leader of the attack on Stalingrad. This man is non of both so this cant be footage if Stalingrad

The coldest game in the NFL game was in January 1982 where the air temperature was -23C and windchill factor of -38C. The game was around 3 hours and the players who were in that game were seen with awe to play in such harshly cold condition. The battle of Stalingrad was fought in unusually cold winter of 1941/42. The temperature was said to drop into -30C (my estimate windchill factor was probably around -40C). I can't imagine the brutal and inhuman hardships that soldiers from both sides had to endure during that ferocious and savage battle for many months. Poor supplies of foods, warm clothing, medicines, and appalling sanitary conditions made matters extremely hard. I have nothing but the upmost respect for those who fought this war.

It really annoys me when people get historical fact wrong on the internet they seem to think that it isn't as important as if it was written in a book. But forget that a lot of people now get most of there information of line.

All of you argue over who is better now that you're all safe and cozy in your homes. Both sides German or Russian suffered greatly. Most German soldiers were drafted or thought they were protecting their children and the Soviets were fighting back against an invasion. Does it matter who is better at taking life? For the record the Soviet Union was extremely poor and going through inner conflict already. The fact that they managed to push the best army in the world (at the time) all the way back to their capital speaks enough.

my Father was in the German Army during WWII....His division was south of Stalingrad and ordered to move north and help the 6th army break out. He told me he couldnt believe what he saw when the Russians ordered thousands and thousands of men to attack them and many with no weapons. It was a slaughter as they were attacking a Waffen SS armored division. But , the Russian attack proved to stop them before they could relieve the Germans in Stalingrad, as the Russians had more expendable soldiers than the Germans had ammunition. He estimated that his division of 15,000 men had inflicted casualties of more than 200,000 Russians at the very least before they had to retreat because of the risk of they themselves would be encircled. His most disturbing memory was that of Russians soldiers that got close to the German lines screaming comrade, comrade in an attempt to surrender because at that point they were too far away for The Russian snipers to kill them for desertion. But the Germans had to cut them down as they would have overwhelmed their relatively small division. After that battle my father knew the war was lost. That the Russians would sacrifice so many men meant that they didnt care about losses as the much smaller German army did/
