    Absolutely loved this scotch. I've traditionally liked the more peaty brands, but the sweetness of this brand was so organic and true that it made me an instant fan. It currently sits at the top of my favorites list.

    Extremely underrated, this scotch is absolutely amazing. Always have it in the cabinet. Beautiful honey note, creamy buttery sensation. Spice and dark chocolate...leaves you wanting more. Of course Horst has it spot on, he is a pro.

      Had the 21 year and absolutely loved it. Picked up the 12 year on a whim today and, while it's nowhere near the quality of the 21 (seriously, get it), it's EXCELLENT as a daily driver. Good thing too, because this can be an expensive hobby! Really like it!

      I was introduced to it at Sam's Club.

      Insane value. Great taste. Very approachable single malt.
      My new go to Scotch.

    Nice review, Horst, and agreed, this distillery's visitor center & tours are great, I've been there last year & was enchanted...plus they have several "bottle your own" casks & fancy whisky souvenirs. The "blending Museum" called Dewar's Whisky World is very interesting too...

    Islay scotch has been my favorite region right from the beginning of my scotch journey. I have always had mixed feelings about highland scotch. This is the first highland bottle, that I really enjoyed. The honey vanilla, and orange/fruity flavors do not overwhelm each other, but flow real smooth and balanced. This one will be added to my cabinet as a keeper for sure.

      You should check out his older reviews. He was much more contemplative and pensive in those... he'd whisper sometimes. It was really great to see the passion he put into his reviews. It's less apparent now, he just talks his way through. I guess it's just different. But I miss his old style. That's what got me into whisky in the first place!

    I just can't drink whiskey I have tried a few times but is a big no for me, even with the first sip my stomach and nose say no. For a reason Aberfeldy was the one I was able to drink a few sips with no problem. I bought it as a present to my best friend - huge whiskey lover - when I visited Dewar's distillery in Scotland and insisted on me trying. Nice video

      Don't give up. I too hated whisky. I had a mental block from bad experiences with cheap bottom shelf brands, but got reintroduced to the top shelf varieties by an aficionado friend. Never looked back. In fact, became somewhat of an aficionado myself! Slainte!

    • @Whiskycom
      @Whiskycom  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      No, when we talk about our impressions and tastes of whisky, it just means that we are reminded of these aromas, not that they are necessarily used in the production process. At least this is the case with whisky, but if we smell coriander in gin, for example, it is quite possible that actual coriander was used in its production.
