I always thought the intro transition into the first menu was the coolest shit when it was released. Seeing them make a whole menu animation for a one time viewing was sick.
So much detail, also what I love about all Max Payne games is they don't just say "quit to desktop" or "return to menu" they'll say something cool and poetic like "I couldn't take it anymore" or "I had to keep pushing on" super immersive!
The one at the police station looks so next-gen you wouldn't think this came out in 2012. Everything about this game is extremely detailed, Rockstar really put an equal amount of effort developing a linear game as they did with their open world games , criminally underrated
For me it's the best linear game I've ever played, everything was so detailed even the guns I mean Max really pulls the trigger, we can see empty magazines etcetera
Honestly more linear games should do main menus like this. Like Uncharted or Last of us. Just the protagonist(s) taking a break in the area you last saved. Also now that I think about it, some of these menu screens felt like alternate outcomes. For example the chapter 2 screen is probably what happened if the Comando Sombra didn't attack the club and attempt to kidnap Giovanna and Fabiana. Max just went up to the roof to relax. Or the kidnapping DID happen, but this time, Giovanna was successfully kidnapped too and that's why Max was standing on that balcony, feeling like shit. And the final chapter screen, maybe that's what happened if Da Silva didn't show up immediately after Max defeated Becker.
I wish more video game menus were similar in nature to MP3's menu. I also love the detail of the main menu changing depending on where you are in the story, it's such a neat touch I love it.
Bruce Wayne mourned his family but not like max did , Bruce is a millionaire who gets to enjoy life ( Parties , women , cars etc ....) but max was straight up broken And depressed in mp3 and that's something I can relate too
Intro: Max sitting down having a drink in a gloomy dark room. Epilogue: Max sitting down having a drink on a bright sunny day.........a bit closer to heaven.
Not sure what do you mean "tormenting from past" if you mean hoboken bar accident than there is two background animations with Max in his NJ outfit(one for bar and another for graveyard) On 4:48 Giovana babysitting outfit
"Way I see it, there's two types of people. Those who spend their life trying to build a future, and those who spend their lives trying to re-build the past".
I like the Panama one where he’s surrounded by people partying and he’s completely alone in his thoughts.
That one kinda hurts

Yeah its the thing created first by Remedy since MP1. I remember having a hard time to exit because I didnt understand it when I was a kid.

Lol taking a break while a shootout is going on
@@ansonilam1234 I agree it's ridiculous, but in Max Payne 3's final chapter, he's standing with an explosion behind him lol, so meh.
Portal 2 did this
Spec Ops The Line did this with a certain sniper and US flag.
Darksiders 2 did this too
I love him standing in front of the flames at 6:50. Like an angel of death

Full depression for death family

Even though Remedy Games didnt make this one, Rockstar Games knocked it out of the damn park.

Epilogue: Max sitting down having a drink on a bright sunny day.........a bit closer to heaven.
