nah bruh this ryu def murdered someone (or a bunch of someones) with a sword and was forbidden from ever weilding one again. so when training (even if he only uses kicks and punches, basic sword training is still essential to a Ninja) with Murai he learned about the attack on his clan and was sent back. Either due to his own self imposed punishment or simple submission to the Ninja code and Murai that forbayed him, he only left with a wooden sword and used no other on his journey. But the Massacare he wrought and Suffering he disposed was far more gruesome than what one could acheive with a bladed weapon. "As his skill with the sword was still god-like no matter the swords form, and his hand as swift as death, and as strong as life, could not be lessened by wood nor steel."

I remember playing this on the OG Xbox and thinking this ultimate charge mechanic sucks cause I had no idea you could use the essence to charge quickly.
This is so insane. The strats for each section are well thought out to the point that it almost feels like the game was intended to be played like this! xD
It's funny how Murai still has goons in the fortress despite Ryu needing to rush to his village. He's really bad at hiding the fact that he's the mastermind of it all.

I attempted this runn made it to the air balloon boss then had to switch temporarily for that boss then after that it became more monotones than difficult.
That's the main reason this run never appealed to me, but I wanted to do it for those that have been asking about it for literally years at this point. The run isn't really that hard, you just have to play extremely patient for certain bosses like Alma, Awakened Alma, Doku etc. I hadn't used level 3 Inferno in a long time and that cut down significantly on the tedium. It's not as powerful as it was in NG04 but it still packs one hell of a punch.
Looking forward to MN fun speedrun with full equipment use Grip of murder costume + Azure Dragon Helm + Armlet of the Sun + Ultimate Technique Low Health UF Doku One shot lets go hahahaha
Have you tried the NG on vita. I love the game but the gyro aiming is BS. Love all your gameplays, seems so effortless it pisses me of lol. Kudos to you sir one of the best NG player for me.
Thanks and yes I did play the Vita version of Sigma 1 quite a bit. The aiming in it is a really odd choice, it's very awkward and does make certain fights a lot more annoying. It's still a pretty amazing thing playing it on the Vita though, always a staple whenever I travel.
I love simple limits that make the game more complicated (no matter what game) like when Grand Theft Auto tells you to turn-off the radar for an extra challenge

there is a stunlock you can do on murai in ch1 with the nunchuks , just wait until he rolls to you and spam the first attack, so don't click 2 times. click once and as soon as possible again but be careful so you don't continue the attack string

But ngl I would love to see you do a Ninja Gaiden 2 speed run if possible(I know these games are more than a decade old). Since clearly you have the skill to speed run a game using (maybe the most difficult weapon to use in the game) anyways I love these vids. Keep up the good work!
Did you discover this pattern for Awakened Alma by yourself? Seems extremely consistent. You aimed for the forward kick to punish A.Alma's single projectile but, couldn't you have rolled and jumped into her for a [j.light] attack? I cannot currently test it, but I would imagine it can hit her in the air, however, damage is certainly lower that with the forward kick. Was the risk of a dodge too large? Recovery is longer on [j.light] that [f.light], for sure. Watching you remember every chest you hadn't opened following that stunning A.Alma run was the cherry on top; did not even bother saving beforehand. Is the ninpo usage required for Marbus' loop? Beautiful run, I vaguely recall you stating that you would not attempt this run due to the boredom it would force on you. From a viewer's perspective, there were only a handful of encounters which seemed to push patience to its limits. Perchance, have you played God of War under the PAIN handicap?

Dodging Marbus air attack is easy, just stay still for a few seconds and then dodge to the side or jump, no need to use Ninpo.
