Honestly I would have never though of it. But maybe if I clarivy? I meant keeping together longterm. Ofcource during mating season they are introduced for short periods and if they are ready they will mate. I do the same with my Sacalia, some Cuora and Platysternon. Sacalia male will move to landarea when he is chaced away by female. Cuora lay seperate, Platysternon only need to quickly mate and then be seperated again. Pelodiscus sinensis is same.. quick intro of female to male aqua. If she is ready she will allow.. straight after mating male will try to "run" asap as females will then chase them away and they can damage a male badly. My Malayemys are now in first year I could try mating so will see what best form of introduction is and make sure male always has a place to get away from female she can not reach. I know of 1 keeper who does keep his females together. But males will be outcompeted for food fast in his group and become more shy. With seperate I mean longterm keeping together of several individuals can impact fertility, food and some will fight.

- 2:30 Is that because the breeder doesn't want you to breed && sell them? If they cannot be together how did he breed them!? Hmm... 🤔

Great video! This is my first time seeing this species.
I've got one here as a pet (malayemys). I've had him for about 18 years. He still acts like a total juvenile.
Best video ever! I like the way you are thinking! ✌️😂
Hahaha. Thanks Ed ;)
