this just happened to me with a girl i was with. We were texting each other all and everyday for two weeks and we’ve hung out a couple of times. Everything went smooth and great but then all of a sudden, she told me that she’s not ready for new ppl in her life and that she’d stay in her bubble for now and come back when she’s ready. She apologized and everything and all i said was no worries, come back whenever you feel ready since i didn’t wanna pressure her or interfere in her space. Its been two weeks and nothing from her yet. I don’t know if I should keep waiting or just move on. Everything was really going amazing between us both and it kinda sucks how it just ended just like that ): she was even the one to initiate everything between us. so idk

The same night we finally met in person his baby mama X decided to come back into his life and pressure him for marriage. When I asked about the change in his behavior he said he didn't have time for high-maintenance friends. Funny he somehow found hours to talk to me before so I think he was transferring his frustration about his ex to me because he feels obligated to her even though the relationship was toxic.

Guys, if you think you like someone and you know they like you back just confess to them yourself pls. I'm saying this cause of an incident. So I was in grade 8, there was a girl I saw in that class and I fell in love with her. She didn't loved me at first but slowly she started to love me as well. We both used to sit at different seats in class but we never felt like that. I'm sure she loved me because we used to stare at each other like half of the time. I know it might sound creepy for some people but it really isn't. It was like when she first looked at me I looked away. 2nd time when I try to look at her right after 2-3 seconds she looked at me back and I looked away again. It happened a few times but at the end I decided to not look away when she looks at me and I did. She didn't moved her sight away. The funny part is that she was so insterested in me when I asked 'What?' by raising my eyebrows she just copied me and looked away. I was sure she loved me and I still don't know why I didn't confess.So, it was the last day of school and a bit snow was there on road. Our bus driver drove the bus really carefully as the road wasn't in good condition. When I reached school I decided I'll confess to her. I couldn't say it in front of her so I wrote it in paper. I remember the exact lines. I said "Hi, I love you a lot. I know you love me too I think it's time I confess my feelings. Do you love me?". I gave it to her in last period and told her to read it in her bus not here. She looked extremely happy and just said 'Thanks I was waiting for it for so long'. It was like she knew what was written. When she went into that bus and she read it in her bus only when the bus was still parked in school and was about to leave. She asked the driver that she forgot to refill her water bottle so she'll go and she came to my bus saying "I do feel the same way, I love you too" to me from outside my bus window. I asked her to talk to me on phone and I was really happy. It was the happiest day of my life or that's what I thought. I hope she never went in that bus. Before that bus could drop her at her house it got into an accident due to snow. It's been almost 3 years since then and I still miss her. I just wish I could've reversed time and asked her to read it earlier and not in that bus. I still am not in any relationship since then. I was really depressed when I heard about her bus. I felt like giving up my life but then I thought of my parents and just cried for almost an year. I hope she loves me too and wherever she is I just wanted to say her in person that I love her and not through letter cause I never said I love you too to her in person, just sent a letter. So, guys it's my humble request to pls confess to someone if you really love them and you think they love you back. My parents changed my school after that cause they didn't want to see me depressed. I literally had to go to doctor for 6 months to cure my depression. Sorry if I wrote it wayy too long.

Thanks guys for these likes and nice comments. I could've replied earlier but I don't use this account often as this reminds me of my past. Well, I'm a lot better now. Well, I always tried to run away from the past. My parents told me to not think about the past and focus on the future. I tried to do the same. That's why I shifted to a different account and disbanded this account. But, that didn't help. I couldn't run away from my past, it was like, everytime I tried forgetting about the past, the same lines started ringing in my ears which I heard from my mom when she said that one of the school buses met an accident almost 4 years ago. So, finally I've decided to not run away from it. I shifted back to this account, I think about her a lot often and wonder how my life would've been if she was still with me. I went to my previous school a few days back and met my old friends whom I left 4 years ago. I was glad they still rememeber me. I even met her parents to see if they were okay and they were mostly fine, even tho I couldn't talk to them in person, I had a little conversation with them on phone as they were not at home at that moment. I have decided, I'll now make tons of great memories in my life and when I die, I'll share all the memories with her. Hope she'll listen lol. One last note, I really really really pray that what happened to me never happens to anyone else in this world. I want everyone to be happy always and whoever's reading this, enjoy your life, I promise everything will go your way. Whichever god you worship always has better plans for you.

It may not always be the fear of rejection. For me it was depression, always feeling inadequate, and straight up hating myself. It finally took her blatantly saying how she felt about me for me to realize how senseless my insecurities were. She makes me want to be a better me for her, to be someone that she deserves. Whatever the future brings, that woman was able to pull me from a pit, I thought I'd never get out of.
Same exact circumstances, but the fact that I expressed that she "made me" want to be better, and not having been self-motivated to be bette regardless of her involvement, was a huge red flag and turn off for her. Too much pressure to take while she was also struggling with her own mental health.
I'm grateful to her for ultimately rejecting me while I was living within that mindset. Although it did- and still does- hurt, it's given me insight and a perspective that I can take and apply to myself before I try to offer myself to another, again. It was a lesson on how to be a better partner.

I had a situation where a girl I liked gave me all the signs. Even talked to my sister asking about me a lot and specifically stating she wanted to get to know me more in a one on one setting. I hung out more over the next few months and we even went on an outing to the beach together one on one. She played romantic country music the whole time and the signs all seemed to be there. As soon as we got back, though, she became distant. Stopped texting back. Then I found out she was with another guy months later. I was just her way to feel wanted while this guy decided if he wanted her. Apparently I reminded her somewhat of him. She even asked why he and I aren't good friends since we're so much alike. Well gee, I don't know, maybe we would be if it weren't for both of us wanting the same girl? I felt completely lied to and used and then tossed aside like an old toy as soon as she got what she really wanted. Fear of rejection exists because of things like this.

2 and 3 basically mean the same so do number one and finally put your foot in your mouth, unrelated phrase and doesn´t make sense in this context.
I think once you get rejected a few times, it hurts less and less. I've never been rejected until I got older. Yes, it stung, but it made me reflect on myself. I realized that there was nothing wrong with me and that the person just simply wasn't for me. I've made changes so that I can be happy on my own and I've learned to not rely on others for happiness. That gave me confidence, and I attracted more people because of it. If you feel this way about yourself, maybe it is time to make some changes in your life. You shouldn't feel like you are not worthy.

As someone with a fear of rejection and who has a crush on someone with a fear of rejection, it's so confusing. You understand them but still don't get it. They're vulnerable and comfortable with you, are clingy and show affection, talk about feelings sometimes and are honest to just disappear for long days. Then something happens and you have a moment where it's clear that there is something between you just for them to pull away again. It's tiring, I can't lie. But sometimes it's worth it. Be persistent but know your limits folks.

I’m introverted as well and completely understand what you went through. I experienced the same exact thing… Man my emotions were going like a rollercoaster: it was exciting and it made us happy, but hurt at the same time, because we both couldn’t get it. We had this strong connection but something just didn’t sit right. Neither of us admitted our feelings and that was the most heartbreaking part. Regret. She's most likely gonna leave BC after she graduates (in a half year) so when I tell her in June, I won't have to see her again. But if I tell her sooner, I get to bond with her a wee bit more (though she literally has no dating experience).
Reasons why I hate rejection:
• there will be an awkward stage between u too
• they will start saying things to their friends
• you’ll pretty much be hurt for quite a while
• (if u were friends) theres a possibility they might not want to be friends anymore
EDIT: I am so proud to say that I’ve decided to shove my fear aside and tell my crush I like her. She ended up liking me too and now were a thing! Holy crap this is how I feel also, I'm just shy, not really much of a social teenager since I'm rarely on social media & mostly play video games. Back in 2019 someone liked me I'm not sure if they were faking it or not but it was on the first week of school I sensed a sign they liked me, around early November on a Tuesday they sended a note during class which I was surprised. This was a long time ago when that person & me had a crush on each other. She doesn't go to the same school which I'm sad :(. But oh well forget the shy relationship & move on, besides we were both shy

Exactly. I had a guy I REALLY liked give me mixed signals. He would show interest one day, next day he pretended he hadn't even noticed me. I would sometimes bump into him in the subway and he would always hide behind his newspaper. I ended up thinking that he didn't like me and that all the signs that pointed towards the opposite were my interpretation only because I liked him so much. In the end, I concluded that even if he DID like me, if he were so insanely unapproachable and afraid of me, I couldn't spend any more time, as at that point, I had been trying to approach him for almost a year.
Years later, being more experienced and being able to read cues better, I realized HE DID like me, probably as much as I liked him. But well, what's the point if he can't even acknowledge my presence half the times???

But at the end of the day, I can only do so much and I can't push someone out of their comfort zone more than they're willing to go. Story time! So I have been talking to this one girl who I really like. She inevitably told me she liked me too. Funny thing is she did it and she showed all these signs. Just because someone is afraid of rejection (she later told me she was afraid to tell me) doesn't mean that you have to change anything about the way you talk or do things. I just talked to her like I usually did. I was going to tell her at school but she told me first. I really love her... Anyways moral is: don't think that you have to be different to impress anyone. Also being awkward isn't a bad thing... (We're both really awkward people) thank you and good night!
My story is similar except this person ended up going back to her abusive ex without me even knowing it. She just stopped talking to me out of nowhere and I couldn’t figure out why until two weeks later , it turned out she had already got with that guy. It really broke me but It helped me grow so much as a person ❤️

After being rejected several times, I no longer let the other person know I like them. It's a burden! They always use the same 2 word combo, I'm too nice and sweet then proceed to the rejectio. It takes me quite some time to overcome the rejection. So I stopped letting them know I have feeling for them. Being alone doesn't look that lonely anymore. This way, I won't need to deal with any more rejections.

i have a problem, that's not how it works with me. for some reason i've realized and been told to that my feelings towards the girl i like are not evident at all. what should i do?
This is literally me. I'm a shy guy whose ever only been in one relationship, which unfortunately ended and I know deep down it was mainly my fault that her feelings faltered. I was always scared to make any moves because I was afraid if I did anything wrong (like make advancements at the wrong time or the wrong place) that it would be game over for me, which couldn't have been more wrong. We are just good friends now because of this, but I still have this fear of making any advancement, which is a super big issue because of stereotypes (guys gotta be the confident ones and make the moves to be successful and all that jazz)

Beside all wonderful script and content, I just find the animations just very lovely. The animation kind of remind me that we all human being are all genuinely sweet and loving beings from our hearts. Only issue is that our expression depends on how other person perceive us. If they perceive us lovingly, we show our wonderful nature or vice versa in other senerio. If we treat everyone with love and respect regardless of their skin color, ethinicity etc, we can make the current world much better and liveable for everyone around us.

I totally agree, it’s not the rejection that hurts a lot but it’s the after effect of being used and abused. It’s not worth wasting time with such person. And some people are so good at being manipulative that they can put all the blame on you and act like they are the real victims.

The pulling away and letting them come to you thing works. I have been seeing someone who pulled away every time I was too interested, so I stopped contacting her altogether, and now she contacts me several times a day. If someone really likes you and has fear of abandonment, then sometimes it's a good idea to let them like you on their own terms. When they feel safe with you, they will open up more and want to see you.
I used to get anxious when she didn't write back right away, but now I just do something else and the hours fly by, and we're both closer for it.

Interesting, because as far as unluckily I was concerned, when somebody loosened the connection, for me it looked like a decrease of interest, not fear of rejection. I am usually feared of rejection, but never treat people I am interested in, or have feelings (friendly or romantic) like that.
I'm pretty sure no one will ever read this comment, but Sir Slap's only piece of advice to anyone who seriously likes someone, is to just tell them. Even if you're afraid of rejection, it's better to tell them than to not. Even if they reject you, you at least know.
A couple of years ago (pre-covid), Sir Slap really liked this one girl a lot in high school. He loved her so much that he got anxiety and bipolar depression over fear of embarrassing himself in front of her, being rejected, or being made fun of (Sir Slap was not the most popular kid in school, and sometimes got bullied). This, coupled with problems at school and home, constantly tore at Sir Slap. Every time he would see her, he would tell himself, "I'll tell her next time". He never did, he was never able to overcome his fear. And day by day, his bipolar depression would get worse, making him the fool he feared to be in front of her, and a gloomy person that everyone avoided the other half of the day. And just when Sir Slap got the courage to tell her, to try to reach out to her, it was too late. She had moved, God knows where, and with no way for Sir Slap to contact her; she would never be seen in his life again. This shook Sir Slap, and caused him to have constant panic attacks, thoughts, and attempts at suicide, coupled with his already bad conditions at school and home. He eventually got diagnosed with Takotsubo Cardiomyopathy and would never see her again; she was out of his life, and he would never get that chance back, his mind still plagued with thoughts of her, panic attacks, and constant breakdowns to this day.

Honestly, I think you can feel when someone likes you and you like them. When you can sense this, it may just be a matter of going for it. Talk with em about it. Even if you do a clumsy job of it, they'll be really happy that you reached out to them. These precious points shouldn't be squandered.

I'm so old now and have been rejected so many times that I gave up on looking for a relationship for almost 8 years. Then I found a new person, just by pure coincidental luck, and I'm right back where I was when I was in my early 20s - I have no idea what I'm doing right or wrong, but I'm less worried about rejection and I feel more confident, yet somehow I can't get over that stupid mentality of finding the right thing to say at the right moment, as if not everything I say has to be the right thing and everytime is the right time. I only hope that I can keep from fucking up for another couple of month due to circumstances. I also know that there's no point in just opening your heart, you have to show not tell. But I don't want to just do that, I want to take her somewhere nice, I want her to have fun and smile and be happy, and when she's relaxed I want to show her how much she means to me, tell her with my actions and my own smile and eyes, never just with my words. And if I have to spell it out for her... "Hey listen, you are a smart girl I should't even have to tell you what I feel right now, you know every time I hang out with you I enjoy everything, and I want to enjoy everything every day with you" or similar...

And honestly, even if she were to reject you, at least you won’t have any regrets later on. You can look back and say ‘well that didn’t work out but not because I didn’t try.”

I just wanna say that if nothing happens it may be better off that way.
They either don't have enough self-love to handle the thought of you leaving them alone, or their perspective on relationships is twisted because of past pain or trauma or just lack of emotional intelligence and maturity. You might want to move on to someone who'll be more honest about how they feel and what they want.

It sucks when you've had instances of past rejections that make it even harder to try and initiate a relationship with someone in future, platonic or romantic. I've always had trouble connecting with others or not being open enough, but when I try to, I get called annoying or that I am "too much" for the other party.
It really makes it that much harder to even wanna straight up say "I like you" to someone because even if they're showing reciprocating feelings, there is still that sense of doubt in the back of your mind. It really makes it hard to want to even commit to any form of a relationship when there's that constant anxiety that they're just gonna end up leaving or pushing you away :(c

This was always me the first few years of high school, I didn’t ask my crush out for 3 years because I thought there was no way she would possibly wanna go out with me. We were friends but that’s it. I told her I felt like she was too far out of my league, and she told me that’s a stupid concept, and that she liked me for me, not what I looked like. We agreed we would try it out, and we’re still together 3 years later. I don’t drink anymore, but I’ll always be thankful for alcohol because of that moment, cause I would’ve probably never asked without being drunk, and I’m in a way better place now

I'm not afraid of rejection. I'm actually used to it. I've gotten it my whole life, so it's one of the only things I ever expect.
