Grande Andrea! L'atterraggio sulla pedana con quella precisione e quello stile ha dell'incredibile...secondo me è stata la parte più difficile dell'intera routine ;-) Bravissimo
Hi, impressive flying! Nice to see a hang glider being 'spun. Being an older pilot, we used to spin the older single surface HG's by grabbing the keel behind the hang-point-effective!
Thank you Andrea for your advice about hanglide loop, after many time watching your video i learn and doo it loop in Croatia I,m your fan always and sand to you great greetings from Croatia.
my knee is going better now and I hope to fly again soon because I have to go to the World Air Games in june and after 8 months of forced rest i really need training. I have flown with an HP AT too, and I've done my first loop with it (in 1991). It was a great glider :). Thank you Doug, if i'll be in California one day, I'll let you know for sure... :-) Andrea.
hi 69, yes I remember you and I'm happy to know that you've finally found the acro course you were searching for. I've never seen Mitch "live" but I know (and I've seen on video) that he is certainly one of the best acro pilot in the world. I probably could learn a lot of thinghs from Mitch but, you know, he is a little far from my home :). Anyway, I can imagine that for you was a great experience and a very good way to improve your aerobatic skills. Go on like that! Andrea.
Nice vids Stikys, go on like that! However... YOU are the new pilot and YOU are keeping the sport alive. So, have fun and keep the enthusiasm high! Andrea.
Thank you Doug, I hope I will have the time to create some new acro clip the next season. I wanted to do it the last season but I broke my knee in june and I've been all summer long walking on crutches... Andrea.
hi netleaper, thank you very much for your kind compliments! Yes, weight shift is how we steer our hang gliders. In aerobatic, if we manage the naneuver properly, the centrifuge force creates an "apparent weight" which still give us enough directional control while we are "upside-down". That's why we can still steer the glider at the apex of a loop. If you want to do that call the nearest fly school and join with us!! :-D You will not repent, his is a great sport!! bye, Andrea.
thank you for your comment. the trick at 2.38 was my first Split-S ever. To be honest, it wasn't a perfect execution but, considering that it was my first attempt, it was not so bad, at the end. Now I can do it much, much better. Andrea.
...hi man, thanks a lot, nice to know that you like it. Yeah, this is definitely a great sport! You did the right choice and I wish you to join the aerobatic environment soon, it's fun and full of nice people. My glider is a Wills Wing T2 and it is a great glider. It is reliable, strong, finely made and with great flight characteristics. Have fun with your new sport! bye, Andrea.
Yes, we guess the speed in acro, we don't use the speed indicator. Anyway, the experience help you to evaluate the speed. I live in Rome (Italy) and I have to drive at least 80 km to reach a good place to fly. Only the Vertigo Voss air show (Norway) is with a boat towing system, the other (few) shows are with a classic mountain take off and, if the wind is from the back and we don't have alternatives, we obviously cancel the fly. I also like that clip but (unfortulately) I wasn't there. Andrea.
hi doffin, what is really impressive is your description!! I can't imagine to spin a glider grabbing the keel behind the hang point! Brrrr.... you need real nerve to do it!! My sincere compliments! Are you still flying at present? Andrea.
Hi man, I've learned acro by myself so I don't know exactly where you could "sign up" to perfectionate your skills but I can tell you for sure that in USA (I'm from Italy) there's the excellent Freestyle champion John Heiney who sometimes organize acro courses and stages. I think that you can find easily his website just digiting his name in the google searchbar. Good luck, Andrea.
hey man great vid ,, im just about finished my hang gliding training and vids like this make me feel i made an awsome decision to take it up . i hope to be able to fly like that some day . . What glider you flying ?
Ciao, Andrea
