BEAUTIFUL vintage planes. The Ercoupe is a new favorite. I liked the different camera angles. I especially liked the wing camera. That's a different perspective you don't often see.
Very nice video which recalls our flight from Chico, to Shasta, to Oregon border and then east to Mountain Home, Idaho in 2019. My Friend Terry and I had flown our motorglider from Atlanta to Corning, CA for light sport aviation repairman training. We had planned to retrace our departure over Lake Tahoe, but hellish easterly winds over the Sierras nixed that route, so we went north and then East. On the first day we stopped at Lake County airport for fuel and lunch before heading out to Mountain Home for the night. A few days later we ended our great adventure in Princeton, NJ; near to my home. Fantastic scenery and some challenging weather, but a hallmark life experience. Thanks for bringing up the memory for me. Keep up the good work.
First airplane I ever flew was a 8E....then a Ercoupe....back in the mid-1960's was a fun time. Been flying for a living all my life. Ferried a Ercoupe a couple of years ago, a moment back in my past...FUN.
So nice to see that pretty Stearman in the sunlight! Loved the radio comment, "looks like a TH-cam conspiracy!" You guys look the 94th Aero Sqadron enroute.
I had to smile at those shots of the Stearman when the camera shutter speed and the engine RPM would sync and he looked like he was idling along at about 2 RPM or even stopped. What a beautiful day for flying!!
Great adventure James and co; look forward to the rest of the journey. Takes me back to the start of my flying days in the late 1960's . Cheers, Victor
Another great adventure James!! Would love to have a inflight photo of all three aircraft in slide formation with Mt. Shasta in the background. Shinny & colorful what a great shot that would be for your “ I love me wall “ James!! I would take an autographed copy by all three of you “now” famous pilots. Keep up the great adventures James because you are growing you fan base quite rapidly... Take care Sir!
James, It's been nearly 50 years since I flew an Ercoupe from OAK to KSNS, CA for my x-country training. Love these videos. I just flew an Ercoupe 415 (X-Plane simulator) from Dead Cow to your place at KGOO. Can I borrow some hangar space? Oh wait... I'm just a virtual pilot now, so I'm depending on you for the vicarious Ercoupe experiences.
Nice views of the Valley, Shasta and its surrounding countryside from an aerial prospective. The I-5 corridor was easy to spot along the way.. I couldn't pick out the UP line up the hill though. Thanks for posting.
While you're at the Hood River Airport you have to check out The Hood River Aviation and Automobile Museum. Your legs will give out before you see it all--its a fantastic museum!
Hello! You point out an important fact here, that I didn't explain (in the video) why we were going to Hood River. It was actually to visit the museum's annual fly-in. So you will see it in a later video. And agreed, it's an amazing museum!
It's am small world... Drove up to the WAAAM Flyin (probably saw your plane up there). On the way home on Sunday saw a flight of 3 airplanes overhead just south of Klamath Falls. We know who that was :-) I commented to a friend with me that you guys weren't taking V25 down to Red Bluff but it looked like you wanted to get beat-up between Mt Shasta and Mt Eddy. It's also strange that the friend with me was looking to buy an Ercoupe and had talked about the one at KLMT for sale. Glad I found the channel!!! Thanks for taking the time to post your adventures.
Good fun to be in a flight of two three planes. Not so funny when you are in gliders trying to keep height as well, but yet to go on a powered flight with a few planes. Edit_ It was good fun watching you all though. EDIT: Just to add. I have heard of medicine wheels on the ground in the USA, could the wheel you saw be one of those? Don't know who made them as I don't think the native tribes had the wheel. Mabe they did, but I think I read somewhere they didn't, but someone knew about wheels, but then they could have been done after they saw wheels on wagons.
Great video. Beautiful scenery, amazing to see the others in formation. I enjoyed following it on maps on second screen to get a sense of the landscape, it's really useful to name the places. Would love to fly there at some point.
Wow..another TH-cam Conspiracy! Now you are In My territory. I surely wish I had known, I could have popped up from Grants Pass and joined your flight for a bit ! Beautiful job by all on this one. Spectacular. Joe
For a moment I thought that you were doing this trip in October. I'm in PDX, it's October 21st, and looking toward Hood River, the conditions look awful. I would not want to attempt it even if I had one of those "do everything" Aeroplanes.
OMG! I didn't recognise you without all that bristles on your face! What make and model of car was that? To keep this question simple, What were the aircraft flying please? Your own aircraft stands out from the others, though they are nice also, but the style of your plane and the fact it is silver is a touch of class.
@@JamesGood The Stearman I guessed at but had no idea of the other. Thanks for the reply. Did you find lightning on the other video or was it a hic-up, maybe the later, I have not had time to watch it again. Just love that aircraft of yours. Look after it.
James, why do you not record all your audio 2 track so that we can hear the engines and other external sounds all of the time during the lengthy lulls in conversation? We can hear the unshielded magnito cable oscillation during the first 11 minutes of the recording. Much better to hear the engines of the antique airplanes.
Each camera feed is a ton of work, syncing up all the footage. I think this one took a week just to get all the feeds lined up. A separate sound feed would be continuous, which would make it easier, but then again, it's more batteries, cards, etc to record it. Plus, my iPhone and GoPro's are horrible at recording engine sounds from the cockpit, so I'd probably need an external mic or dedicated sound recorder. Would be nice, but more money and work. And yes, the Stearman's mags were picked up when he was in tight formation, kind of cool. And also why it's so difficult to hear on the radio in there!
What a blast flying with Brent and Andrew in formation. Great videos James! I really enjoyed them.
Thanks, Randy. Glad you enjoyed, it was a great trip.
Fun, Fun, Fun....great view of the area...thanks you three.

Love the “stuck in the middle with you” reference 😂👌🏽👌🏽

Mate, this is such a great video. Lovely footage and aircraft and Stealers Wheel reference. Keep up the good work.
The shot from your wing cam of the Lusc & Stearman at your 7 o'clock is great.
Some really great air-air shots :-)
Shiny aircraft! That ‘56 Chevy was nice too! Thank you, James.
Nice flight with your son. I really like the H-stab mounted camera.....more than the old wing tip location.
Stunning, I've watched this multiple times, then explored the area on Google Earth. Thank you from NZ
Lovely to hear that you enjoyed them. Makes all the filming and editing hassle worthwhile!
Awesome 😎
Awesome!
Just celebrated my 82nd Birthday yesterday and glad to be joining another beautiful adventure with you and friends James ! Great video !
Happy Birthday, Stanley! I hope you had a good one!
@@JamesGood Thank you James ! always look forward to your adventures because your adventures are mine ! Love them.
Belated Happy Birthday. :-))
very nice adventure
What an awesome video! Amazing shots of 3 beautiful planes. A gorgeous day to fly!😎👍

Oh man looks like you guys were having a great time!
We were!
I love flying with the Ercoupes windows open.
Beautiful planes! Great video! Thanks for taking us along! 8)

Ive driven from Redding to the Columbia many times. It's fun to see it from the air. Thanks for the video
Some beautiful scenery, and great air to air photography James. And that Luscombe is gorgeous too!
Very cool and looks like it was a ton of fun. Can't wait for the next part. :-)

I fly X-Plane too! I would love to update the XPFR Ercoupe model. It's cool, but needs a much better flight model, and animated gear.
Another great adventure! What a 3some. Scenery is awesome

I've watched a lot of videos and this is probably the best
Great flight with some good friends! There's nothing like doing the thing you love With other's that have the same taste in FUN!
I must say, GREAT video work and thanks for taking the time and effort to share your adventures on You tube.

Great video! That’s an awesome flight path. I have flown it many times in my Cherokee. Fly safe!
Nice aerial video! Been there, done that! Have fun! Cyndi
Great to fly with you again James - quite something to have you guys in formation. Some super footage - great scenery.
Thanks, Chris!
Great scenery and photo ,regards.

Hey Khadijah, this trip was at the beginning of Sept. I should have put a date in the video, my bad!
Adjustable cameras in flight. Sweet!
I was suffering from Ercoupe withdraw, lol. Glad your back. What do you use to polish your plane, it’s gleaming.
lol, it is quite a good looking aircraft and it is nice just to sit and watch.
Nice video. Be careful in Weed; if the wind stops blowing, you could fall over.

Your own aircraft stands out from the others, though they are nice also, but the style of your plane and the fact it is silver is a touch of class.
The other aircraft were a 1943 Boeing-Stearman PT-13, and a 1946 Luscombe 8A.

I don't know where you find that smoooooth air in the middle of the day...

Have you got a "snubber" line on your nose gear that keeps it partially compressed?
I do have a snubber cable, still. I will remove it at some point, but still there for now.
Do you have a friend that owns & flies a gyro copter? Would like to view some video with a gyro flying with vintage aircraft.
Do the other two pilots have you tube channels?
Not yet. They are picvic and brentebeck79 on instagram.
At 24:26 Google no help with wagon wheel...
Luscombe cross controlling in formation, too much work lol!
Whe just say “go fingers” when switching to 123.45
I Love Weed, California
“Cracking good”.....what you turned 82 also James!? Hehehe! BBC.
