Thanks! This was an absolute nightmare of a run, but I'm really glad I got it. One day, I want to try to go for a run under 10 minutes, but I'm still feeling kind of burnt out.

@@mehastings27 Hey, I was interested in maybe giving speedrunning this game a try. Usually when I play normally I try to stay on the roofs because I completely avoid ceiling turrets and I can bypass some problematic tiles like art gallery and hospital by running over them instead of through them.
I think you're trying to stay on the middle layer here, is that intentional for speedrun strats? Like more tape spawns or more alternative routes?

@@merovetouchstone Overall, I'm not specifically trying to stay in any individual "lane" of tiles, but am just taking the fastest possible route through each tile. The more ground you cover, the more tape spawns you can check. I think middle lane is definitely more advantageous, since while it has some more difficult tiles, like the ones you mentioned, they also have a pretty high amount of tape spawns (in my experience). The middle lane also has a slightly easier time hearing tapes on other floors, and you have a better chance of switching to a different floor if your route is blocked. If you cannot progress forward, you can go up OR down, rather than just one of those if you're on the top/bottom floor. Good luck on running, hit me up if you have any other questions!

I love this game to death, still didn't know shooting the tapes skipped them playing, I knew you could use them to reach but I liked doing the game a room, or maybe 3 if I panic, at a time

is there a reason why you did this with the tape radar singing off? I noticed both you and the second place record did it like that and I'm curious why you'd have it off when it seems like it only gives you an advantage

I had the singing on, It just might have not come across on the recording well. It's the only reason I had a chance getting the run.

I'm pretty sure you have to listen to them, I don't have the whole collection and i think its due to shooting them

@@mehastings27 thanks for the answer ! I love this game a lot and even tho it's very RNG heavy I'm sure it can go way lower with some more parcouring and fast clearing level sections

@@nyaxayn7885 For sure, my record pace on either of the first two stages was a little under one minute, but those were extremely rare runs that basically ended on the next level.

Shooting the tapes means no chance at getting long messages that run the clock, and no chance at threat echoes, as well as you can get tapes that are hard/impossible to reach.

@@Bozothcow you're good, I just really have a hard time with this game now. I was a pretty unpleasant person to be around while I was running it, and now whenever I go back to play it I just feel stressed out and miserable. On top of that, they made it to where you have to watch the entire death animation before you can restart a run from level 1
