Fire Emblem Character Spotlight: Fir
Fir is a playable character from Fire Emblem: The Binding Blade. She is the daughter of Bartre and Karla, making her the niece of Karel.

I missed watching these videos on Fire Emblem Character spotlight.
It's very entertaining to see someone put dedication to explaining the backstory, personality, stats, and so on with a specific character.
I don't know if you'll make one of these someday. Unless you explained it in a video that i must've missed sometime ago.

I like Fir, I don't mind training her since she doesn't appear that late she isn't that hard to train, and the training pays off.
And she appears with lots of easy to kill pirates for her

Hey mangs, have you ever thought of doing a spotlight of each game as a whole? I think that'll be pretty interesting
If you haven't already seen it, ShaneBrained has a(n almost comprehensive) retrospective series from FE1 onwards.
I love the swordmaster class, and I tried to use them whenever the game offered me one. Fir might have issues with her Str growth, but Binding Blade swordmasters are the best of the GBA era. She has solid stats for a Lv.1 unit, she'll never be as good as Rutger in most plays, but there's nothing wrong about using 2 Swordmasters in the same squad. A lot of unit needs training in Binding Blade, and Fir stands in the group where if you invest time in her, it'll pay off.
On hard mode I dont think that’s even necessary. She’s got roughly Rutgers bases but a little better in the important stats. Just get her to ten and she’s set.

Fun fact: Fir is largely considered a high tier Main Character in Cipher and was regarded as top 10 and even top 5 for months on end! She's not considered as good as she was those few months back now, but she's still easily a top 15 or 20 Lord to play and is a personal favorite of mine!

Before anyone says it, the main difference between Fir and Amila is that one of them has value in being trained while the other is in a game so easy that on hard an untrained Seth can still do half the end game for you.

@@alejandro_rodriguez_99 Eh, Cormag and Colm got nerfed because they started out as enemies, so it reduces the odds of them killing your units before you can recruit them. Agree on the rest though, Ewan, L'Arachel and Amelia didn't need a nerf, and they should have buffed Eirika

I dunno if it's already on the list but as a lore junkie who has some very strong, very mixed opinions on Fates..
I would thoroughly enjoy seeing you putting the spotlight on Shigure and the metric ton of out-of-context, unnecessary trauma that the already inconsistent plot of fates decided to throw on despite his surprisingly (at least to me) interesting support convos.
..Also, he's simultaneously a twink, a disney prince, a theater kid, and unironically ripped, and that is just a glorious combination of words to have to explain in detail.

Thank god somebody finally said it.
Fir is absolutely horrid for an "optimal" playthrough, but she's top-tier in regards to a casual playthrough.
Unlike units like Wendy or Sophia, Fir isn't hard to train at all (just time consuming) and is incredibly valuable at taking down the insanely strong Binding Blade generics.
However, her weaknesses shouldn't be neglected. Her Strength and Defense are pretty bad, especially compared to how surprisingly bulky Rutger is. She can get screwed by RNG pretty bad.

Honestly, I just like being able to help characters become their best. I dont know that stats or even usefulness is important. I like seeing a character grow to their potential and even surpass their limits

Better than Nino, that is for sure. Frankly, compared to other units you get in the Western Isles, she's not the worst option to train.
Having far better availability than Nino helps quite a bit, especially since she seems easy to train (though I haven't played FE6 myself). Ests like Nino are a pain in the ass in general because they come in so late with stats that are often bad in the middle of the game or so, which makes people wonder if they are even worth putting any kind of investment into. But for a unit like Fir, who joins at a reasonable time in the game and matches up well against the enemies you'll be fighting, it becomes a lot more plausible for them to be able to have at least some kind of potential.

I would like to see a spotlight on jerrot from binding blade. Trust me he is a very good character if you read his support's. Also jerrot and the ilian mercenaries in general were sorta a reference to hardin and his men. Hell jerrot even becomes a king in his ending.
Thinking about it, 3 of the 4 playable ladies of Sacae use swords, and the 4th uses them upon promotion. Maybe we got the exceptions.

I've been longing for this spotlight for a while. And finally it came! Fir is the swordmaster I wanted to used besides Rutger and Joshua of FE Sacred Stones.
If Fir had joined earlier than Rutger she would have been the best in Binding blade
When you mentioned your patreon I decided to check out the tiers due to utter curiosity, and I really think you need to update the rewards of them. The part of adding people as steam friends are odd as they allow for dms, and you said that your staying away from social media. Not to say you can't use steam as to talk to your friends, but giving it out to dedicated fans are odd. Although it might not be the case with you giving it out still, but you just haven't updated it yet for some reason.
Also that part about adding discord benefits should be removed out right because you don't have a discord server anymore.

In my first ever FR6 Run (which went btw horrible) Fir and Noah were actually my promoted power couple since they where the only survivers together with Igrene and Fae to reach Sacae. Fir and Noah demolished everything but i ran out of weapons and couldnt beat Sacae. I will try again one day and if Rutger actually survives that long i will make him her B Support

I think the main reason people don't like Fir is because Fir may be good, but Rutger is stupidly broken, especially when supported by Dieck and Clarine, so why not use him?
Hahaha!!! So Fir is Mangs's guilty pleasure character he likes to use despite what others say on her true that she sucks but that doesn't discard Mangs to enjoy making good use on this one young female Samurai, Myrmidon, or Sword Fighter for what she is. Besides we all have our guilty pleasure character in Fire Emblem that we like and enjoy make good use of despite on what others say.
So Fir overall is a solid 7 out of 10 so she's a good Samurai, Myrmidon, or Sword Fighter unit and character but she is instead flawed.
@@zentoravenvigor4810 That sounds a LOT like Hana in fates to me. People often say she's really bad, mostly due to her fragility, and there's also the fact that she's pretty outclassed by Ryoma (never mind the fact that Ryoma is stupid levels of broken). Despite that, I still have occasionally used her (admittedly, it's partly because I find her to be cute), and I still kind of enjoy her in a more casual run despite what so many other people have said about her.

I’d personally give her a 4 but that’s just because I trained her hard and when she promotes, she was actually better than Rutger. Her story is an old gold but I’d still give her character a 3 since there’s nothing super memorable about it
