Planted mine out last year at a similar size to yours. Only took -3 so not really tested. Amazing leaves but like you say the slugs hunt them down. I think a sheltered spot is also key as the leaves do get battered by the wind.

Thanks for the info, It will be really interesting to see how it copes with lower temperatures.
I'm also enjoying the new garden, space to try new interesting plants and finally plant a few that have languished in pots for far too long at my old garden.
