    @7:07 you talk about making sure the crotch curves are trued and smooth. if i’m making pants and the inseams are angled further inwards, how do i draft the back crotch curve so that there’s no peak when connecting the front and back? the start of the back crotch curve would have to be angled upwards rather than parallel to the crotch line like you instructed here. any help?

    • @PatternStudio101
      @PatternStudio101  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It doesn’t have to be 90’ on both corners. Many times, front angle is bigger than 90’, and the back crotch is smaller. But when you match the inseam, the crotch curve should be nice and smooth.

    Was following it to make my own pattern but got confused at how many inches for the extension of the line that ran form the waist to the hip for the drafting back pattern

    @6:00 you say to draw the back crotch curve lower than the front. why is that? what effect does that have on the fit of the pants?

    • @PatternStudio101
      @PatternStudio101  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It depends on the hip shape. But you have to think that the back crotch curve needs to be curved enough to wrap the hip and goes to the crotch point which is further front. The crotch point is not at the center of the thigh when you see the body from the side.

      Sorry, I don’t think I have understand your question. Which guidelines are you talking about?

    • @Amelia-ts7yb
      @Amelia-ts7yb 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@PatternStudio101Hi, thank you for the reply. The grain line is a long arrow on a pattern piece that tells you how to align the pattern piece on the fabric (whether it is the straight grain of fabric or bias etc) so you end up with a well fitted garment. The grainline is seen on a lot of commercial patterns, so I was surprised that there was no mention of where to draw it on the pants patterns and as I’m a beginner I don’t know where to draw it without instructions.

    • @PatternStudio101
      @PatternStudio101  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Amelia-ts7yb Oh grainline! In this case, the vertical line is a grainline for both front & back. The vertical line stared from the dart end to the hem on the front.
