    Maybe it depends on the point at which the resignation takes place?
    e.g. in this game, the person felt sure they were going to lose, and there were fewer than 20 tiles in the bag, so imo that's fair.
    (If there were still 50+ tiles left in the bag, that's a different story...)

      it does but it's still consider poor sportsmanship to resign because you decide you're going to lose. Just play out the game and let the person have their win

    it's amazing how the etiquette changes from game to game. In Chess it is seen as insulting to continue when the game is obviously lost.

      Makes sense.
      In Scrabble, you keep score... and in clubs, tournaments, and online, players would keep track of their average score per game (many liking to get 400+).

      Oh of course mate. I understand why people do resign in Scrabble. There should be a massive penalty for resigning. ​@@AfterwordClub
