Hey everyone, long time no see!
I wanted to do a fully story-driven song and PV this time, but man did it turn out to be a challenge! And I guess choosing to work on it during the exams didn't help hahah
I can't say I like the way it turned out in the end, I had to cut a lot of corners in the process and oof it really shows. I think this is also the first time I've ever made a video in full colour? I probably should've gone with a restricted palette like I usually do, this one ended up being all over the place. I really hope it's not too jarring!
The art is pretty inconsistent and kinda wonky sometimes, BUT I do have an excuse of having to draw over 100 assets (is that valid? i hope it is;;) Though I do wish I went with a cuter artstyle here
ALSO I tried to make the lyrics more straightforward this time and they turned out kinda awkward, but maybe I'm just a slut for metaphorical word salads idk
All in all, I'm not super happy with how this animu turned out, but I am glad to be finally done with it! This has been the most difficult pv I had to work with to date and I'm glad I made it. Still, stuff takes an ungodly amount of time, so for now I think I'm going to stick to more stylized videos!
Also hey it's my first vid in 2019 (though the song was made way back in November whoops)! Again, I want to thank everyone for all the unexpected support I got in 2018 and I can't wait to see what this year has in store!

Sure, I'd like to make it a series! Not every video is going to be of this scope, but I do have some plans for these characters, so yeah!

@@molly19144 Yeah Yuzuki Yukari indeed has only a japanese set of phenemes. You can check that in the wikia page for further info. Ferry had to edit her singing on a pheneme (a set of available characters) level, and still make her sound reletavely understandable.

ユラ：茶髪の男の子、17歳。貧乏な家に生まれ、将来の目的がなく今の楽しみだけのために生きている。
サニア：白髪(アルビノ)の女の子、16歳。
KT：ミュータントの女の子、13歳。研究施設から脱走してきた。
ストーリー
夏の終わりの出来事。夜遊び中のユラは、騒ぎに出くわした。女の子が飲み物をギャングのリーダーにかけてしまったらしい。ユラは一瞬女の子の瞳の異様さに目を奪われたが、女の子が痛めつけられる前にサニア、続いて仲間たちが助けに入り、ユラも慌てて喧嘩に混じった。その後、女の子はKTと自己紹介をし、家出してきたのだと語った。サニアとユラはKTのために隠れ家を作り、生活に必要なものを持ち込んだ。
2週間ほど一緒に遊ぶ中で、ユラとKTは兄妹のような親しい関係を築いた。ある日、サニアを家に送る途中、サニアの兄(セルゲイ)はKTの腕にある特殊な模様に気付く。ミュータントに関してよく知る彼は、彼女もそのうちの一人だと認識した。その夜、ユラとKTは別のパーティーに行った。そこでユラは感情的に崩壊してしまい、KTが慰めて落ち着かせてくれた。
翌日、サニアの家に行った彼らは、セルゲイがKTの存在を通報していたことを知る(とはいえセルゲイも武装した特殊部隊は予想していなかった)。自己防衛のため、KTはミュータント能力を開放したが、結局は捕まって施設に連れ戻されてしまった。

Hi I got recommended your convergence video and now I'm binge watching everything I love PAFL this is great
Only now i noticed there's an ongoing theme with sergei and dawn that links him, nikita and for some reason the reactor, in this particular case since sergei is the one who called the security he could be seen as the dawn that ended the party (which is KT's time with the kids). I am also convinced Sergei will sacrifice to protect Olga sanya and even yura by the lines "the warden keeps digging his grave" signifying that his overprotectiveness pushed sanya in all of this as she wanted to escape, and the line "even though I know that someday this weight will come to break my back" which is a line to say that he takes blame for Nikita's brother's death but also probable foreshadowing to Sergei sacrificing himself to save Olga, and since the kids are trying to bail her out he will intervene to also save them paying the ultimate price. (I hope I'm wrong because Sergei is my favourite character)

This was amazing!!! So many drawings oh man that must’ve taken awhile! But what happened to Ms. Monster Girl? My best assumption is that after she defends the girl and boy she was captured in the van at the second to last scene.
A song with story, awesome!! And one that sounds good as well!
That said, do you mind if I try and make sense of it all? The way I saw this was, the guy in the red jumper goes to the party with the white-haired girl who saves the monster girl from being attacked. The party goes on and they talk and help her out, but then the guy in the green notices she's a monster and calls the police/disposal people to come and take her away, and she fights them off but gets captured?

I love the PV! The drawings are very well done and they express the story perfectly. The lyrics are still hard to understand sometimes without the words on-screen, but I like seeing your videos get more complex and just generally better. This is definitely going to my Playlist

Watching this a second time really makes this even more enjoyable, I was able to catch little hints as to what would come next after I knew what to expect. Also knowing the fact that the monster girl came to the party by falling through the ceiling makes this 10000% better. Poor girl, she deserves better.

Wow! What an amazing piece of work. Amount of art pieces to put together the pv is huge, must have taken you long to draw and edit everything. I'm a bit too sleep-deprived now to really try to analyze the lyrics and the story, so I'll leave it to someone else, but the instrumentals sound good as always and vocals are all tuned well.

I remember actually listening to this song 5 years ago and not being old or wise enough to understand anything of what was going on outside of that the art was amazing and the song was catchy.
Now that I'm an adult and have come back and listened to this song after ACTUAL years it's actually become my favorite. Everything about this track fascinates me; especially now being able to fully understand the context and what's going on, and revisiting it this deep into the timeline already.
I'm not saying anything about what Yura's done is justifiable, but what I AM saying is that I can understand the want to set up some undercover operation to rescue who Yura sees as one of the if not the only person he's been able to really open up to. Especially when you consider his stance on life throughout the song. He's unhappy with it, constantly escaping to parties as temporary avenues of distraction. Attempting to distract himself from the fact that he feels as though he isn't in control of his life at all, and how he has to put up a front to hide it from everyone.
Everyone except *Katya*.
I'd like to think that this is reflected through the instrumental too, which by the way is amazing as is.
The moments away from the parties with just Yura and Sanya, to Yura meeting Katya and his internal feelings being elaborated on, the flashes of Katya's facility pictures- it's all calm and controlled. The guitar medley and the drums are the only things that tend to highlight these segments, and then contrasting right after comes a crescendo of volume with some chaos to the track.
Be it whether this is representing the panning of the massive, desolate city Yura's grown to hate after the elaboration of his internals at 0:30, the audible manifestation of "losing yourself and disappearing" amongst a crowd with the crescendo at the very beginning (0:12), it all just WORKS and its SO good.
Especially the moment the track peaks from 2:20 to 2:40. The flashing paired with how empty the instrumental gets, followed by the *full* instrumental returning when present times come back with Sergei, Katya and Sanya taking their shoes off added with the new Synths; giving the feeling something's not right as they've never been there before.
Only for the SWAT to bust the door down and for melodies that weren't in the vocals and instrumental beforehand to come out.
And then after, nothing. Just like the party "ends at the break of dawn", the vocals end when Katya is captured. The percussions eighth notes continue to represent Sanya's uncertainty and panic until she gets outside with Yura-
And then just before the song ends, almost all of the instruments are stripped from the song except for the Synth itself. Reflecting how empty things must have immediately felt without Katya.
Now could I be completely wrong about all of this and I'm putting meaning where it's not? Could someone have said all this before? Yes, to both- but I love this series so much I dooon't care. Posting this anyway.
