Ryan is a favorite musician of mine. i was thrilled to see and hear him at the Colonsay Music Festival in Sept. 2017 - Brilliant, absolutely Brilliant!
Magnificent Gifted the lads got Rhythm Scotland must be one of the worlds greatest musical inspiration. im well proud to have Scotland in my heart and in my blood
What is with all these young musicians in Scotland sliding? That's not part of the Scottish tradition. At least, not to the excess they are using it. A couple slides here and there maybe, but not that many slides, and especially not in those placements. Other than that, this is pretty good.
ben kinsella I am not betterm but I know some others at his age playing piano concertos and stuff. That is what I find impressive. I tought there would be some display of technical skill or the piece would turn into something marvelous, but neither happened. Don´t get me wrong I enjoyed it and he is good, but I think, that when BBC uploads something like this and it´s a non-adult playing an instrument. I think there would be something more amazing.
Thanks for the clarity of your answer -- the distinction is certainly real! (You would have loved an old BBC film where Yehudi Menuhin was talking about Scottish fiddling and specifically strathspey style with a master of the music -- Hector MacAndrew, I believe: he tried to join in with Hector but it was not a good match, lacking the underlying rhythm necessary for dancing.)
Ryan plays with a real passion and has an uplifting style. Brilliant.
Thank you for the joy and fullness you bring to my heart
No doubting the skill set that this young musician has, a real feel for the music and talented young man.

Nice playing, definitely channelling some Martin Hayes there.
Gorgeous playing, so soulful
Ryan is one of Scotland's top fiddlers. I'm looking forward to his new CD.

is the reel called rakish paddy - Paddy O'Brien does a great version
In Scotland it's "Caber Feidh". Mr. Young does a nice job of mixing the two versions together in the A section.
This is absolutely remarkable at 1x speed and absolutely hilarious at 2x speed.

Sip,pero el uso del arco es más del estilo de liz carroll, digamos que entre eso y el "toque escocés" tiene un estilo propio muy interesante
@@elvideoblogtrollico1816you bet me to this. This is exactly what I was thinking
Is the first piece called a slip jig?? As a dutchman I am not that familiar with scotish music.

Martin Hayes influence....? Yes quite possibly, but I'd suggest he's his own man.Perhaps he should play a strathspey?

how old is he?
It's quite nice, but not that impressive.

Hannes Firzlaff classical music is pointless and not an enjoyable experience for anyone with real musical sense
