Liam: I think wanna play a DnD game for my birthday.
Years Later: We raised how much to make an animated series based off our game?
Was C1 all because Liam wanted to play DnD?
@@VividWyzard basically. Matt explains it I think in his Between the Sheets episode. Essentially he got to talking and bonding with Liam during a different project over their shared love of DnD. Liam mentioned he hadn’t played in a long time, and Matt offered to DM a one-shot for Liam’s birthday, which was coming up. A few from that initial game began to meet more regularly for more games. Matt casually mentioned the existence of this DnD game with fellow voice actors with Felicia Day, who thought it was a great idea and asked if she could film it for a show at Geek and Sundry. Thus CR happened. So it all stemmed from Matt wanting to simple DM a normal game of DnD among friends for Liam’s birthday.

@@VividWyzard yep, discussed it with Sam on their podcast. Basically decided he wanted to play a game so matt ran a one shot. Liam enjoyed it so much as did the others they decided to keep playing. Eventually GS heard about the game pitched the twitch idea and here we are in 2022 with an ani aged series on amazon and c3

I suspect that if Critters tried to carry Mead from source to studio, the case and bottles would arrive empty, but in good condition.
Then a deposit is needed, for the rule is "you downed it, you bought it." Empty stuff means that sales were made. About enough to cover the shipment.

@@orezblades Nope, most think opening it could be damage if you were selling it and you didn't do the opening yourself. Because if it was done like that, the seller is responsible for damaged goods. And a drained cask means the buyer demands a refund. The deposit is on the carriers, with the promise of refunding the deposit as well as paying their fee on top for an undamaged, intact delivery. An arrow in the cask that didn't penetrate to the liquid still meant it was damaged but still unopened. And when a cask is tapped no telling how it was opened, or what might have been slipped in to contaminate it.
It would start as mead, but arrive as mead bottles filled with iced tea...
Hm, maybe a cask of mead for drinking, and one of mayonnaise to make sandwiches on the go

My favorite part of watching this is how caring everyone is towards each other. The hands on shoulders, the back pats. The acts of servitude like serving each other drinks and picking up the empties. The camaraderie is touching. And! Is 15:07 the origins of Fresh Cut Grass? Too cool. :)

I'm on this boat. Every week they feature the creative works of fans or on critmas when they open up all the fan made stuff I feel so insignificant with all the talent in the community. This gave us untalented fans with a little bit of disposable income to give our own form of contribution.

At 4:46 you can see Brian mouthing "it's iced tea". There are also a few shots where you can definitely see bubles.
They were obviously drinking alcohol as well, but the shots were at least switched to iced tea at some point.
They also say it's tea shots towards the end.
You also hear Sam sarcastically remarking "these are definitely shots" right before they down them.
All of that. But somehow there are still some who are saying they lied because drinking all that alcohol was bad or something *shrug*
If they said it was alcohol they would have been banned from twitch for excessive drinking

I honestly wish that I could have donated, but I couldn't afford it. But I am so proud of this community and I am so grateful to these wonderful people who produce so much amazing content every week. Critical Role has helped me through so many rough times and gives me something to look forward to every week even when my depression is taking a toll on me. I was thrilled to see the cast at MCU London, even though I didn't get an opportunity to talk to any of them or make it into the panel. It has been an honour to watch their journey get to this moment, and I wish them all the best in the adventures still to come.
