I’m an independent never Trumper voter who was going to vote Biden but jeez that debate was extremely sad, concerning and deflating. He needs to get out there without a teleprompter and show that he can do this without another disaster. Otherwise, he will lose many supporters like myself. I will never vote Trump so will either sit this one out or do a write in vote

Biden needs teleprompter and notecards whenever they put him on camera. Questions have to be submitted in advance for press conferences and he reads the answers. He gets mad when reporters go off topic or ask him questions that wasn't scripted
Biden has done a good job so far but not only by himself, he has his administration work together on policies for all Americans (not for himself), some good/not so good policies, Biden admins is not perfect, so as long as he can walk around, his people can help making policies.

This is a debate that should be had. If it was just a fluke, then it should be demonstrated as such. I think it probably was not. If so, more and more people will start looking around and demanding a better candidate. I personally don't think any of them could win either if I'm being totally honest, but they might not take down as many down race seats. This is a question of how badly does the party want to lose? Biden stays in, they lose big everywhere. Someone else steps in like Harris, and she loses, but some down ballot races are unaffected. I see no universe where the democrats retain the White House. It. Ain't. Happening. I do not think Biden would even get 100 electoral college votes this time. He might win in 3 or 4 states. It's brutal, but that is what my gut is telling me. Harris would still lose, but by less.

I don’t believe top dems ever said that Biden should step down however, the Pundits have had round table about that.
That debate reminded me of the first debate between Obama and Mitt Romney. Obama wanted to debate the issues while Romney was Gish galloping throughout the entire debate. It was so crazy that Obama was at a loss of words, he couldn’t even give a retort to any of Romney lies.
I can understand the pessimism surrounding Biden right now but how you can't be at least as pessimistic about Harris (who has been polling well below Trump, outside the margin of error, *forever*) is a real puzzler.
The democrats seem to be the ones who are most pessimistic about Harris, otherwise they would be pressuring Biden to step down. I wonder why they don't support it?
