I worked here as a waitress for a few months and couldn't take it. You have to say "made from scratch sides" and "fresh baked bread." I wasn't able to go to the bathroom or pump (I was nursing my daughter at the time) and so I had to quit. It was rough working nine hour shifts full of milk, pee, and an empty belly. The tips weren't worth the upselling pressure or physical stress.

My wife and I just ate at a Texas Roadhouse Restaurant this past weekend. The server was very connected to everyday life. Shared her experiences similar to what we’ve been going through. Did an excellent job. 😊👍 Food was ok, it’s very hard to get real consistency with food. The more variety the more opportunity for failure. My wife loves steaks but I can’t chew them as easily as she can. But we visit occasionally when we know we can get in without a long wait. 😳🤣😂

Worked there as a server for 7 years. It was okay for the first couple of years, but it got old pretty fast. The whole following a script thing was not for me, what made it worse is they do hire secret shoppers to make sure you’re saying everything word for word, you could be the best server in the world, but if you do not describe the steaks as “hand cut steaks” then all of a sudden you’re job can be at risk. Following a script should not define how great a server is. I could not stand the birthday saddles, because when you do one, then you end up doing it for everyone else because the attention is fun. You will seriously get people that are like, “hey my birthday was 2 weeks ago …” my last location I was in they kinda stopped prioritizing line dancing when Covid hit but the first location I worked at they treated line dancing as if we were rehearsing for a concert. That on top of management playing favorites, and horrible clientele it was the motivation I needed to pursue something greater, because I did not want to do this by age 65 (I went into real estate and I’m so much happier).

Misleading, but Mashed definitely did their research for this video. They’re unfortunately trying REALLY hard to find the negativity in one of the best restaurant environments you will ever see. Texas Roadhouse is one of the best jobs I’ve ever had and the food is “legendary” because it’s actually really, really good.
This video tries to make it seem like Roadhouse only cares about upsells and like they don’t care about their workers but from what I’ve seen and from my own personal experience, they treat their employees with actual respect and the culture Texas Roadhouse cultivates makes you want to try your best for them. It might sound weird to say that you want to try hard for your employer, but in actuality I WANT to try my best because I’m also serving and talking to real people that want good food and good service.
Some people may have had a bad experience either eating there or working there, but the vast majority of people I know that have been there really enjoy their experience. I hope this helps.

@@tcmaddox Well I did say "for the most part" but also that part was a "one Reddit poster said that their friend said..." - since its not a first hand account we don't know what the context was or if it was even true.
If true it could just be a case where the person off that day happened to be at the restaurant, maybe to pick up some paperwork or something from their locker, and a line dance was forming and they were asked to join in...
But it is more likely not to be true: hard to picture the restaurant being so short handed they needed a dancer and not somebody to cover a shift... and highly unlikely they would pay somebody to come in on their day off to sit around in the back and then maybe come out once per hour just to dance

I like/prefer their 'early-bird' dinner specials, but as I recall, they are only available Mondays thru Thursdays. That's being chintzy. Also being a solo diner most of the time, I try to sit at the bar, but the bartender-order takers there aren't always adequately attentive, expecially (somehow) when you want to pay the bill, and this can include 'disappearring' for periods of time, I have noted. Bartenders (everywhere, actually) should never leave their assigned station/area uncovered/unattended except for bathroom breaks.

Local Roadhouse doesn't have nor require line dancing. Lunch specials are during I week I think, likee 95% of other fucking restaurants. The HEART thing is weird and they demanded verbiage is weird. Though the steaks are hand cut, so I am not surprised the mention their locations specialty. Also, employees upselling is standard in most places. What the fuck does Mashed have against this company and all their hatchet jobs against them ? Which most is complete bullshit, however some is subjective bullshit. My algorithm has gotten so weird, but Mashed is mad. The birthday thing most people love, a chunk of guests get into it, kids are ecstatic , if you don't wanna don't. Do they do this will all brands ? This shit is liable level lol. I gotta now check other spots I frequent. Next Mashed will repot McDonalds has a man in clown makeup or or burglar who loves hamburgers is "stalking" around.... #forfuckssake

If the food is terrific, there's no need for all the extra BS. Many people are disgusted with the fake jabbering, dancing, yelling, etc. The owners better get with today's program or the TX Roadhouse will be history very soon.
