I always find it so funny how the characteristics of queens that were villianized back in the day, would be the same characteristics that would make them quite likeable and relatable today.

King Charles, this one, was described as "Swarthy" in Complexion. I just finished reading it.

I don't understand why Charles chose to marry her knowing that Parliament and the people would be against having, not only a French Queen, but a Catholic one at that.

It was either Charles the second or third that was described as Swarthy.

The 2nd. The current British Monarch is Charles III.

Someone's lying!!!! I just read that king Charles was of "Swarthy Complexion". His son, Charles the third, I think third, was described as "Swarthy" in Complexion, a contradiction of the paintings.

Nicely done, but only left me wanting more; historically.
What was the age difference? How many pregnancies & live births? How many of his consorts did she have to deal with? Did she have English tudors? Seven palaces? Did she live separate from the king? And more..

As a Stuart history fan, I can answer these questions :)
The age difference between Henrietta and Charles was 9 years.
She had 9 pregnancies and 7 live births.
Surprisingly, Charles had no lovers other than Henrietta which I find really sweet, so she didn't have to deal with any mistresses.
I don't think she had English tutors.
She had quite a lot of palaces, though I'm not sure exactly how many. Sorry.
And she and the king lived together.
      Hope I helped
