    Would be helpful if you did a guide on how to change crankcase bearings and seals on the rotax senior

      Hi Byrnesy, will do next time I have one in the workshop. Also too there is a Rotax manual online you can download that details the steps for their engine on how to rebuild it. Couple this with the Power Republic heat torch method and you should be able to work your way through it.

    Dear Sir, I have this question, maybe as many karters out there: (As I am employed in the aviation business), I wonder what is the mandatory Rotax Max long storage procedure? ( I believe it is not similar as the Rotax aviation engines😃), however I noticed similar procedures are required, such as piston seizure prevention, monthly hand cranking, 3 months inspection, moisture control etc..
    Mainly the question would be, is cooling circuit draining required? (Effects on casket, shrinking when drying leading to detoriation)?

      hey Adam , not sure when it comes to aviation. fuel sitting in the carbs and fuel pumps isn't awesome over time. but other than that, the engines are pretty hardy. maybe just block the exhaust and inlet to stop cold wet air entering the engines

    I have a 125 max rotax motor is suppose to antifreeze in the bottom crank this is the first time I have messed with this kind of motor and I went out and started it and the piston blew up and messed up the jug when I pulled everything off it was full of antifreeze in the housing above the jug

    I have a junior rotax max and would like to know if there is a good engjne position to mount it . Ie. Distance from the sprocket carrier or bearing mount . Thanks in advance

      Not that I know of, normally line the crank up with the side pod bar as a general rule to start from

    Hi Derek, Greetings from Ireland....Thanks for another great video.....do you recommend using blue loctite on the engine mounting bolts when attaching the factory mount for use on the kart?

    • @PowerRepublic
      @PowerRepublic  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Brian, i don't use it myself however if I did, Blue Loctite 243 would do the job.

    • @PowerRepublic
      @PowerRepublic  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey John, are you asking about a brand new engine package set up on a kart? I would allow half to a full day depending on how much experience you have with them. It is all the little things that add up. Once installed, engine swaps can be done between sessions.

    • @PowerRepublic
      @PowerRepublic  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Riccardo, I think you should have 10-15mm of 'slack' in the chain. Make sure you use plenty of Chain Lube.

      Yes that right, about 10-15mm at the highest spot (about the thickness of the chain either side of centre ). just remember that a looser chain is better than too tight, IMO
