My way of judging every NMA song is how fast will this make my drive on the highway! And if I get pulled over, I will sing... "I did nothing Wrong!" ... Great track, pre-ordering!
This one might not hit home as immediately as some of their other tracks but I'm sure it'll grow on me over time. Can't wait to hear the rest of the album
First Summer After is an absolute gem, I Did Nothing Wrong will need more time. I love the sentiment but the musical content certainly isn't pleasant. New Model Army do this every now and then but before you know it you're familiar with the song and LOVE IT. That's how I see I Did Nothing Wrong going.
I like it and can't even spot the difference to or the big step away from their older material. It's still the acoustic guitars, the tribal drums, Justin's voice, the crescendo. Everything's there. So what?
I can't stop listening to the track. Not sure why all these greatest hits fans have turned up again to insult the track, Maybe have a little read and you will understand what the track is about as you are still stuck in the 80s. It's a great track about a miscarriage of justice that is currently going on, Great song.
Looking forward to the rest of the album ahead of Northampton gig in Feb. For once, not travelling miles to see NMA - about 4 if I'm lucky :) Agree with OP that First Summer is a gem, this will take more time but the "broader swipe at the 'brutal, binary, digitized world'" - Guilty m'lud. We'll all be using QR codes on our phones to gain entry (please don't print your tickets people). Enjoying the current NMA sound (he says whilst still playing Betcha) 😄
Indeed. I mean, personal taste is valid and if you don't like a song, that's ok. But to presume that a band like NMA don't do what they do exactly how they want to do it, is stupid and arrogant. Plus: being a 50 year old fart I have come across so many so-called "fans" who just want their bands to put out the same songs and albums over and over again and can't cope with change and development.
@@BlackAdder665 I came into my "superfan" stage in 2005, and met the Family in 2010. I have now seen NMA live 27 times in 6 countries. And my personal take? I don't know any other band who are releasing their most powerful sounding output 45 years into a career that has literally never stopped.
@@csantana1971 of course you can, you have every right not to like something, but do you need to tell everyone. Like I said, after 40+ years, you try keeping up to the standards you expect from someone, maybe you could write better songs for them. That's all I was saying 😃👍
Every album is different, some are top drawer some not as good but I will say ,the last album was as good as it's going to get at this stage of Justin's career ,I'll hold of judgment on the new album after it comes out.I'm sure there will be a few gems in there.
I got forced dragged even... Into a guys room... In the army.. I know sounds bad.... But no.. He always dressed weird.. And would shout weird things.... Then he put ON NMA..the green and grey... And whispered... The truth.. Listen. Hooked.
I thought the same the first time I listened to it. But it's definitely a grower. Not their best song ever, but a good one. I don't like the mixing by the way, and I have to say the same for "First Summer After". It sounds unnatural, like coming from a closed box.
@@aberdeenrailstation1391 Justin Sullivan said that the mixer had hardly changed the material sent to him. Perhaps one reason why the sound is so raw. I've noticed that too.
A band that has put out amazing records consistently for over 40 years. Can't think of another band I can say that about. Thank you NMA!
Every record is a classic, all killer no filler. Even the B sides ❤
Great song. Grows on you with every further listening. Great bass line by Ceri. The new album is sure to become another highly rated one.
In support of the Postmaster's who did nothing wrong, well done Justin 👍
😂😂

Brilliant. Builds nicely. Perfect for when they play live. Thanks NMA.
Great Track! Only 10 more days to go and I can't wait to hear all the other songs of the new album!
Gonna see them live tonight!😊♥️
Thanks NMA for once again summing up the current day. It's needed today more than ever!
Love it. A very different track and sound. I bet it sits really well on the album 🤘

Loved It INSTANTLY!!

Or a memory gets attached to a song to originally didn't care about now its one of your anthems (for me it was Vagabonds)
yep that was my first reaction and I can't stop listening to it now
Love it, reminds me of NMA from the time in between the first albums and the most recent.
Excellent ❤
Well done NMA for supporting those families who have endured suicide ,jail terms all through no fault of there own .👍
Class...thank you ❤ see you in Leeds x
Thank you Justin! THANX New Model Army!!!

Amazing track. Can’t wait for the full album 🔥

NMA Back ❤ Justin and Band Glück auf!!! We are looking forward to hear and see you in Germany!!! Do you still Play Football after a gig?
One thing is certain. I already bought my ticket to watch NMA in June. 🤘🏻😝🤘🏻
Shame this wasn't released before the ITV drama. But in any case well done well said, Justin and NMA top class as alwaya
Great song, a real grower, keep on fighting for against the computer says NO mentality ..
Evocative , haunting . A lot going on ,kudos
Canción extraña, muy diferente de todo lo anterior. Me ha dejado un poco frío. Deberé escucharla más
1st play … what a tune

So, no one can comment on a song because as a consumer, you have no rights to diss?!?! 😂

Fourth time listening I love it!
Not the best song they have written but i can see it coming into its own live, i hope they play it on their upcoming tour.
another cracking tune doing 6 of the european gigs but please come to cardiff
01:17 ten bass :D
see you in the pogo, with all my love and brotherhood!
Timely.
Excellent song. The sentiments are very, 'White Coats', though aimed at technology rather than science.

Ok. 👌👌👌👌👌👌👌
A band that always cuts the crap however….follows popular opinion!

A grower not an immediate click. But I bet it kicks arse live. See ya in the pit ;)
"one of the finest albums of their long career. Really?
The 1980's want you back. They miss you 😊
sorry it might grow, but this is not a good nma song
