- Another distillery tour I've been dragging my heels on editing together. Aberfeldy, the home of Dewar's is known for its friendly & honeyed style. I typically look for a more aggressive character so had to give their exceptional & single casks a try 😁

Lovely video Ben. Thanks for getting round to it. I haven't tried a lot of Aberfeldy, (the 12, 16 and a ltd release of 18 yo if I remember correctly) - and always felt it has the potential to be a very interesting and rewarding malt, as I think it has an interesting, pleasant profile and character. So come on, Dewar's: up the ante on the ABV a bit or release some cask strength expressions, already.

It's nice to watch while enjoying a pour of 12 year. It's not my favorite, but got a bottle to try it and do still appreciate it.
They do make some good stuff, the asking price just gets far too much for the whiskies I enjoyed 😂

Any plans to visit distilleries in the coming months? Have they re-opened for visitors?
Most of them seem to have re-opened now, though some are just doing the basic tours.
I'd really love to, but with Jo @ 37 weeks pregnant and the associated financials it's probably a little ways off 🤔 I'd really love to make it to Campbeltown & Arran on the next trip.

@@WhiskyGeek I had a Special edition dram 21 year of Aberfeldy that I should have got it is coming out soon but I regret not buying it.
Good tour video Ben 👍, enjoyed watching it, don’t really like the white label and the 12 is well, should I say quite a nice nose but a really thin mouth feel. Slàinte Ben.
Yeah the 12 doesn't really engage me, but the 21 & exceptional cask have far too large of a price tag to engage with me either! Nice stuff to get to try though.

Do you know which it was? Their 'house style' seems to be aiming for the opposite;- super easy & gentle. I was much more interested in the exceptional cask and single cask I got to try.
