But damn, loading the magazines is muscle memory for you - althought I noticed you kept checking your chamber over and over, is that to make sure you don't unload on accident or are you just not keeping count? Lol. With the 1911, I was usually sure whenever the gun was loaded or not and even did tactical (7+1) reloads efficiently. Oh and, I can't get the mod to work on my end. Not sure if you could help me with that, but I'd be hapy if you could!
I'd love to speedrun this game as well, but after seeing all my success runs, I have concluded that this game among many others is not too worth the run, as it's not so much about skill as it is pure luck. RNG can cause a game to be 5 minutes, or it can make a single run attempt take half an hour should you be skilled enough to fend off 5+ airdrones at once consistantly. Either way, nice shooting.
@@nathansantee7056 It really is pure luck. Receiver is completely RNG, You can get a 1911 and 2 full mags or a model 10, 3 rounds and a flashlight, and then you can find all the tapes pretty quick or you'll find all of them after half an hour.

If you have the revolver, you can open the magazine and hold "V" to discard of empty casings. If there are bullets in the magazine, that haven't been shot yet, you'll have to pick them back up. Sometimes you'll have to press "V" multiple times, to get all casings out. Empty casings don't look any different than normal bullets (except for the missing projectile), so you have to empty the entire magazine and reload it.
I always found it quite funny that the faster you run through generated segments in this game, the more enemies will spawn. Pretty nice run though, I've only ever managed to get 10 tapes. so close. ;-; One thing that I've wondered though, would using any other gun make a difference on your overall time?
If I used the modded weapons such as the shotgun, it would be considerably easier to disable the bots. I chose the 1911 because it is the most difficult weapon in the base game (although the bolt-action rifle using the mod is more challenging by far). I do not believe that my choice of guns would effect my final time in any significant way. If you got 10/11 tapes, you should be able to complete the game; to get as many as 10 requires good decision-making as well as proficiency with the reloading system :D

It wouldn't be. You had tapes rolling from the moment you grabbed the first (except for a quick moment where you paused one)! I didn't count, but you probably had more than 11 tapes. by the end you really got ahead of the playback.

Feel like they should've hired a voice actor. Maybe it's because I've heard so many devlogs narrated by this guy, but he doesn't sound convincing at all in character.
It's easy to speak in a numb, dull voice, but around him there's no ambience, we can't tell where he's at or what state he's in, and for such an act of anarchy there is no urgency or conviction at all in his voice; there's just no acting. When I hear him, I see a man in a clean bedroom, at a desk, reading a script to a microphone, not someone trying to survive in an abandoned apartment, speaking to an ancient cassette recorder, his only means to leave his message and change the future of the human world.
I was trying to take an optimist's stance on the voice-acting, in reality I agree with you. The dialogue is completely uninspired and a total snooze-fest. On a side-note, look up 3draven's remake of this game; it's still WIP, but it holds good promise.

So, he's a making a unity port with new weapons, turrets, and mechanics? Nice, though it looks like he's left it behind. Wolfire's games are all about physically accurate mechanics, but the stories are weak. They're more tech demo than game, really. Additions and tweaks abound and the "game" is lost to time.

Ejecting the mag (e).
Holstering the weapon (~).
Repeatedly pressing r.

In heavy bullets you can reuse the same 6 rounds the entire game, if you are careful.
so reciever is basically a game about the 2016 US election (defeating the evil media with guns and meme magic)
