Said it before and will say it again. Amazing job to build a BM streamliner, bring it to BM (and painted at that) and race it. No major problems with the bike and loved the 'streamlined' process of your starts. Curious to see what this year will bring in improvements and how you'll do next year in achieving 77.

Well done Russell on achieving 73.79Mph. Small team, small Budget and the biggest effort. Again, well done to you, Barney and your team.
Greetings from one Bent rider to another from Durban, South Africa.

Amazing job, Russell, and it must have been a marvelous experience!
With latex tubes you should have gone quite a bit faster in the last run, I'm sure. They're tricky to fit, though, but rarely blow up, and with small punctures they usually keep a certain pressure. If you want to save the watts and stay on the safe side, you can always add about 10 ml of sealant per latex tube (plus be generous with talcum). That setup is still much faster than butyl and much safer than latex alone. Hope that helps!
Say hi to Niklas and Bill Thornton in BM, please!

Russell, first congratulations! Second, thank you for the very useful video on the true Battle Mountain experience. I'm going to be showing it to my Cal Poly students to inspire them to exceed their 2019 speeds in 2022. This is what it's like , folks! I've been to 20 of these events and run one with my wife , Carole (2003) and we've raced at 5 of them (2008-2013). See you on the track next year! George and Carole Leone and Team Primal 3.

Great Video! Was nice meeting you and I think I haven't really congratulated you on building such a nice bike and then racing it successfully at BM! I know what it takes to do that;-) Hope to see you again at some race!

What latex and butyl tubes were you using? Butyl should slow you quite significantly.
The vittoria competition latex in the 26" MTB version is pretty sturdy, comes to around 100g after shortening to 20".

Has anyone tried building a streamliner for 2, 3, 4... riders?
It should be much easier to break world records then.
They have 4 people in a bobsleigh at the winter Olympics.

73.79 mph. Well if that's the best you can do; it's the best you can do! LOL Awesome!

Do you have any tire testing that indicates 80 psi is advantageous on an actual road surface? That's a brutally high pressure.

11:40 Yes that was a good call to run in the cool air. It's not all about aerodynamics.

    Greetings!
Lovely looking bike, nice shape and it looks small compared to the others. Great effort and congratulations on the 2nd fastest GB bike .
I think you can get the record with some fine tuning and a newer model engine 🙂
Some ideas: are plastic TPU inners available for those size wheels? Or tubeless tires?
And go for top quality drive chain components for reduced watt consumption.
P.s. why does the bike camera have a blue tint to it?
Do you have a website/Instagram etc documenting your progress?
Did you wind tunnel this bike?
I also wonder what happened to the project Mike Burrows was working on before his sad passing on,.just curious.

imagine if they used a young 22-29 age elite rider rather than an older person as they are doing here... they'd hit 80-90+?

Well the French team had 7x World track champion Francios Pervis there in '22. He hit 84mph, but they didn't feel that he got the most out of the bike. All of the stars have got to align to get the record... Hopefully they'll be back again in Sept '23 with Francios again.
