I've actually owned a couple of top karts. They aren't the fastest chassis anymore, but they are the most durable. They are great for smaller, more frequent racing at local tracks. Great to see them getting some love
I bought a sr30.2 with a x30 from those guys and its the best thing I've ever done. Blake is super cool and very helpful he always answers your questions promptly.
Road raced CR125cc Shifter karts for years. Most awesome bang for the buck. More performance envelope than most people have any idea and they are by far the most affordable and accessible performance machines and surpasses the performance of many full on race cars at multiple times the operating cost and investment.
Casey was like 20 minutes from my house.. I would have popped over to meet you and check out the karts. i want to get into it. Will have to check them out.
If you are ever in the market for a motivational bit of karting trivia, try this one, that I'm sure you are familiar with. Former Nascar driver, Lake Speed was a 6 time International Karting Federation National Champion. But in 1978, he won the World Karting Championship over the future 3 time Formula One Champion, Ayrton Senna! You want to talk about instant, spontaneous cred❓Anything is possible to those willing to do whatever it takes.
Love karting getting some attention! What class will you be in? What club or series? If it's the sort of thing where you can just show up for one race I might want to come down with my 206 at some point
Casey, I'm about as excited as you are about karting. Just hoping you'll do some follow up videos about some sessions. In the summer of 2002, I did the certification for the Kart class that was known at the time as Bombardier in my area. Not sure if that was a region or track specific thing or not. Anyway, did that with a bunch of friends, and that allowed us to rent those Bombardier powered karts on that track and have a blast. I should find out if that certification is still valid, worth something, and find a track to practice on. Have fun!
@@CaseyPutsch You don't, in the USA. From where I'm from, we did, for insurance reasons vs the track owner. Not material, but physical insurance. I guess if we were to actually own the karts, that might have been different. But we were renting them. As I said, I would have to look into that. Same is true, for us here, if you want to use a climbing wall. It's a sad state of things.
How do you adjust the seat for your height because I am 17 at 5’1 1/2 and i feel to short to push the pedals all the way down and tend to scoot forward which messes me up
My old Margay came in 3rd place @ IKF Nationals after I traded my buddy for his interest in 1968 Z/28 Camaro we had bought together....But that was the early 80's....My buddies daughter raced pretty successfully in IKF until the nationals and some "Chick's Team" pulled up in a 30ft transporter with multiple chassis and stacks of tires...What was that chick's name...D Patrick something or other as I recall....Yep true story! Yamaha was totally NEGLIGENT in never making a "touch and go" KT100 motor....they are IDIOTS! I hear there are some in Australia....definitely need a "TAG" feature on any Kart these days
@@ericbrandt829 I had a KT100 on my kart too and won one feature on dirt with it. I only had one spare tire and was a pure rookie with no help and had to figure out everything for myself. I sure was proud of myself that night. It had completely wore out tires on the back and the top finishers all came to my pits to look at my tires. They couldn't figure out how I beat them and walked away shaking their heads but the next week they all showed up with slicks on the rear. That name you mentioned, it sure does ring a bell. :)
Like, a kart motor is cool, but you have a hyabusa motor... I kid, I know you are building to a spec to compete. But just thinking of how fast the formula car will be with a busa motor, imagine distilling it down even farther to a kart XD
Is there a part 2 of this video?? I came to this video for the chassis setup. But this was just a bla bla bla video..... Where is the setup of ther cart??
If your goal is to race cars. Don't stay in karts too long. Cars are completely different to drive and race. Karts are good for learning race craft and the basics of racing.
I do not understand the whole seat strut deal on these straight up karts.welded posts to main frame.it makes no sense to me.if ya have a 120 lb driver and a 180 lb driver how do ya move your seat enough to get weights in kart right..i think thats the worst design on these karts..my oval kart i can move my seat anywhere i need it.so much more simple
Can you make a video for people who have literally never done any form of Motorsport but are interested in karts?
They are coming!
Henry Collins Call Blake and set up an arrive and drive deal! They are a national team so they go everywhere 😃
@@simrigpc27b12 thanks!
I like your videos man. You show a more candid side to racing.

I went to Middle and High School with Blake! He's a great and stand up guy and awesome to see him on a channel I watch!
I bought a sr30.2 with a x30 from those guys and its the best thing I've ever done. Blake is super cool and very helpful he always answers your questions promptly.
Cool to see this as a 17yr old from Indy going to Purdue this fall!
Yay Purdue University
I might consider Purdue in the future, best of luck and let me know how it goes

The Briggs 206 is a great motor. Momentum racing. Super close running. And a blast. Saved karting in Canada. Great vid Casey
Casey, please keep going with this karting series! Ohio/Midwest karting needs some love!
Casey Putsch may actually succeed at saving motorsports for the future, by bringing us along on his adventure.
Wish you would have shown more of the vintage karts! Maybe another video?

thats a good looking cart!
This reminds, some people in my shop class are trying to build a dune buggy, they started their project earlier today.
Casey .. now try driving one of those Vintage Karts. IMO, the best form of karting... emphasis on FUN.
SPIT those facts Casey! Karting is the way

Grand Prix classics

Dude, why didn't you visit me while you were here?! 😄😂😂😂 I run my Mercedes shop here! Can't believe Blake didn't tell you 😄
Wow, never seen racekarts with liftkits. Seems hard to drive.

Cheap. Ha.
You say it's the most athletic form of motorsports?? Tell me you have never ridden motocross, without telling me you've never ridden motocross!
