Honestly seeing where you started is actually really encouraging to me. I’ve wanted to start my own channel for a while but I’m too nervous. Seeing that even bigger creators had a more humble beginning makes me a little more comfortable with the idea that you have to start somewhere even if it’s imperfect.
Everyone starts somewhere! Trust me when I say I have even WORSE videos than this - like my early videos were almost exclusively me doing "finger guns" at the camera

To be honest, I was here during the first book haul video. Back when I was struggling with college and the endless math and programming classes I had to take, your videos were a breath of fresh air. I was always reminded that there are still good books out there, and people who enjoyed them just as much as I did. The small stuff, your channel included, kept me going 😭

The Shadow Of The Wind...I just- Carlos Ruiz Zafón passed away today 💔 I was also led to him by a friend who lended me all his books, but this was the first one and it will forever hold a special place un my heart. It was nice seeing you be kind and respectful to your past self/reading choices. We all cringe with ourselves from the past, it’s only natural- but it was extremely refreshing to see someone acknowledge their past preferences and how they’ve changed to this day. Shitting on yourself for your taste a few years back is so sad, whereas you showed that you simply grew up and with that your taste shifted. I can definitely acknowledge a problematic book that I read and enjoyed in the past, but I don’t hate myself for it as some people do. I know better now, I’ve matured and educated myself, that’s all that matters.

I love seeing how much you’ve grown since this video was filmed! ❤️ it’s clear you’ve become so much more comfortable being yourself in front of a camera and don’t feel like you have to put on “a show” if that makes sense? I also think some of that is just the natural calming down that happens when a person goes from teenaged to mid-20s 😂😂
Oh wow this is a throwback! I got really excited as well when you mentioned the Diviner’s series, the fourth and final book came out this year (!) and I used my time in lockdown to marathon the series, it was so worth the wait, I very much recommend you check it out again!

I started watching you like two years ago but wow, 7 years back, 2013 regan is so cute. Many of us really want to start a booktube channel, I even own one( not advertising just say, I hate my channel btw), but your vlogs are something I look forward to every weekend. The glowup is awesome and 2013 regan is so cute. I was 14 back then😂. Seeing our old videos is cringey for sure but the way you have evolved and established yourself as a go to book rec specialist is all that matters. Half of my bookshelf is filled with your recs and thanks to you that I bought the shadow of the wind, this January, in a thrift store and was super excited. I loved it❤

OMG! OG Regan!! I remember this, and I feel like I was around when the channel switch happened! Literally you and Whitney from Whittynovels were the first booktubers I started watching!
I can so relate to this. Some if not most of my videos had been when ""American girl dolls"" were a massive thing back in maybe 2016ish. And I plan on actually keeping them up, but when I'm back in college I might change into a bookish channel. I still feel like I have a long way to go though, but this video was very helpful and interesting to watch.

I Have several audiobooks, physical books, and Kindle books that I haven't gotten to yet. I try to read or listen to the ones that have been sitting around the longest so that I don't feel guilty about purchasing more books without reading the ones that I have. I have also created an Amazon wishlist or I save book recommendation videos instead of buying all the books I want to read at once. I used to buy books that I thought I "should" read ( classics and non fiction) but I have gotten better about only getting books that I want to read
