I loved Sanaki as a character. Her development in RD really made her shine. she's also a really unique character, the kind you don't really see in FE nowadays.
I really enjoy all the Spotlights you do and I share the same opinion on Sanaki as you; I think she is a very well written character which makes me like and use her even if she is considered mediocre/bad as a unit ! :3

Sanaki is definitely one of the best-written characters in Tellius. Some people argue that Micaiah being the true Apostle was dumb but it actually improves both Micaiah and Sanaki's character. Sanaki started having doubts about her legitimacy due to not hearing the voice of the goddess and started becoming jealous of Micaiah but she ended up overcoming those doubts and becoming a stronger character and ruler. Also, she eventually overcomes her jealousy and became an even more friendly person. This type of character development wouldn't have happened if Sanaki was the true apostle. As for Micaiah, she ends up turning down the offer to rule Begnion which goes to show that unlike other FE lords, she doesn't let her royalty/noble birth status define her identity. I'd argue Sanaki is a top 5 well-written character in Tellius with her only competition being Micaiah, Elincia, Soren, Jill and Kurthnaga.
I actually really grew a liking on Sanaki due to her character and due to the fact that she was One of the First five star Heroes i ever pulled in FEH so this is really interesting to me
Still surprised Sanaki was the first Tellius character to appear in Heroes, but she's cool so whatevs So anyway, since we're talking about Begnion, Oliver Spotlight when? :P
This pleases me! You pretty much covered everything that I can say about my favourite FE character (she's been my favourite ever since I first played PoR back when it first came out) without needing to best out my notes and get into hyper-specifics. Good spotlight!
Around 8-12 hours of combined work usually spread out over 3-4 days. About half of it is research and writing, and I have a team og 3 people helping me with proofreading and a designer making the visuals, while I do the editing itself.
Excellent spotlight Mangs! The only thing I can think of that's missing was mention of the second mission she sent Ike and crew on, to the desert to learn about the laguz liberation army (Tormod and Muarim).
This is my favorite character from all the series, thank you Mangs, & Gnarfledarf for requesting ;) My heart rejoiced at her 5 out of 5 stars in Character rank I pretty much expected the low Utility rank tho xD

The Tellius series is such a wonderful series, the best in FE in my opinion. So many awesome and memorable characters and a great storyline. It is a gift to FE fans If only they were the games Nintendo and IS worshipped instead of Awakening and Fates
Though my Tellius experience isn't that deep(single playthroughs), Sanaki left a deep impression out of the cast and wasn't even deployed for most of Tellius. She was one of my favorites to use when she joined my army(was more excited than I should have been). Even out of red mages in Heroes she remains my favorite for being a little powerhouse that doesn't need to double and can handle mages. While aware of her many flaws in terms of gameplay, she is an amazing character that can draw in players despite there being better options. I'll admit looking back. One of the few things that probably helped her was Radiant Dawn's poor characterization for the playable cast, since she was relevant to story and not a new character.
I never got to play Path of Radiance or Radient Dawn but the moment I pulled Sanaki in Heroes made me love her. I just need to find a good team to put her on.
Listening to this makes me realize just how in depth the stories of the Tellius games were. Sanaki played a false character to test Ike and the Greil Mercs to see if they were worthy of being hired and then she sends them instead of her own army in order for Ike to realize how cruel the Laguz slave trade was....
I really love this spotlight since Sanaki is just a really good character in the two games. I would argue about her utility but she is really bad in availability and taking hits so her utility as two stars is pretty fair, tho I still train her since she's my favorite fire mage and I like to have a mage that can double s rank each magic at end game (Soren, Ilyana, Sanaki, and Micaiah are my go to mage team). Still, great video and I'm looking forward to the next one!
This time I won't ask for Sephiran since he's somewhat in this one. But my other always suggestion still stands: Anna (all appearances) +1h spotlight guaranteed! ;)

It's very awesome and interesting how she wears clothes that are way too big for her. It's very symbolic of her entire situation actually. Whoever designed her character is a genius in more ways than one.
You don't relasise it yet, Mangs... we found you out. You say it was someone else who poisoned Dorcas' Mutton, but it seems the Internet has uncovered the truth. YOU are the one who poisoned Dorcas!
I disagree with giving her Discipline - starting with S rank in fire, she needs 80 WEXP to get to SS. But Cymbeline gives a massive 8 WEXP per use, so she only needs to attack 10 times (doubling counts for two for gaining WEXP). ie. once Cymbeline has 35 uses, she'll be at SS rank for fire.

Level-wise she's not nearly as far below average as Est/Nino though. And her growth rates don't seem to be much better than say, the Dawn Brigade's if any tbh.

How about Est, I don't know about any of the other games but she was fairly easy to train in echoes even if a mediocre strength growth can screw her over.
Rauðrblade is her best weapon. Cymbeline sadly isn't very good. For assist skills, I recommend Draw Back or Reposition. I myself prefer Draw Back on ranged units. Glimmer is a great low cooldown special for her. If you don't mind the higher cooldown, you should go with Iceberg. Good A skills for her would be Death Blow, Fury, or Triangle Adept. Swordbreaker lets her deal with units she struggles to oneshot. Red Tomebreaker is also viable, but red mages are much rarer, and of those, only Celica is a threat to her. Hone Atk is a great skill, and you can keep it on her, but, if you happen to have a spare Sonya or Gunnthrá, you could give Sanaki Res Ploy, letting her use her high Resistance to increase her nuking powers even more. You can give her the Attack seal to further increase her Attack, Attack Ploy to debuff enemies (even better when you also have Res Ploy), or Heavy Blade to let her charge specials faster.
i had to lol at your commentary for her as a unit, it kinda sounds like you used her as a front line unit. and it feels like if you lvled somebody up in this game they would hit their stat caps regardless. The rng in this game is funny and with how bonusxp worked with 3 ticks per lvl for every stat that got capped it got easier to cap others.
My favorite strategy is in fact to make one magic user of every element? Use a Siege tome blessed in order to safely and effectively use them. It allows my sages to use physic to heal and artillery to supplement damage without risk. Though some of your sages may need a bit of staff abuse to hit C rank for Physic. Sanaki is very skilled with magic and hits quite hard even if given Meteor over Bolting. I still like her despite her lack of utility and her lack of raw speed is somewhat helped because she hits like a train. Though...Mangs is right. She isn't that good of a unit in gameplay. However she isn't useless either.

He mentionned the missions without going through the details but he forgot about Sanaki stopping Begnion's occupation of Daein.

Although, Sanaki is required to be taken to the endgame though from what I recall, so training her and even using her is a must.
You can undeploy Sanaki. She's more of a liability than a help.

Ephraim or Eirika are good team mates for her, if you want to use Rauðrblade on Sanaki, since they can buff multiple stats at once.
Gnarfledarf In that case I'll need to pull another Tharja and a better Eirika since mine has bad IVs. My Ephraim is good to go.
