A lot of people hate on Simpsons Wrestling, and I get it. I'm just not one of them. Sure, it's flawed, but the amount of fun to be had mashing buttons with a friend is totally worth it.
Holy shit, Flanders is a total heel. That blatant interference from God, AND he counted pins when he didn't have the shoulders down. Man, I'd be throwing trash into that ring after that screwjob finish.
Y'know, this doesn't actually look that bad for the PS1. It just needs that boost in resolution to smooth all of the rough cel shading. (Imagine if it got ported to the Saturn using the graphics engine from Virtua Fighter 2, which was in 480p)
James Clifford Seems easily interruptable. If he runs away with full stamina you know he's gonna do it. Lisa could cancel it super easily with her ultimate too.
Where the developers (or more likely the publishers) really went wrong was making this for the PS1. The PS2 would have had the graphics horsepower to do justice to the art style they were attempting, but I guess targeting the widest possible audience was more important.

Tbh i dont get why people hate on the games art. personally i think it was impressive to see cel shaded graphics on ps1. even if it does look a bit rough i enjoy the graphics style
0:01 effortlessly fading into 0:10 hits me right in the Nostalgia feels. Loved this game, Groundskeeper Willy was the best fighter without using cheats, in that case Ned Flander's lightning from heaven move was amazing.
I remember before a "friend" stole this game from me, that I actually found Kang easier when playing as Professor Frink, it'd take longer but I'd just run around the ring avoiding Kang's laser shots while pressing circle to drop a box with a missile or robot to charge at Kang. (Yeah it was cheap, but then so was this game).
It's true Ned flanders was probably the strongest ... but many have underestimated homer Simpson, I have often played this game and if you study Homer well, you will find that it is second to none ... Hits with "triangle" and "circle" can also be done with running and jumping, the shot in that case does more damage ... but if you use homer transformation and start hitting "circle" and "triangle" the damage is frightening ... I think if you're expert at Homer Simpson, beat anyone.
You know, for a kind of crappy Simpsons fighting game, it's kind of impressive with its cell-shading and surprisingly lack of texture warping unlike most PS1 games.
Terrible game, but a really impressive amount of original voice acting in this one. Chock full of episode-specific references too. That's about all I can say in favor of it.

I remember the first time I got to fight him. I was close to beat him, his leath down to zero, then boom, God himself revives him.
