Some of you are so worried about a preseason game. One where our defensive starters only gave up 3 points to the other teams offensive starters. Also our “starters” on defense were missing Milano, Oliver, Jones, and Miller. Relax you aren’t going to see the playbook or even a game plan. Smh some of you need to learn football and what preseason is for.

I just started watching you this last year and I gotta say you are one of my favorite people to watch about the bills. Very level headed and very knowledgeable thank you for your hard work brotha!
3 things stick out to me.
1, vpg should get the start with mcgovern back at left
2, was miss block on Edmunds really cooks fault or Josh for not being able to call it out pre snap.
3, Keon wins those battles if the ball is thrown up for grabs utilize your players skill set
Counter govern wasn't good at run blocking At left guard Last year And from this game he can't do it as a center. So who says he's left guard. He was the weakest link last year. Time to realize he only can make Backup and make pizzas after the game

The O-line coach has quite a bit of work to do with his players.
It doesn’t matter folks. Don’t get hurt is the reason during the pre season
One thing people tend to forget about the Bears is they already have one game under their belt, plus an extra week of practice. That makes a huge difference this early in the season.
Tylan Grable. While he is a rookie, he will turn 25 in October. Not sure how that affects how the coaches view him as a developmental player. On the flip side Sedrick Van Pran-Granger is only 22. So in 3 years SVPG will be 25, but will be a pretty seasoned veteran.
Here's what I want to see in the next preseason game. Everyone putting in way more effort. The offensive line blocking people and winning the physical battles instead of getting run over. The defense playing more aggressive and putting pressure on the quarterback. A QB named something other than Allen that looks like they can win an NFL game. No drops from the receiving corp. It's really not much to ask.
You need Josh to stay in till they get TD. They need Johnson back and starting as RB. They need Granger as Starting Center and McGovern starting LG. They need Claypool back ahead of MVS. Need players healthy. Defense missing 3 of their best players still,4 with Oliver.
That said, Pittsburg will handle us fairly easy. Obvious this Team isn’t ready yet!!!!! Josh though makes us better!!!!
Top 2 RB’s were NOT good and Cook often starts slow. By mid season he is good. Shouldn’t be the starter anymore,make him earn it! We need you Johnson,he should be the starter!!!
As commented predraft, Start an explosive & strong ,young Granger at center. That was obvious. Thank God we have him. Replace Mcgovern asap , not a decent depth lineman.
VPG should start, has 3 years at Center on National Championship team. Way ahead of McGovern now!!!
Worth noting Gouraige had a pancake block at RT and did a very good job there pass blocking against the 3s.

I listened to the radio (WGR) after listening to this video. I felt better informed then the hosts on the radio. Locked On Bills is the best!
Just an FYI Joe, at least the way I do film videos I am able to put enough McDugal flair on it to not get copyrighted on it (its funny but its only college tape that gives me trouble, lol) but I also get why the freedom of showing that kind of content is really appealing. Maybe one day I'll get there with taking some content off TH-cam but I do appreciate your channel. I may not be an every-day-er but I try to get my daily Joe Marino as much as I can.
Separation isn't Coleman's strength , hes going to have issues going up against vets

SVPG should be C#1 fir us. Have him grow with Torrence side by side. We can keep McGovern as our super depth guy. Why waste time.
You're not paying McGovern to be a depth piece. VPG played against a 3rd team unit, if he was ready McGovern would be back at guard.

@@user-bw9jo2pv4y Nobody on the offensive line stood out as a run blocker. That was a total unit failure not just one guy. They haven't ironed out their timing, they'll get better.
@privateer236 I absolutely understand he was superior to a backups backup. Even knowing that, a Georgia , SEC centerwho has that many snaps in college and dominated, will be and should be a good starter. We will see. He will probably get second team snaps sooon

I like both of you, but man your takes and their takes on the same players... OTAs, training camp and this game are almost the exact opposite! It's amazing that 2 Bills shows are so markedly different in player opinion and assessment!

People are going to realize not having Poyer and Hyde is huge. They really should of kept Poyer.

This had to be a tough tape to watch.
The Bills need to upgrade the running back position. Cook is not a good back. He is a situational running back at best. The new kid Davis could be eventually ok, but not right now. Cook is still worth something on the trade market. AJ Dillon could become available.
AJ Dillon? You can't be serious. How is that an upgrade from Cook?
We can't evaluate the backs properly until the offensive line starts blocking somebody. Nobody was doing anything from the RB position with the way the offensive line got absolutely dominated.

This season will he nothing but a repeat of last year it they even make the playoffs, out in the divisional.. this WR core is nowhere near good enough, nor is it scaring anyone, McGovern at C sux & so do the Safeties, Apple Epenada & Rousseau aren't some elite sack machines at DE either.. this is faaaar from an elite roster & definitely its worst talent wise for the last 4 years.. going on yr 7 with Allen & No 1st rd picks at WR or OL to have playmakers around him is unacceptable imo, too much to the Defense, which ultimately has been nothing but 🗑 in the playoffs.. Coleman was also not the best WR they could've drafted, not expecting much from him at all, he's slow & gets no separation through 3 years of college with a lousy 1500yrds receiving over those 3 yrs & highly doubt that magically changes anytime soon...

I'm curious what the teams do who played in the HOF game historically in their 2nd game against teams playing in their 1st game.
No excuse, just see a competitive disadvantage for a team playing its 1st game vs one playing its 2nd.

Don’t panic. Remember vs Steelers last year in the preseason? Starters took like 15 penalties and I feel like 10 were on the OL.
Torrence had a PFF pass blocking grade of 1.6. Let me say that again- Torrence had a PFF pass blocking grade of 1.6.- so tell us all again how well the Bills did in pass blocking- c'mon Joe- you are better than this.
Huh? I am comfortable with my takeaways. If you have a question about a PFF grade, you can ask them. I disagree with tons of their grades and much of my analysis does not align with how they grade.
@@LockedOnBills First of all- I am a huge fan BUT- Da Bills O Line looked just like they looked against the Bengals 2 years ago in the playoffs- over-matched. They got bulldozed. I think we owe it to ourselves to be honest about stuff like this. I have never seen a 1.6 PFF grade like Torrence got- EVER. Has he regressed?? Maybe. Is McGovern the answer at Center- obviously not. I think our O Line is a serious problem this year. VPG should start and move McGovern back to Guard.

@@macstacks2451 I can only speak for myself but this looked exactly like our playoff games vs Cincy or KC- our O Line getting bulldozed pretty much all game and our D Line not getting any push. The more things change the more they stay the same. My fear is we will look back on the McDermott years as the years we wasted Josh Allen.

James Cook in not a #1 back. He’s a 1B at best! He is weak at the point of contact, and gives no yards after… If the scheme or blocking doesn’t get him yards, the play goes for zero. He doesn’t create. He’s weak in pass protection and is so bad, that teams don’t even account for him

Timing errors on the offensive line. Mental errors by Trubisky and SB (who is now gone). Whip the Oline in shape and see what they do Vs the Steelers. i pray we don't see Mitch when it matters. The guy has not mastered the diagnosis of a defense - a key trait I look to for successful backup QBs. Massive aside - Can we draft and groom the next Frank Reich? Purdy was available in round 7. Why not add a young QB to learn behind Josh? Is it because the Bills have a HC who comes from the defensive side of the ball? OC turnover 3X in 7 years under SM. I see this as a flaw. Anyone else?

Good Morning Joe. Why don’t Bills podcasters and TV broadcasters recognize Shakir can catch the football better than Diggs and Shakir runs after the catch better than Diggs to me? Why can’t Shakir be a number 1 receiver? The broadcasters and podcasters have judged and categorized Shakir before the season started. Nothing more ignorant than a opinionated male ego.
Shakir is a great slot receiver but is not a #1 receiver. It's just the way it is. He's Cole Beasley
@@ArkOmen1 I thought OP made a fair point. There's no major gaps in Shakir's route tree, he has speed, his size is comparable to Diggs, he was our best YAC receiver last year..... Diggs was a #1, there's no reason to think Shakir cant reach that level in the next year or two.
There's also no evidence that Shakir cannot perform on the outside. He's made plays in the slot, he's made plays out wide.

I don't think it's the first time That's starting offensive line Play together. They've been together for the last 3 or 4 years. It has to do with some type of leverage or maybe play calling. If you have Reggie Gilliam Quentin moores on the field at the same time.
Neither one of them can block a defensive N.end. Bottom line, this was play calling an execution.
Mitch Morse was the center! He's gone! The guards are not the same. They moved guard to center and started a different guard! So no they haven't been together 3or4 seasons. Edward's an McGovern only here a year as well as 2nd year for guard Torrance!
