- With three games remaining, Jimmy Johnson has his Cowboys focused on catching the New York Giants in the race for the NFC East crown. Standing in Dallas' way on an overcast Saturday afternoon at Giants Stadium is an 8-5 Jets squad with ideas of a playoff push of their own.
Will Boomer Esiason and the Jets pull off the upset at home, or will Emmitt Smith continue his MVP season with another standout performance in victory?
Verne Lundquist and Dan Fouts call the game for CBS. Enjoy!
I was at this game and was happy to see the Cowboys win. The Jimmy Johnson years were great.
Yes they were
Me too
Man, there was nothing like these Dallas Cowboys during that era! They were what the Pittsburgh Steelers were in the 1970s. Had Jimmy Johnson not left they would have won 4 Super Bowls like the 70s Steelers did, instead of 3, possibly 5, or even 6. With Jimmy this team was built to win championships over a long period of time, and yes they were 'built' to be called "the greatest team ever " , but came up just short of being called that. Instead, they're called the best team of the 1990s.
Love watching the Jimmy Johnson teams you can tell the difference in coaching once he left 😢
Remember this game so well. The stadium was full of Cowboys fans!
Loved it that Kevin Smith after his interception td went straight to the Marines so their moms & daddies would have that moment.
I have to say this is the best cowboys team ever
1977 was the best Dallas Cowboys team ever.
77 was the best Dallas team I agree but the 92 team was better than this 93 team I'm a huge Dallas fan but the 77 team was a juggernaut
I sure miss the good old days😢
At 3:16 of this video Verne Lundquist calls our team the cowgirls, maybe because they're kicking everybody's ass at the time.
Hard to believe that the Cowboys would play in Giants stadium for two of those three weeks during that season. Two weeks after this game, Emmitt Smith, would suffer a separated, shoulder… And the rest was history.
Last NFC team to win Back-to-Back Super Bowl's
Remember this game well, I was 13. Sadly the Jets would lose the game and every other one going 8-8 and missing the playoffs. Should have kept Coslett another season and kept this team together for another run.
The Jets had back to back late season collapses in 1993 and 1994. And it was with 2 different head coaches. Bruce Coslet and Pete Carroll.
Love the pre game intro in the description. This is what its all about
I miss those Jets uniforms.
See how committed they were to atleast run attempts
"I can't hear you, I've got a jet in my ear!" Pat Summerall, a classic.

1:32:56 now that's embarrassing .. first td in 4 games ?! wtf lol
People remember Kevin Smith now, if they remember him at all, as the guy who got destroyed one time by Randy Moss and as the “other” Cowboys CB to Deion Sanders. Less recalled is how good he used to be as the Cowboys best corner and that it was an injury to this budding star that caused them to go out and get Deion in the first place. Evidence of how good he (and Larry Brown) abounded in the 1993 season.
This game provides a few examples as does the fact that *nobody* got behind the Cowboys defense that year. Jerry Rice and John Taylor had two shots at it that year and came up short each time.
Me personally, I don't remember him for the few times he played Randy Moss at all.
Real football 90s the last of a great decade in the NFL …. Not now we watching wwe everything is fixed
Kevin Smith was going to be a great one but he never really recovered from a knee injury a couple seasons later.
I call Pete Carroll the "Crimson Chin" from the cartoon.
Pretty weird schedule for Dallas. Having to come to Giants Stadium twice in three weeks.
Yes, it is strange. The only other time I can recall that happening was in 2003. Dallas played at NYG in Week 2, then a bye week, then they were at the Jets in Week 4.
@@RyansCowboysCorner I remember that. They had 2 wins at the Stadium & between The Giants & Jets they had one.
@@RyansCowboysCorner Do you have next weeks game with Washington?
@@cbod14 Yes, it is already up on my channel.
@@RyansCowboysCorner bill parcels first year
It's been a long time since these days. But I fully believe Dallas will return to the Super Bowl in 2 years.
I hear ya! It might even be a little sooner than that at the rate their going! Maybe this year or the next you never know, but only time will tell.
Awkward silence
Or if not the Super Bowl it would be really exciting to see them at least return to the NFC Championship. If they make it to the NFC Championship this season. I will declare this a fantastic season.
I sure hope so!
Yeah if the triplets come back.
THe thing I remember about this game is apparently there were some tense words between Jimmy Johnson and Bruce Coslet after the game.
Love these old telecasts where you had to pay attention with no score. no first down yellow line, no clock, no distance and yardage displayed on the screen for most of the game.
Erik Williams my man !!!
Pete Carroll was the defensive coordinator for three years and head coach in 1994. Wow…Never knew that.
Absolutely embarrassing game by the jets .. just ridiculous.. 30 % of the crowd were cowboy fans... 5 turnovers still lost by 21 .. this started another late season collapse lost last 3 to miss the playoffs again what a joke
Johnny Johnson is a GOOD running back. And though Emmitt Smith won rookie of the year in 1990.....Johnson got the Pro Bowl nod over Emmitt.
Is that Pete Carol on the jets sideline??
Yes, he was their defensive coordinator in 93.
YOURE THE MAN!!!!!!!!! 👊🏼
This was the first NFL game on CBS after FOX had officially outbid them for NFC TV Rights
That was a BFD back then
Rupert Murdoch (head of Fox, remember he’s Australian): So, we are televising this sport. How is it played?
CBS (trying to calm everyone down): Don’t worry. We have The Masters
Terry Bradshaw: Oh yeah? Does The Masters have a pre-game show?!
CBS: … …. ….
CBS tried an 11th hour bid to get the AFC package from NBC. NFL said nope to that
Madden: Well if CBS is going to lose the NFL, I need to go somewhere else
NBC: Come to us. You’ll get to do lots of Raiders games. And we’ll put you on a train
ABC: Madden, Michaels, Mondays. And it’s a fixed schedule. So no crazy cross country trips
Fox: If we get Madden, then Summerall and others will come. And it will build our credibility that we are serious
Fox: Hey Steve Sabol. Who are the best radio guys in the business?
Steve: well… there’s this fellow in Kansas City. I could talk to him at the AFC Championship in Buffalo to gauge his interest
Fox: Ok. Our pre-game show will be led by James Brown with Terry Bradshaw and Howie Long
Newspaper: JIMMY JOHNSON AND JERRY JONES SPLIT UP
Fox: Get me Jimmy Johnson!
Fox: We’re going to put the teams, score, quarter, and time left in the upper left corner of the screen
NBC: That’s a gimmick! Ratings will decrease! That’s going to be one huge graphic! No one will be able to see the game!
Fox: Oh and we’re going to pioneer the technology
ESPN & TNT: interesting…
1994 Week 1
Fox: and cue the opening music for the pregame show…

1:36:20 unbelievable same ol jets lol .. they had some good momentum going .. 21-7 but driving with plenty of time smh
Side line audio I like the cuss words
Long suffering Jets fan. I was at this game...ugh!
Boomers arm is shot at this point in his career
3:50 They made a mistake. It's supposed to be receivers, not recievers.
Look! A magic squirrel!
Nice hearing Bad Company playing at the stadium. Now the music sucks and really isn't music at all. Rock and Roll will always be number one.
Boomer has like 3 yds per attempt in this game. That's dogshit.
The Cowboys were just sloppy in the first half and were lucky to have a 7 to 0 lead. They turned it on in the second half and beat a team they were supposed to beat.
“Happy Gilmore just threw his club at the ref Dan…”
Very true
1:29:29 nice save by esiason .. was about to be a 5 yd loss .. turned into a 10 yd gain
Boomer vs The Boyz 💪🏈💪
1:22:10 - all we need is a few good men! Lol
35:27 what's his problem .. your d just got a turnover .. you'd think he was a dallas coach lol
10:51 stupid rule .. who cares who recovers it ?
no sound
2:02:34 the great browning nagle lol
15:55 brain fart why is the db that far back on 4th and 1 yikes
So many turnovers this game!
Does anyone know what kind of diseases you can get from a community pool?
Well that was a lie.
